- More fans have wrote in from tonight’s RAW live event in Wilkes-Barre, PA where John Cena may have been injured after taking Wade Barrett’s Wasteland finisher in the steel cage main event.

John and Randy note that after Barrett hit his finisher, the match stopped. WWE trainers came down to the ring and were talking with Barrett and Cena. Cena threw a submission on Barrett out of nowhere and the match ended.

Barrett then left for the back immediately. Cena was brought a microphone. He said he got a little beat up tonight and if he needs to take time off, he will, but said he will not be carried from the ring.

The fans in attendance note that one of Cena’s legs appeared to be injured. Stay tuned for more updates.
If this is true, it definitelyt throws a giant monkey wrench in Raws gears.

But don't worry folks, I thought about it for about five minutes and came up with a bitching scenario.

Now with this apparent injury to John Cena, it would look like Raw is doomed. Doomed with the option of Randy Orton being the sole top face on Raw. And while that option makes me want to punch a puppy and push an old lady down the stairs, there might be another option out there.

Looking through the Raw roster, there are not that many people on the same level as Cena or Orton, and lets face it, Raw is not the place that makes stars. Does that mean they need someone from Smackdown like say.....Big Show? Wouldn't make sense, but since when does WWE make sense? Not like Big Show is doing anything on Smackdown atm, and seems primed for a move.

But I don't like that option either, so fuck that shit. How about we don't bring anyone from Smackdown, since all the ones that matter are already stuck in feuds right now.

Lets focus on the Raw roster and look at the options, John Morrison? Currently feuding with the champ. Could bring back Triple H early, but that would leave Sheamus with nothing to do. Could ask Chris Jericho to save us all again, but that would mean Orton kicked him for no reason. Can't have that.

There is a certain person who has ties to Nexus, and has some unfinished business, and looked like he was about to have a feud with CM Punk. That's right, we need Daniel Bryan to hijack this angle and feud with Nexus. He isn't doing anything right now, and it would be a fresh feud, with actual history behind it.

They would need to make some explanation as to why he would take them on now, but some simple slapping of some Bella twins would do the trick and then you got yourself something new and fresh to watch and enjoy. I like it.

Anyone else?

Plus the best thing about it, is if Cena is able to work around say.....WM time, it gives Barrett something to do, it only makes him a fucking badass again and he can tell Nexus "fuck off, look what I did without you." Nexus and Punk still have Bryan as an option and could incorporate others, since another person I know from a different forum said this is probably the best time for Cena to take some time off, since both Rumble and EC are two multi superstar events. Which is very true, and it could elevate Barrett even more, make him look strong in the Rumble and EC, and even if Cena can't work Mania, he can always be Taker's opponent, and if he is the guy who took out Cena, he could be the guy who ended The Streak..... I'm in a booking mood today.

Well i have read reports from different site which makes me feel this injury is Legit! I agree having orton as top face would be death for raw , as his generic move set and angle is on par or worse than Cenas! I can see you're logic on the daniel bryan thing which might actually spark my interest in him!

I love the irony here. Cena was supposed to be "fired" from WWE after the Nexus angle yet turned up the next week. Now Cena may be forced to actually spend some time off television to rehab his injury. WWE should have just had him take a couple of months off after that angle.

Would mean a huge change in the direction of RAW and it couldn't be worse timing leading up to the busiest period of the year. Punk and Nexus angle with Cena now ends right away leaving Punk no-one to feud with except Orton but that doesn't even make sense. Daniel Bryan may be the best selection to face Nexus and if they throw in some midcard faces they can then have some multi-man tag team matches.

Shame that Evan Bourne, R-Truth and Goldust are all also injured as they could have gained a bit from this. Morrison will certainly stay in the mainevent now and Bryan should be pushed up the card. Great opportunity for some new talents to get more air time. That could all be crushed if HHH returns as a face and in the mainevent starting at the Rumble.

WWE have now acknowledged the injury to Cena:

wwe.com said:
Last night in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., John Cena suffered a hip injury. His return to action will be evaluated on a day to day basis.

Not very informative but WWE would have to have said something after all the reports that were flying around after last nights show. Hopefully once he has seen a specialist they will be able to release a time frame for his return.
