I'll admit, when Cody was in AEW, I wasn't much of a fan of his. Just didn't care for him all that much. Which is weird, as he's not THAT different in WWE than he was in AEW. So, I mean I will give it to Dustin when he says minds can be changed, it happens. I mean anyone who's been here long enough and who followed AEW will remember me saying he ruined Christmas when he beat Sammy for the TNT Title on an episode that aired on Christmas lmao. When he first came back, I wasn't all that excited about it, but he slowly won me over. Part of it was him working that Hell in a Cell match tbh. He just comes off as a good dude, and the man puts in the work. I admire that. Sometimes it's simple shit that makes people a fan of someone.

So when he left to go join the WWE, I was a bit torn, because as a founder of sorts of all in that eventually led to the creation of AEW. I didn’t want to see him go, but when the WWE family fully embraced him, I knew he needed to go.

and it's weird, cause now a lot of those AEW fans(which includes myself) love him now. Like, I think if he ever did come back in the future, even if for one little last run at some point, a lot of those fans would easily welcome him back with open arms.

I’ll be honest, too, like my relationship with AEW in the beginning, was very touch and go. The only reason I even tuned in was because I was a huge Cody mark and he was an EVP and it was like his promotion so to speak and then the very first thing they do was beat him in the main event with a stipulation that he could never be the AEW world champion? That was a puzzling decision for me then it still is now. I kind of tuned off of AEW for a bit after that. Especially when Jon Moxley won the belt not too long after that and I was like you picked him over Cody to represent the bran? And I understand why Cody didn’t want it he didn’t want accusations of booking himself to be the top guy but I was just like but you are a top guy.
