Backstory

Matt Hardy had successfully defeated MVP at Backlash 2008 to finally capture the United States Championship. Hardy was enjoying a good Title reign when he moved to ECW in the draft, thus taking the belt to the ‘Land of Extreme’. Also in the draft, Jeff Hardy had moved to SmackDown! Matt continued his Title reign, while Vickie Guerrero and Teddy Long had decided to end the talent exchange, as they couldn’t get along. However, teddy agreed to give SmackDown! one last shot at bringing the US Title home. That would be at SummerSlam.. Vickie decided to decide who the challenger was, she would make a Number One Contender Battle Royal. After a long battle, Shelton Benjamin was the last man eliminated by none other than Matt’s younger brother, Jeff. So that brings us to the current time. It is Matt Hardy, defending his United States Championship against his little brother Jeff, in the last chance SmackDown! will ever get at having the US Title back.

Live for the Moment plays, and Matt Hardy walks to the top of the stage and poses, with the United States Championship hung over his shoulder. He then walks on down to the ring, climbs up into it, then poses on the second rope.

Michael Cole: “Ladies and gentlemen, it will be me, Michael Cole calling this match with my former partner, Tazz.â€

Tazz: “There he is baby, Matt Hardy, the United States Champion from ECW.â€

No More Words plays, and Jeff Hardy dances at the top of the stage, then walks down the ramp to the ring. Jeff climbs up into the ring, then runs over to the corner, and jumps up onto the second rope to pose.

Michael Cole: “Here he is, the man who will bring the US Title back to SmackDown!, Jeff Hardy.â€

Tazz: “I dunno Cole, my money is on Matt.â€

United States Championship
Matt Hardy (c) vs Jeff Hardy

Both men start to circle around the ring, as the crowd have duelling chants, both men getting support. Matt and Jeff then come forward, and shake hands. The crowd cheers, and both men back away to the corners, and jump around to get ready. They then start to circle around the ring again, preparing to lock up. Both men move forward, and engage in a lock up. Both struggle for the power, and Matt starts to get the advantage, pushing Jeff back to the corner. Matt moves back slowly, and the crowd applauds. Both men move towards the centre of the ring, then shake hands again, before both him kicks to the mid-section of each other, thinking the same. Matt recovers first and goes for a right hand, but Jeff ducks it, then goes for a kick to the mid-section, but Matt catches his foot and throws it right back down. Matt then locks in a side headlock on Jeff, before taking him over with a headlock takedown. Both of Jeff’s shoulders fall to the mat, 1...2. Jeff gets them back up. Jeff then applies some headscissors to Matt. Matt springs out of it, and both men get back to their feet. The crowd applaud, and Matt goes for a kick to the mid-section, but Jeff blocks it, then throws his boot down. Jeff then attempts an Irish whip on Matt, but Matt reverses and sends Jeff off. Jeff gets up, and Matt hits him with a knee to the mid-section, then hits a big right hand that forces Jeff back into the corner. Matt then starts to hit some big right hands in the corner. 1...2...3...4. Matt Irish whips Jeff to the opposite corner. Jeff runs up the ropes and goes for the whisper in the wind, but Matt sees it coming and doges, leaving Jeff to crash and burn on the mat. Matt makes the cover, 1...2. Jeff kicks out again. Matt gets back to his feet, then goes up to the second rope. Matt measures Jeff, waiting for his brother to get up. Jeff gets up and Matt comes off for an elbow to the back of his head, but Jeff runs out of the way, then bounces off the ropes before taking Matt down with a big forearm.

Matt gets back to his feet, and Jeff hits some right hands before going for a kick to the mid-section that Matt is able to block. Jeff is able to hit a mule kick however, which sends Matt down to a seated position in the corner. Jeff then runs up to the corner, handstands on the turnbuckle, before coming back with a big dropkick onto the jaw of Matt. Matt looks out of it in the corner, and Jeff drags him out of the corner a bit by the leg, then covers him, 1...2. Matt is still able to get his foot on the bottom rope. Jeff looks at the referee and pulls his hair, then gets up and heads up to the top rope while Matt slowly gets up. Matt gets back to his feet, and Jeff comes flying off with a cross body block. Matt rolls through, and hooks the leg of Jeff for a pin attempt, 1...2. Jeff is able to kick out. Both men get back to their feet, and Jeff hits some right hands to the head of Matt quickly. Jeff then runs back at the ropes, bounces off them, and goes for a flying cross body. Matt goes for a cross body as well, and both of the Hardy’s hit in midair, and crash to the mat hard in pain. Both get up slowly, Jeff the first of the two. Matt gets up, and Jeff kicks him in the mid-section, then goes for the Twist of Fate, but Matt pushes Jeff off as he turns. Jeff runs at the ropes, bounces off them, then gets taken down with a big flying clothesline from Matt.

Matt gets back to his feet, feeling some momentum now. He helps Jeff back up to his feet by the hair, then Irish whips him. Jeff runs at the ropes, bounces off them, then gets taken down by an elbow from Matt. Jeff gets back to his feet, and Matt charges to him and takes him down with another elbow to the face of Jeff. Matt hooks the leg of Jeff, 1...2. Jeff kicks out. Matt gets back to his feet, then helps Jeff back up by the hair. Matt keeps a hold of Jeff’s hair, then runs him over to the corner, and slams him down head first into the top turnbuckle. Matt then pushes Jeff back into the corner, and hits some kicks to the mid-section of Jeff. 1...2...3...4. Matt backs away. Matt then waits on Jeff to come out of the corner. Jeff comes out slowly, and Matt kicks him hard in the mid-section, then sets Jeff up for the Twist of Fate. As Matt turns, Jeff pushes him off, and Matt is sent into the corner. Jeff charges in at him, but Matt sends Jeff down to the mat with a boot to the face. Matt sees Jeff down, then climbs up to the top rope with his back to Jeff, moving up slowly. Matt then comes off looking for a moonsault, but Jeff is able to roll out of the way, avoiding the move. Jeff then gets back to his feet, and sees Matt down, so he climbs up to the top rope himself. Jeff then comes off looking for the Swantom Bomb, but Matt gets his knees up, and Jeff’s back hits them hard. Jeff rolls around the mat in pain, and Matt crawls across, then rolls Jeff over and hooks his leg, 1...2.. Jeff just gets is shoulders up. Matt looks in shock, then sets Jeff up in a seated position, and applies a surfboard stretch.

Jeff tries to fight through the pain and back to his feet, as the crowd support him. Jeff gets to a knee, as he continues to refuse to submit, telling the referee no. Jeff gets back to his feet, then hits a few kicks to the mid-section of Matt, forcing Matt to break the hold. Jeff then grabs Matt by the arm and pulls him in, then takes down with a one arm sleeper slam. Both men are down on the mat, and the referee starts to count as they pull themselves to the ropes to gain assistance in standing up. 1...2...3...4...5...6...7. Jeff hits the mat, and Matt quickly picks him up, then drives him down to the mat with the side effect. Matt then climbs up to the top rope, and taunts, before coming off with a guillotine leg drop that connects across the throat of Jeff. Matt makes the cover, 1...2.. Jeff just kicks out. Matt gets to his knees, pulling on his hair with his face in a look of complete shock. Matt then gets back to his feet and calls for the Twist of Fate, before taunting. Jeff gets back to his feet, and Matt kicks his little brother hard in the mid-section, then goes for the Twist of Fate, but Jeff spins out of it. Both brothers turn to face each other once again, and Jeff lands a kick to the mid-section of Matt, then takes him down with the Twist of Fate. Both men are down from exhaustion, with Jeff being the first to get up. Jeff slowly goes over to the corner and heads up to the top rope. Justin Roberts: “Here is your winner, and still the United States Champion, Matt Hardy.â€

Tazz: “I knew it; ECW keep the gold baby!â€

Michael Cole: “A great effort from both men you have to admit Tazz.â€

Matt slowly gets to his feet, and is handed his United States Championship. He goes and poses on the turnbuckle, then drops back down to the mat, and sees Jeff standing behind him. Both men then hug, as the crowd goes nuts.

^^No, I don't have a problem that you voted for Dennin one bit, it's just I couldn't really understand what you were saying about both matches but you are entitled to your opinion and I'm entitled to mine so it's ok.

EDIT: Unlucky on missing out on Round 2, looks like I got sprialshock now (hoping CT doesn't make a shock return days after he decided to take his leave of absense).

alexmoss12’s BTB Match Writing Tournament Round 1 Match

Before I post my Match, I would just like to say good luck to my opponent brian kendrick’s biceps, who I think will do really well in this Tournament, IF he is able to beat me though. Haha. The Match I have wrote is a Match I have said in several threads that I would like to see, and that is The Undertaker vs. Sting. Here is how it all came about:

-Backstory-

Edge defeated The Undertaker at One Night Stand to become World Heavyweight Champion and banish The Undertaker from the entire WWE. Edge went on to retain the Championship at Night of Champions against Batista, but in a shocking moment lost the belt the next night on Raw to CM Punk. Tension began to ensue between Edge and his fiancée Smackdown General Manager Vickie Guerrero. Edge lost his match with Triple H for the WWE Championship at Great American Bash; afterwards Vickie Guerrero proclaimed that the relationship was over. Then the lights went out and the famous Gong was heard once again.

In the following weeks leading up to Summerslam, Edge’s Matches were stopped as the lights would go out and the Gong would be heard again. Edge had had enough and said if The Undertaker was back he wanted to meet him face to face in the ring at Summerslam. At Summerslam Edge did what he aid and called out The Undertaker, the lights went out again, after a few moments they came back on and behind him was The Undertaker. The Crowd lit up into frenzy as Edge slowly turned around and was hit with a Tombstone to the mat.

The following month The Undertaker defeated Edge at Unforgiven, Undertaker then demanded a WWE Championship Match against reigning Champion Triple H. “The Game†held back from the match until Survivor Series where the two went head-to-head. After a thrilling Match, Triple H retained the Belt with a Pedigree leaving Undertaker in the ring. Undertaker then walked towards the ropes to exit the ring but the lights went out. When they came back on, a Chair was in the ring with a Black Baseball Bat. The fans went crazy for who they thought it was.

Sting’s time in TNA for 2008 was rather poor; in March he returned to take part in the years Lethal Lockdown and was unhappy at the way he was being treated. At Sacrifice he was put in an abysmal Deuce’s Wild Tournament and was the last straw. Sting asked for his release from the company which he got in late July. McMahon got in contact with Sting for months and months, secretly to anyone else and signed him, with only a select few knowing.

After months and months of hints, Sting made his WWE Debut at No Way Out, interrupting Undertaker’s Match with Mr. Kennedy and proclaimed that he wanted him one-on-one. The match was signed for Wrestlemania XXV, it would be the last for Sting as he was retiring after the event, and it would also be The Undertaker’s as he called it a day.

Wrestlemania XXV
The Undertaker vs. Sting

Multiple Camera Angles are shown around the Arena, until Seek and Destroy blasts through the Speakers. The Crowd all stand up in anticipation as Sting walks out of the Back onto the Entrance Ramp, holding his signature Black Baseball Bat. Sting walks onto the left side of the Stage and pulls the Baseball bat over his head, as the crowd roar with excitement. Sting repeats this on the other side to an even bigger reaction. Sting cups his hands to his mouth and shouts “Woo†to get himself in the mood. The Crowd are still going wild for “The Stingerâ€. Sting walks down the Entrance Ramp and slaps outstretched hands on both sides of the Entrance Ramp. Sting gets to the Ring and walks on the left side of the ring, up the Steel Steps and gets inside the ring. Sting swings the Baseball Bat around and claps his hands in a show of respect.

Michael Cole: The first time that Sting is in a WWE Ring, and the last.
Jerry Lawler: The crowd are going crazy for Sting, Michael.

Sting continues to pose to the Crowd in Houston, Texas, but is stopped in his tracks as the lights go out in the Arena. Rest In Peace blasts through the Speakers as the famous Gong is heard. The Thunder Striking sound plays, as the lights fade on a little bit. Smoke covers the Entrance Ramp as The Undertaker slowly makes his way down to the ring. Undertaker continues his intimidating walk to the ring, and stands up on the Steel Steps. Undertaker lifts his hands in the air, as the lights come back on again. Undertaker gets through the ropes into the ring and slowly takes of his hat. The referee assigned for the contest Mike Chioda looks on uneasily. Undertaker takes off his jacket and rolls his eyes into the back of his head. His Music fades away as Chioda rings the bell.

DING DING DING

Michael Cole: The match is underway, “The Phenom†vs. “The Stingerâ€.
Jerry Lawler: These two are going to put everything on the line to win their last ever Match.

Undertaker walks out of his corner, as does Sting and the two stare each other in the eye as a “Let’s Go Taker†Chant begins, but in the gap between an even louder “Let’s Go Sting†chant happens. Sting extends his hand to Undertaker, who looks across the Sold Out Reliant Stadium asking for advice by his facial expressions. The Crowd nod their heads and tell him to shake it, Undertaker turns back towards Sting, whos hand is still outstretched. Undertaker smacks Sting across the face with an Uppercut, Sting stumbles backwards in amazement as Undertaker follows it up with a few punches, sending him further backwards into the ropes opposite the Announce Tables. Undertaker then rolls Sting into the opposing ropes, Sting goes into the ropes back first and comes off them, Undertaker attempts a Big Boot, but Sting ducks under into the ropes again. Sting comes off the ropes and chops Underaker across the chest. Undertaker is taken aback by the move and moves backwards, Sting finds an opening and Chops Undertaker again in the Chest. Undertaker moves backwards again, into the ropes. Sting tries a third Chop but Undertaker ducks the move and runs into the opposing ropes. Undertaker comes off the ropes and executes a Leaping Flying Clothesline, knocking Sting down to the mat. Both men are down on the mat, as the Crowd clap in approval of the move. Mike Chioda looks down at both men and then raises one finger from his left hand in the air and shouts: "1!" Chioda looks down at both men again before raising two fingers of his left hand and shouting: "2!" Chioda looks down at both men once again and raises three fingers of his left hand and shouts "Thr...." Chioda is interupted by the cheers of the Reliant Stadium as The Undertaker sits up. The Crowd begin a huge chant of "UNDERTAKER" as "The Phenom" gets up to his feet. Undertaker grabs Sting by the head, getting his opponent up to his feet. Undertaker twists Sting's hand around and leads him towards the turnbuckle. Undertaker climbs the turnuckle and walks carefully onto the top rope. Sting quickly yanks on Undertaker's arm sending him crashing down to the outside. Undertaker shouts in pain as Sting is pushed back by the referee for exiting the ring. Undertaker starts to make his way up onto his feet at the bottom of the Entrance Ramp. Sting rushes over to the turnbuckle on the right and starts to climb it, Mike Chioda quickly dashes over to the Corner and orders Sting to get off of the Turnbuckle. Sting disobeys the Referee's command and jumps off of the turnbuckle onto The Undertaker. The crowd go into a frenzy at the move, whilst starting a "Sting" chant. Sting picks up The Undertaker and rolls him into the Guardrail. Undertaker falls down in pain as Sting walks towards his opponent to inflict more damage. Chioda looks out from the outside and raises one finger and shouts out "1!" The crowd boo viciously at Chioda's voice, as Sting rams Undertaker into the opposite guardrail. Undertaker falls back down onto the Entrance Ramp, Sting walks over to Undertaker and leans in on him, but Undertaker grabs Sting's throat, which recieves a huge amount of cheers from the Reliant Stadium. Undertaker gets to his feet and Chokeslam's Sting on the Entrance Ramp. By this time Chioda has reached a 7 Count. Undertaker walks over to the ring and gets inside, he locks his eyes on Chioda who has just finished shouting "8!" Chioda tries to quickly escape the ring but Undertaker grabs him. Undertaker pulls the referee back into the middle of the ring and executes a Tombstone Piledriver. The crowd go balistic for this.

Michael Cole: A Tombstone Piledriver on Mike Chioda!
Jerry Lawler: I think its safe to say that he won't be officiating this match anymore Michael.

Undertaker exits the ring again and meets Sting in the middle of the Entrance Ramp. Sting is badly hurt from the Chokeslam and has only started to get to his feet. Undertaker slowly waits for Sting to get to his feet, getting a ovation for continuing the match. Undertaker holds Sting's head up with his left hand and then punches Sting to the floor with his right hand. Undertaker watches as Sting still gets to his feet, Undertaker holds his opponents head up again and knocks him down with his right hand. The Cameras show a close up of Sting's whose face is BUSTED OPEN! Sting still gets to his feet though, and Undertaker tries another punch, but Sting battles back with a shot to the ribs. Undertaker is stunned and tries a cheap shot but Sting blocks again. Undertaker runs backwards a few metres and runs back, but is Back Body Dropped onto the top of the Entrance Ramp. Sting looks across the Crowd in utter disbelief as the crowd start another "STING" chant. Sting grabs Undertaker's head and throws him over the Guardrail into the Crowd. Sting waits for Undertaker to get up and starts a series of punches to Undertaker's head. The Crowd slap both the wrestlers gently as a show of respect whilst cheering them on. A fan near him shouts for Sting to use the Chair, Sting then replies "Gimme a Chair and I'll use it." The fan quickly gives him a chair and yells: "Hey Taker." Undertaker slowly turns around and is smacked across the face with the Steel Chair. Undertaker falls to the ground like a sack of shi.... potatoes. Sting then picks Undertaker up again and drags him towards the Guardrail opposite the ring on the right of the Announcer Tables. Sting gets their and throws Undertaker over the Guardrail. Sting puts his legs over the Guardrail and walks over to Undertaker who is in front of the Raw Announce Table. Undertaker knees Sting in the gut and slams Sting's head on the Announce table. Sting looks at Undertaker like it is nothing. Undertaker slams Sting's head on the Announce Table again to the same response. Undertaker tries it again but Sting reverses and smacks Undertaker's head on the Announce Table. Sting then rolls Undertaker back into the ring. Sting positions Undertaker in the corner and executes the Stinger Splash, Undertaker falls down to the mat. Sting locks in the Scorpion Deathlock, to which fans go crazy for. Undertaker uses his last bit of energy left to reach for the bottom rope but it isn't enough.

Michael Cole: Scorpion Deathlock!
Jerry Lawler: Undertaker's finished.

Sting adds more pressure to the hold as Undertaker's pain is heard throughout the Stadium. Some fans voices are heard, some supporting Sting and some Undertaker. Undertaker can't take the pain anymore and taps out quickly. Sting keeps the hold on as their is no referee. Sting releases the hold after a few seconds and goes over to Mike Chioda who hasn't recovered. Sting shakes Chioda to get him conscious but it has little effect. Undertaker sits up and waits behind Sting, who turns around and is hit with a Tombstone Piledriver. Undertaker holds both of Sting's arms on his chest as thousands of screaming WWE Fans shout: "1, 2, 3." But there is still no referee. Undertaker cannot believe it and waves his hand backwards, to signal for a referee to come down to the ring. Undertaker walks towards the ring ropes opposite the Entrance Ramp, and Nick Patrick runs down the Entrance Ramp. Undertaker turns around and is hit with the Scorpion Deathdrop. Nick Patrick counts, and so does the fans in the Stadium. "1, 2, 3!"

DING DING DING

Seek and Destroy blasts through the Speakers once again as Sting is lying motionless on the mat. The Commentators put over the Careers of both men and the Match itself. Sting slowly gets to his feet and stands ontop of the turnbuckle and thanks the fans. Some fans are shown worshipping Sting. Sting's Entrance Music fades out as Sting come soff the turnbuckle and sees Undertaker standing in the centre of the ring looking at him. A huge chant of "Thank you Sting, Thank you Undertaker" begins as loud as it could possibly be. Sting meets up with Undertaker and extends his hand to him. Undertaker looks around the Stadium and then shakes his hand. Undertaker raises Sting's arm and points his other arm at Sting as the two celebrate the end of their careers together.

Alex Vs BKB

BKB's backstory was very realistic and having Hardy Vs Hardy was great. It was a good match that flowed quite well and it was very easy to read. :y:

Alex's backstory was an alright one, and the match was quite good but it didnt flow as well as BKBs did. At points it was a little hard to read.

My Vote: BKB

CMS one question, how long do we all get to vote for all the matches? some of the encounters havent even been voted for, I think we should make a rule that each man in the tournament should vote atleast once otherwise we will have ties between people because nobody voted...?

After Kurt Angle’s repeated knee and neck injuries from competing continually without resting, TNA’s insurance and corporate sponsors saw Kurt Angle as too much of a liability towards their reputation. TNA released Kurt Angle after he had neck and knee surgery and being told that if he were to compete it would be a very dangerous risk and that he may never walk again.

After Angle’s release, he became very outspoken against Total Nonstop Action and their decision to let him go when he felt terrific. In a recent RF Video shoot, Kurt Angle spoke out his personal grievance against Triple H and Stephanie McMahon and aired some private grievance regarding him leaving WWE.

WWE.Com released a statement from Triple H and Vince McMahon, inviting Kurt Angle for a one time match against Triple H if he were to sign an insurance release waver claiming WWE was not responsible for any injury Kurt Angle may sustain.

On ESPN Sports Center, Kurt Angle publicly accepted World Wrestling Entertainments offer and said that he will once again prove his worth to the wrestling community and finally prove that he is better than Triple H in anyway. The match was made for Wrestlemania 25 in Houston Texas. This is the historic and very personal confrontation.
