Also the journey Cody has been on in his life has made for a compelling story as well.
Upset and down Stardust leaves. He does some shows out on his own, goes to NJPW and joins TNA for a couple of appeances. His parking spot is given away he joins ROH and Starts ALL in and makes an alternative to just WWE. He hands out there for a few years when his contract was up he decided he needed to go back to WWE in 2021 to get the one thing his dad didn't. He comes back a man on a mission. Seth hates him, he tears his pectoral the day before a match and goes out and delivers the best match of the night. He is on the shelf and out for the rest if the year to have it repaired. That year Sami joins the bloodline ans they destroy everyone in their path. They beat everyone up. They make Sami jump through hoops to become a member. They then try to take out Kevin Owens Sami can't do that. He stops them. He then turns on Roman by hitting him with the chair. Cody comes back wins the rumble and is set to face Roman. Sami is out of the bloodline him and KO are set to face the USO's for the titles.
Cody loses by the bloodline cheating at all costs, but Sami and KO win.
Cody then has to go through Brock Lesnar to show he can be the guy because guess what you can't be the guy if you can't beat the guys who have carried the company the last couple of years. He does it he makes his way back to the rumble. CM Puke gets tossed out by Cody and goes on to choose Roman again after the Rock thought he could jump in and take that spot. The audience didn't want Rocky Maiva in that spot they wanted Cody. He defeats the guy who had the title for over 4 years. That is magnificent in and of itself.
A 6 year story just wrapped up along with a 4 year story.
