I didn't watch it...didn't care....but I made the mistake, during the height of it, to go to my favorite Irish pub for an early Sunday brunch. What a nightmare. Even though Ireland (or any team from the UK) wasn't playing, the bar opened at 9 am (normally opens at 11) and was jammed with people wearing soccer outfits, kicking balls and screaming at the top of their lungs at the TVs. The servers were so unnerved it took forever to get an order in and they were stressed. One server told me she hated the World Cup because all the customers turn into instant assholes. That was pretty much the extent of my World Cup experiences. The really good news? I wasn't one of those poor servers.
