Backsotry: Edge has been on a reign of terror holding the title for close to 5 months with no end in sight. Edge’s Army (Edge, Abyss, Lita, Cade and Murdoch) where close to unstoppable destroying everyone in site. HBK won a title tournament allowing him to challenge Edge one on one for the WWE Title. HBK has recently been getting the advantage week after week despite the odds. Last week Abyss took on HBK in a one on one match up. As Shawn Michaels looked to almost defeat Shawn Michaels, Edge interfered taking him out with a huge Spear. He held the title over Shawn Michaels. Will this be the same site in this huge match up?

WWE Championship

Edge © w/Lita vs. Shawn Michaels
The bell rings and the two competitors stand across the ring, trying to stare one another out. They edge their way to the centre of the ring and lock up for a test of strength. Edge gives a slight smirk, knowing that he can use his size and weight advantage to help overpower Shawn Michaels. Edge’s size allows him to gain the momentum in this battle, and he begins to overpower HBK. However, HBK battles back and uses the crowd’s chants to get back to an even footing with Edge. They both release, seeing that neither man is going to gain any advantage in this exchange. They back away and regain their composure. Both men know the importance of this match and they suck in the crowd’s cheers. They edge back towards the centre of the ring and slowly connect for the test of mercy. They lock up and Edge immediately pulls HBK towards him and wrenches his hands to cause HBK excruciating pain. HBK, however, lifts their locked up hands over his head and then takes Edge to the mat and jumps all over him, slapping his head and face in mockery of Edge. This agitates the Rated R Superstar, who gets right back to his feet and then takes a shot at Michaels, but the former 4-time World Champion ducks underneath and then turns and plants some chops to the chest of Edge. Edge comes back with a rake to the eyes and takes Michaels down with a snapmare, before synching in a chin lock, and the pace quickened momentarily there. HBK fights his way out of the chin lock fairly quickly by rolling his legs up and around Edge’s neck, bringing him down to the mat for a pin fall. The referee makes the count:

---1---

---2---

Edge rolls out of the pin fall.
Both men reach their feet at the same time but HBK reacts quicker, nailing his own snapmare on Edge. HBK then yanks Edge’s arm back around his head and wrenches is hard. Edge cries out in pain and Lita, on the outside, urges him on, not wanting him to lose faith early on. HBK releases Edge’s arm after a short while and then pulls him to his feet. HBK attempts to land a punch, but Edge catches it and hits one of his own. Edge nails a second blow, then a third, but misses with the fourth punch as HBK catches his arm and Michaels then hits a quick dropkick to the knee of Edge. Edge falls to his knees and Michaels knocks him down to the mat with another dropkick – this time to the face. HBK drops down over Edge for the cover:

---1---

---2---

Edge gets a shoulder off the mat just after the count of two. Shawn Michaels pulls Edge to his vertical base and attempts an Irish whip, but the champion reverses and HBK is sent towards the ropes. Edge kneels down, looking for a back body drop, but HBK stops in time and hits a kick to the face. HBK then backs into the ropes and comes off with a flying forearm, but Edge dives out of the way. The WWE Champion sees an opening now and begins to stomp away on the back of HBK’s neck with the challenger on his stomach. With HBK hurt, Edge drags him towards the turnbuckle and leans him against it. Edge then proceeds to stomp away again on Michaels, and we see Lita hold HBK’s arms behind the post to prevent him from defending himself.

The ref sees this and tells Edge to move away. Lita acts innocent but the ref climbs out of the ring and tells her to back away. Meanwhile, Edge uses this distraction to choke Shawn with the tag rope. He ceases choking HBK before the ref returns to the ring, and then makes the cover:

---1---

---2---

HBK kicks out at about 2 ½. Edge gets to his feet and lifts Michaels up. Edge then lands a body slam and runs into the ropes, nailing a running knee drop to the face of his challenger. Edge takes this time to mock the fans, who are fully in favour of Shawn Michaels tonight. Lita also taunts some fans at ringside, and back in the ring, Edge pulls his number one contender back to his feet. Edge sends Michaels into the ropes and then drops him with a back body drop. With HBK down in the middle of the ring, Edge grabs his head and locks in a side headlock. HBK looks in a lot of trouble very early on in this contest. He shows that he is still with it though, as when the referee lifts his arm into the air and lets go, it stays right in place. HBK then fights his way out, getting first to his knees, and then to an almost vertical position, where he digs several elbows into the midsection of the champion to force a release. HBK starts feeling some momentum by running Edge off the ropes and nailing a short arm clothesline, and when Edge rises back up, Michaels runs at him and goes for a flying shoulder, but the champion ducks and then lifts HBK over his head and over the ropes with a back drop. HBK is able to lands on the outside apron, and as Edge turns Michaels ducks his oncoming blow and digs a shoulder into Edge’s abdomen. HBK then rolls himself back into the ring by rolling over Edge and he tries to roll him up for the pin fall, but Lita grabs Edge’s arms to stop him from dropping to the mat, swinging the momentum – and the pin fall – in the champion’s favour:

---1---

HBK is trying to kick out but Lita’s interference is making this near impossible.

---2---

HBK just manages to kick out before the three, with the ref having no idea what Lita just did. Edge gets to his feet just before his opponent and he knocks him down with a quick, hard clothesline. Edge goes into the ropes and drops an elbow onto HBK’s midsection. The fans boo as he is taking full control of this contest and Edge then grabs Michaels’ legs and attempts the figure-four leg lock. HBK, however, shoves him away with his legs and then as Edge comes back, Michaels wraps is legs around Edge’s head and swings him down to the mat. The fans cheer as HBK nips up but immediately Edge is up and HBK turns into a dropkick. Edge then shouts for HBK to rise back to his feet, and with the challenger against the ropes, Edge runs at him and hits a cross body onto HBK, sending both men over the top rope and to the outside floor. The fans give a good pop at that last spot, and we see Lita checking on her man, who is not in a bad condition at this point as Shawn Michaels. Edge is to his feet first and the referee, unsuccessfully, tries to tell Edge to get HBK back inside the ring, but the WWE Champion doesn’t listen and he pulls HBK up and tosses him into the steel steps. The ref starts to shout at Edge that he needs to get back inside, and Edge rolls inside, but straight back out, seeing this as a chance to really wear down Michaels. Edge picks his opponent back to his base and then runs him into the crowd barricade, with HBK’s already damaged back taking the brunt of it. Some fans exchange words with Edge and he mocks then before rolling Shawn back inside the ring at last. Inside the squared circle, Edge is bouncing around, really enjoying what he is doing to his challenger and he waits for him to slowly rise to his feet. Once up, Edge then pulls Michaels into position and plants him down into the mat wit a suplex. Edge shows his arrogant smirk and pulls HBK back up. Edge then lands another suplex and this time he makes the cover, hoping that this will be enough:

---1---

---2---

HBK kicks out at 2 ½. Edge looks a little frustrated that he didn’t put Michaels away there, but he doesn’t seem too surprised, as this match is still in its early stages. He then lifts Shawn Michaels back up and positions him against the turnbuckle. Edge then proceeds to lift HBK onto the top turnbuckle and Edge himself climbs to the second turnbuckle. He positions Michaels for the superplex, but the challenger beings to fight back, knowing that this is a make or break situation. HBK plants some hard shots into the ribs on Edge and the Rated R Superstar is forced to drop off the ropes and onto the apron, where he lands on his feet and climbs right back up, looking to take advantage with a quick belly to back suplex off the top turnbuckle, but the Heart Break Kid has this well scouted too, and knocks Edge back down, with the champion landing on his back, in the perfect position for HBK to nail some high risk move. HBK sees the opening here and gets in position on the top turnbuckle. He looks to the crowd, who are urging him to take a chance and he smirks and then dives off the top rope. HBK looks for the top-rope elbow drop, but Edge just manages to roll out of the way and HBK crashes down to the canvas! The crowd boos as they wanted Michaels to land that elbow drop and take control of Edge and both men are down on the mat.

The referee starts up the ten count on both men:

---1---

---2---

---3---

Edge, the much better of the two right now in terms of how much they have left in the tank, is back to his feet. HBK is moving slightly, but it is clear that Edge has control of this match once again.

---4---

---5---

HBK is now back to his feet, and before he can fully make it to a vertical base, Edge moves towards him and digs his knee into the abdomen. HBK holds his stomach area in pain and the WWE Champion then hits a stiff kick to the head. HBK falls back and is down on the mat again. At this point, Edge decides to go high risk, climbing to the outside apron and to the top turnbuckle. The fans boo as he smiles and is signalling that the WWE Title will still be his after the night is over. HBK is up on his feet, and as he turns, Edge dives off the top, looking for the axe handle, but Shawn Michaels sees him coming and hits a shot to the midsection of Edge when the two competitors collide, and Edge flips over and goes down to the mat. HBK is relieved and pulls Edge to his feet, knowing that he must act quick and turn things around. Michaels sends Edge to the turnbuckle but it is reversed and HBK’s back again gets hurt. Edge runs at him but the challenger shows his expertise and hits a thumb to the eye, which goes undetected by the referee. Michaels pulls himself to the second turnbuckle and hits a dropkick to the back of Edge. The crowd begin to cheer HBK on as he rolls Edge onto his stomach and into the cover, but surely not enough damage has been done:

---1---

---2---

Edge kicks out just after the count of 2! Shawn Michaels is to his feet just before his adversary and he hits an arm drag and keeps a hold of Edge’s arm, synching in an arm lock on the mat. Lita tries to urge Edge out of the hold, but HBK has it locked in nicely and the ref is there to see if Edge wants to give it up, but the announcers point out that it is very unlikely Edge will give his WWE Title up in an arm lock. Edge’s face shows the pain he is suffering, but he has no intention of giving this one up and he battles out of the hold, rolling Edge up nicely into a modified cradle pin. The ref is right there to count the fall:

---1---

---2---

HBK kicks out right after the count of 2. Both men get to their feet and back away, and we are just over ten minutes into this contest. The fans can feel the tension in the air as both men have waged war for the past month in a build up to this huge WWE Championship match. They edge their way back towards the centre of the ring and HBK wants another test of strength. They lock up again and struggle for the momentum, but Edge takes the easy way out with a stiff knee to the gut of Shawn Michaels. The Heart Break Kid crouches down slightly to hold his midsection in pain and Edge sends him into the ropes and then takes HBK down to the mat with a belly-to-back suplex! Edge sees this as his best chance so far to retain his championship and he rolls into the cover and hooks the leg:

---1---

---2---

HBK just kicks out right before the referee’s arm came down for the three! Edge looks annoyed that he didn’t put HBK down for the three there and he kicks the bottom rope in anger. Lita is on the outside trying to calm her man down and he goes back to work on Michaels, looking a lot more focused here. Edge helps HBK to his feet by the hair and the he nails a boot to the midsection and locks HBK’s head under his arm and goes down for a DDT, but Shawn Michaels doesn’t drop down and Edge goes into the mat, with this strategy not working there. Michaels hits an elbow drop and then rises to his feet. He looks fired up and he raises his fists to the crowd, showing that he is still full of energy. Edge is back on his feet at this point and Michaels knocks him right back down with a solid punch. Edge gets right back up and HBK takes him back down again with a hard blow. Edge gets up a third time but when HBK goes for another punch, Edge ducks underneath and runs into the ropes. He comes back at HBK but Michaels has him scouted and as Edge jumps into the air for a flying forearm, HBK catches him perfectly to meet him and counter into a shoulder breaker. Edge rolls all the way to the outside and is holding his shoulder in agony. Lita checks on him and HBK also rolls to the outside, despite the referee’s objections. HBK grabs Edge by the hair in payback for moments ago and pulls him to his feet and tosses him hard into the steel steps, and HBK is livid after Edge’s antics as of late. The ref comes to the outside and has a word with Michaels, and the announcers state that Michaels must be careful not to get disqualified. HBK grabs a hurt Edge and throws him viciously back into the ring. HBK himself climbs up the steps, onto the apron and then to the top rope. He waits for Edge to rise to his feet, which takes the champion a considerable amount longer than moments before, and HBK then dives off, nailing the cross body, which takes him into a pin attempt:

---1---

---2---

Edge kicks out with a small amount of time left before the 3. HBK gets back on his feet and runs into the ropes. Edge has rolled onto his stomach and is about to get up when Michaels lands a running low dropkick. HBK then grabs Edge’s injured shoulder and wraps his legs around Edge’s upper arm, before locking in the triangle hold. Edge cries out in pain and HBK looks determined to cause him pain. Lita is on the outside looking in, but in reality she can do nothing to help Edge. Michaels has the hold locked in tightly. HBK eventually releases Edge from the hold, as it is apparent he has caused a lot of pain to Edge’s shoulder, but the champion will not give up the title at this stage by submitting. HBK pulls Edge to his feet by grabbing his shoulder to show that he isn’t letting up on Edge, and HBK then hits a suplex. He pulls Edge back to his feet, and lands his body slam and the crowd know what is coming next. The crowd are cheering HBK on and he has a huge opportunity right now to become the new WWE Champion. Michaels pulls Edge towards the turnbuckle and sets him in position for a high-risk move. Michaels climbs to the outside and then up to the top rope. Edge is still down and HBK stands up and dives off, hitting Edge with the top-rope elbow drop! The crowd give a huge cheer and HBK gets back on his feet and he can see the title in his sight now. Shawn Michaels moves over to the corner and starts to tune up the band to a huge reaction from the fans. They clap and chant along as HBK stamps his feet on the ground. Edge is slow to get to his feet and as he turns around, Shawn Michaels starts to run at him. HBK lifts his leg for the sweet chin music…but Edge ducks underneath and then grabs the back of HBK’s neck and drops him with the Edge O’ Matic! The fans boo heavily as Edge has Michaels’ legs bridged for the pin fall:

---1---

---2---

HBK just kicks out before the referee’s arm goes down for the count of three! The fans cheer as HBK kicks out and the title is still very much in the balance. Both men are feeling the pain this match has brought on them and they are very slow reaching their feet. Edge is slightly quicker to his feet and he lands the first blow on Shawn Michaels. However, the Heart Break Kid shows his courage and plants one of his own on Edge. They go back and forth, nailing shot after shot, each one causing an increasing amount of damage of one another. Edge, however, misses a punch after the battle and HBK grabs his arm and begins to unload punch after punch on the WWE Champion. He lands three consecutive blows and then Edge ducks a shot and nails a kick to the midsection. Edge hits a DDT and makes the slow cover on Michaels:

---1---

---2---

HBK gets a shoulder off the mat! The fans give another cheer for HBK and Edge looks very frustrated, as he thought he had the match won with that DDT. The champion is first to his feet and he has the advantage on HBK and uses this to send the challenger’s shoulder hard into the ring post. HBK stays against the turnbuckle and Lita comes over on the outside. Edge distracts the ref and Lita slaps Shawn Michaels, and then claws away on his face, but HBK shoves her away. HBK backs his way towards the middle of the ring but he walks into Edge, who takes him down with a German suplex into the bridged pin attempt:

---1---

---2---

HBK kicks out! Edge looks baffled once more that he did not keep Michaels down for the pin and Lita has to calm him down again. Edge regains his composure and pulls Michaels to his feet. He nails a boot to the midsection and shouts, “It’s overâ€. He locks Michaels’ head under his arm and attempts his Edgecution DDT for the second time this contest. Unlike before, Edge is able to land the Edgecution DDT and he makes the cover, possibly seeing the championship in his sight now:

---1---

---2---

HBK kicks out yet again! The fans roar with approval and start a “HBK, HBK†chant. However, Michaels is still down and is barely moving. Edge gets back on his feet and moves towards the corner. He crouches in position for the spear and if he lands this, surely the match will be over and Edge will have successfully retained his WWE Title belt. HBK begins moving on the mat and Edge is eagerly awaiting him to get to his vertical base. HBK starts to get up, and once he reaches his feet, he turns around. Edge runs at him and dives at HBK for the spear…but Shawn Michaels moves out of the way! Edge crashes into the turnbuckle pad and HBK turns around. Edge also turns and HBK plants him with the sweet chin music out of nowhere! HBK drops down for the cover and we must have a new champion now surely:

---1---

---2---

Lita grabs foot and places it on the bottom rope! The ref sees Edge’s foot and stops the count. The fans give huge hissing sounds and they are livid that HBK didn’t win the WWE Title there. HBK looks at Lita and tells the ref she must have placed Edge’s foot over the rope but the ref doesn’t listen.

HBK still has control at this point, and he pulls Edge up and sends him towards the turnbuckle. HBK runs at him and hits a diving body splash. He then digs some boots into the gut of Edge before lifting his opponent onto the top rope. HBK climbs to the second turnbuckle and positions Edge for the superplex. He pulls him down to the mat and lands this high impact move, but is looks as if HBK is equally hurt from this and his back is in pain, as is Edge’s shoulder. The referee begins the ten count, and Joey Styles points out that if he reaches ten on both competitors, then Edge will retain his title, and he feels it would be a shame for a match like this:

---1---

---2---

---3---

---4---

HBK rolls onto his stomach and puts an arm over Edge for the pin:

---1---

---2---

Edge gets a shoulder up just in time! The fans boo as HBK almost got the three count there but Michaels looks in the better shape and he goes back towards the turnbuckle and tunes up the band for the second time this contest. Just as Edge was about to get to his feet, Lita jumps onto the apron and grabs HBK’s hair behind him. Michaels’ attention is now on Lita and he brings her over the top rope and into the ring. The fans cheer as Lita pleads with him but HBK looks like he might hit her. However, he sees sense and lets her escape to the outside. Meanwhile, Edge has recovered to some extent and HBK turns around and the champion runs at him for the spear…but HBK avoids contact again and Edge spear’s the referee! Edge then turns into HBK’s sweet chin music for the second time and Michaels falls over him for the pin. There is no referee to make the count and HBK can’t believe it. Michaels count the three himself to show that he should be the champion right now and the fans chant along with him. Edge is down and out, and Lita climbs back into the ring, this time with Edge’s WWE Championship gold. She runs at HBK but he avoids contact and sends her all the way to the outside using her own momentum, but the title stays inside the ring.

HBK sees the title belt and picks it up. He looks down at Edge and smirks. The crowd cheer as they want him to nail Edge with the title belt and he gets in position to take a shot at the champion. Edge is finally moving again and he grabs the ropes to help him to his feet. However, Abyss – a member of the Edge Army – runs down to the ring with James Mitchell following and runs at HBK…but Michaels cracks him with a shot from the title belt. As HBK turns, Edge has recovered slightly and he runs at HBK and nails the spear! This is surely over now. Edge is about to cover HBK but he sees the ref still down and calls for Mitchell to enter the ring. Mitchell climbs inside and Edge tells him to pick HBK up. Mitchell does so and Edge grabs the title belt. He shows a sadistic smirk and runs at Shawn Michaels, nailing him with a shot to the head with his WWE Championship belt! Mitchell climbs out of the ring and takes the WWE Title with him to hide the evidence. Edge then drops to his knees, smiles, and hooks the leg of HBK. At this point, the ref is coming around and he makes the very slow pin count:

Quint's match was to choppy with all the announcing pauses while Spiral's flowed easily. So Spiral Shock gets my vote.

Ah i see now. After reading through a couple of matches i noticed my format was all wrong. Most people outline the match action in red to make it easier to read, and they don't have announcer pauses in between action most of the time. I did more of an efed style of match writing, so that could easily explain my grainy performance. Sorry about that guys.

CMS gets the vote. Dennin's was good but CMS's was WrestleMania level good.

For me personally, i believe both were a tad unrealistic for my tastes. I mean, John Cena and Undertaker can realistically "Go" for such a long match, especially main event Wrestlemania level such as it is. But honestly, for me CMS' attempt was just a bit generic for me. Everybody and their mother seems to use some sort of big name event ala Wrestlemania Main Event (featuring Orton, HBK, HHH, Jericho, Batista, CM Punk, Edge, Cena, Taker, you name it) and it makes the quality of the match very VERY easy to pull off. You don't exactly have to try hard to make a Wrestlemania World Title Main Event between John Cena and Undertaker look good.

On the other hand, we have Dennin, who was able to put on a similar level of clinic between two of the most unsuspecting clients, Colt Cabana and Chavo Guerrero. Although i see Dennins as unrealistic because their is no way in hell that the WWE, changed or not in its direction, would give Cabana and Chavo this much match time on an undercard match at Summerslam, or any show for that matter.

That being said for both, i believe that my vote is gonna have to go for Dennin. It takes alot of effort for a guy to be able to put on that kind of quality for two guys like Chavo and Cabana. While CMS was great as well, his defeating blow was the use of a generic setting, with generic main eventers, to achieve the same effect that Dennin accomplished.

^^Sorry but I have to disagree with some of what you are saying (nothing personal).

I understand what you are saying to a point about 'Taker/Cena being easy to pull off and make look good but is there any rule that says you have to challengeyourself as much as possible, no, so he has the right to choose whoever he likes to wrestle.

And as for you saying to Dennin that it is unrealsitic buecause WWE wouldn't give it the time. 1) This is BTB, not WWE, we are in control, not thme and 2) If he did write a shitty little match then he wouldn't stand a chance.

As for my reivews:
CMS: The backstory was pretty odd because I would've thought it would have ended in a triple threat match involving Punk as well (I know rules say 1 vs 1 but hear me out) and to make it jsut a one on one match seemed kinda weird for the storyline and it also left the World Champ without an opponent for WM. As for the amtch it was the same old stuff from both men which was boh good and bad at the same time if you get what I mean and I see you planned the match pretty well with most of the moves being done at the right part of the match but the end just seemed kinda too sudden like 1 second it's 16-0 and then it's 16-1 and their was really no emotion shown by either man all that was said was a couple of lines of commentary and that kinda disappointed me. 8/10

Dennin: Top marks for creativity and I am glad that you were brave enough to put these two in a match with eachother when everyone else tends to use ME'ers. Great backstory and it seems like you have tried to show a really personal feud between the two, especially on Chavo's side of the story and I think that it added some intensity to the match. during the match you deifnately showed both characters off well as the pissed heel vs the fan faovurite face by both actions and moves even though the match wasn't "thrilling" it still had me entertained to an extent and you made the match very much like a real life match from the moves you used to the way you used the characters. I was kinda suprised at Colt winning but there was no need for you to make Chavo break character imo, he wasn't retiring or anything. 7/10

My vote: CMS

Now here's my match:

CM Punk © Vs Shawn Michaels
World Heavyweight Championship

Backstory: With Jeff Hardy winning the Royal Rumble and electing to face Edge for the WWE Championship at Wrestlemania 25 Raw was left without a challenger for the title so the night after No Way Out, World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk made a speech, talking about how he has beaten all comers so far but he knows that he isn’t the best in the WWE. He then says that Shawn Michaels is the best and is the one man that he wants to beat. Punk says that if he wins the match on HBK’s own turf then he is officially the best competitor in the WWE but if HBK wins then he is not only the best, but also the champion. William regal then comes out and says HBK has to earn his title shot so he puts him in a battle royal with John Cena, Batista, Randy Orton, JBL and Kane and HBK comes out the winner after CM Punk helps him get the win. After the match HBK seems offended in a way and asks Punk to explain his actions and Punk says that facing HBK is the only option because he wants to be the best and he can’t prove that he is against anyone else because he has beaten all of them. Punk then starts to show signs of a heel turn, playing mind games with HBK, helping him win his matches every week, saying he wants HBK to be as fit as he can for their big match and on the final raw before Wrestlemania Punk helps HBK defeat JBL and Punk raises HBK’s arm in victory but he then lifts up HBK and hits him with a GTS as the show goes off air. In the Wrestlemania press conference the two then have an intense staredown with Punk now getting an immense amount of boos but he doesn’t care as long as he gets his man and Punk then spits in the face of HBK but the two men are separated by security before anything can happen so they can leave the fighting for their big match.

Video of the events between Punk and HBK, leading up to Punk nailing HBK with the GTS which get a huge amount of boos from HBK’s fans in his hometown of Texas

Michael Cole: Well there isn’t really much to this rivalry but that video summed up all there is to see between these two.
Jerry Lawler: Sorry, Cole but you don’t understand all there is to know about in-ring psychology. Until you have been in a match yourself you won’t realise the hatred between to men to prove who is the best and that’s what has been going down with CM Punk. He knew that HBK was the only man in his way of becoming the best so he went out of his way to get a match against him and Shawn Michaels realises that his title as the best is in jeopardy so he knows that it’s all on the line tonight against CM Punk.
Michael Cole: I see what you are talking about but was there any reason for CM Punk to do what he did on Monday?
Jerry Lawler: Well in his mind it was the smart thing to do. With a guy like Shawn Michaels you never know when he’ll hit you with a Sweet Chin Music and Punk knew Michaels was getting frustrated with him so he decided to strike before Shawn did. It may not have been the right thing to do but in Punk’s mind he done what he had to do.
Michael Cole: Well I never knew a rivalry like this would be more mental than physical but there is a lot more on the line than the World Heavyweight Championship is on the line. Shawn Michaels’ pride is on the line in front of his hometown and CM Punk is in this to be officially the best competitor in the WWE.

“This Fire Burns†hits and the crowd instantly erupts with boos for CM Punk, who emerges from the back, holding his World Heavyweight Championship tightly. He makes his way down the ramp shouting and cursing at the fans shouting “I’m better than all of you†to them and he then rolls into the ring and he climbs up onto the second rope and he holds up his title, which gets him even more boos and he then jumps down back onto the ring mat and raises his title again before handing it to referee Mike Chioda and then Lillian Garcia opens the match

Lillian Garcia: Now it is time for the Main Event of the evening! Introducing first from Chicago, Illinois, standing at 6’ 1, weighing in at 222 pounds, he is the reigning World Heavyweight Champion… CM PUNK!

The crowd boo Punk as he is introduced

“Sexy boy†hits and the crowd erupt with cheers as Shawn Michaels emerges from the back and looks ready for a fight as he gets the crowd going as he makes his way down the ramp and he drops down onto his knees as his pyro goes and he then jumps up to his feet and as he climbs up onto the apron, CM Punk leaves the ring and HBK then enters the ring and he climbs up onto the second rope, points at the Wrestlemania 25 sign, points at the crowd and then points at his heart and he makes a “that title is mine†sign as he jumps off the second rope and does his signature muscle pose and he then does a crotch chop as well to get the crowd cheering even louder

Lillian Garcia: And the challenger, from San Antonio Texas *crowd pops*, standing in at 6’ 1, weighing in at 225 pounds, he is the “Heartbreak Kidâ€â€¦ Shawn Michaels!

The referee places the title in between both men, allowing them to both have a touch and he then raises the title high in the air and the crowd cheer as both men go into their corners and HBK does a few poses to get the crowd behind him

Bell Rings: CM Punk walks straight into the centre of the ring and his lips are read saying “Sorry†and HBK seems forgiving as he walks into the middle of the ring and he also extends his hand but just before the two do shake hands CM Punk suddenly lifts up his hand and gives HBK a huge slap across the face and says “Didn’t see that coming did you old-timer?†and the crowd boo Punk once again. Punk then turns around with a cocky smile on his face and parades himself about to the crowd and every single person in that crowd is booing him and as Punk turns around, HBK hits him back with a slap just as hard and the crowd laugh at Punk. Punk holds his cheek in pain and HBK just grins and shrugs his shoulders and he then grabs Punk by his hair in the centre of the ring and he punches Punk repeatedly for about 20 seconds without stopping and HBK then stops punching and still holds his hair and Punk can’t even stand up straight and HBK then lets go of his hair and Punk drops down to his knees and HBK then suddenly gets serious and grabs punk by his jaw and says “Don’t you ever disrespect me†before slapping Punk once again and letting go of him as he drops down to the mat. HBK then walks over to the corner and he starts to stamp his foot on the mat ready for a Sweet Chin Music and he looks like he wants to end CM Punk in as little time as possible and as Punk slowly drags himself up to his feet and turns around, he spots HBK getting ready to hit him with the Sweet Chin Music and Punk quickly bails from the ring. Punk then walks around the outside of the ring shaking his head at HBK saying, “You won’t get me that easily†and HBK then walks towards Punk and climbs out of the ring to get him but Punk slides into the ring and punk then goes for a slingshot but HBK slides into the ring and Punk manages to shift gears and land on the apron but HBK suplexes him straight back into the ring almost as soon as Punk’s feet touch the apron! The crowd cheer wildly as a replay is shown of the previous 15 seconds and as the replay returns, HBK hooks Punk’s leg. 1… 2 Punk reaches out and grabs the bottom rope! HBK then gets back up to his feet and he pulls CM Punk up with him and he whips Punk to the ropes and as Punk rebounds off the ropes he slides in between HBK’s legs and gets up behind him and when HBK turns around, Punk kicks him in the gut and hits him with a swinging neckbreaker.

Jerry Lawler: Well the match has only just started but I’m still going to say this could quite possibly be one of the greatest Wrestlemania Main Events in history.
Michael Cole: With if it is going to be the best then what a Wrestlemania to hold this match at, Wrestlemania 25: The silver anniversary.

Punk then gets up and as HBK makes it halfway up to his feet, Punk then pulls him up so he is standing straight and he then swings a careless punch and HBK ducks below it and he locks Punk in a hammerlock from behind and Punk tries to escape and but HBK has a stronger grip than he expected and Punk then leans backwards onto HBK, sending HBK stumbling towards the ropes and CM Punk makes easy work of grabbing the ropes to break up the hold. As soon as HBK lets go of him, Punk drives two elbows directly backwards, straight into HBK’s face and Punk then turns around and kicks HBK in the back of the knee, dropping him down to a lowered position and Punk then grabs HBK’s head while he’s bent over and knees him in the face repeatedly, using both his left and right knees and then drops back and sends HBK’s face directly into both his knees with a double-knee facebuster and Punk quickly scrambles over to HBK’s body and hooks his leg for the pin. 1… 2 HBK kicks out! Punk then pins HBK again just to make sure it wasn’t a fluke that he kicked out. 1… HBK kicks out again! Punk gets up to his feet and he hits HBK with a hard chop as soon as he gets up to his feet and HBK replies with a chop of his own which is equally as hard and HBK and Punk trade chops with eachother for ages in the centre of the ring, with both mens chests as red as a rose and HBK soon gains the advantage with his higher pain endurance and he hits Punk with non-stop chops and Punk can’t even find a way to stop him so he decides to rake HBK in the eyes and he then tries to his a Russian legsweep but HBK elbows Punk off of him and when Punk recovers, he walks straight into an armdrag from HBK, who then applies an armbar on Punk. Punk yells out in pain as HBK bends Punk’s arm backwards as much as he can and Punk knows getting to the ropes is too hard in the position he’s in and he seems to be taking the pain like a man as he grits his teeth in pain but refuses to give up and Punk the raises his arm up and starts moving it around, hoping to grab HBK’s hair or anything that will help him escape the hold and he then finds the face of HBK and he swings his arm back and swings a punch at HBK’s face but HBK doesn’t break the hold and Punk thinks he’s weakened HBK and he starts to fight his way up to his feet and as he makes it half way up to his feet he suddenly turns the tide on HBK and hits a snapmare suddenly and locks him in a chinlock.

Michael Cole: Well so far it looks like both men are taking it steady. Both of these competitors have been known to have a wide array of moves ranging from high risk moves to these sort of moves. Do you think either man will hit a moonsault or anything of that sort, King?
Jerry Lawler: Trust me, with what is at stake in this match, both men will do whatever it takes to win this match.

CM Punk roughly shifts HBK into a position where he is sat up straight and he holds HBK still in the chinlock, repeatedly wrenching his arm to inflict more pain about every 15 seconds and Punk then takes one arm away and uses the other to lock HBK in a sleeper and Punk then uses his other arm to drive some forearms to the chin area of HBK, who is feeling the pain. Punk then re-applies the chinlock on HBK, who realises he can’t stay in the hold for much longer and he uses all the strength he has in his legs to push himself up as far as he can get and then he drops down and hits a stunner-like move to make Punk release the hold! HBK then gets back up, knowing he has to keep Punk off of him and as Punk comes towards him, HBK hits him with some forearms and then Irish whips him to the ropes and as Punk comes back off the ropes, HBK goes for a knee to the gut but Punk sees it coming and he rolls through and rolls HBK up in a schoolboy, but then switches it into a jacknife pin and when the referee starts his count, Punk puts him feet on the ropes. 1… 2 the referee stops his count when he notices Punk’s feet on the ropes and the crowd applaud the referee for his decision. Punk then slides out of the ring and he walks over to the timekeeper’s area and he throws the timekeeper out of his chair and he takes the chair and then climbs into the ring and the crowd are booing him loudly. The referee then has another confrontation with Punk, trying to take the chair from him but Punk won’t let him and it turns into a tug of war and as HBK recovers he hits CM Punk with a forearm from behind and sends CM Punk into the ropes and referee Mike Chioda is sent inadvertedly out of the ring though the middle rope and CM Punk still has the chair. CM Punk bangs the chair on the mat a few times, ready to swing it and HBK utters a few words to Punk while keeping his distance. HBK then seems to persuade Punk to put the chair down and Punk does so and Punk then walks towards HBK and the two look like their about to have a stare-down but Punk suddenly kicks HBK in the groin and HBK then crumbles down to the floor. Mike Chioda looks knocked out outside the ring and a new referee has yet to arrive and CM Punk opens up the chair and he closes it on the right knee of HBK and he then takes a step back before unleashing a hard stomp on the chair, crushing it onto the surgically repaired knee of HBK! Punk then takes the chair off of HBK’s knee as HBK is yelling out in pain on the mat and Punk grins, looking proud of his work and the crowd are now booing him louder than they have been all match and CM Punk then stands in the corner directly behind Shawn Michaels and is stalking him, waiting for him to get to his feet.

Jerry Lawler: I don’t think CM Punk has good plans for Shawn Michaels.
Michael Cole: Well if he’s doing what I think he’s going to do then he could take out HBK’s knee and leave him damaged for the rest of his career.

HBK starts to pull himself up using the ropes and CM Punk lines himself up directly behind HBK and as soon as Michaels makes it fully to his feet, Punk runs straight towards him and drives the top of the chair straight into the back of HBK’s knee and Shawn Michaels instantly goes down and is holding his knee like its badly injured. Punk then drops the chair over the top rope and down at ringside, knowing he’s done all the damage he needs to and he takes pleasure in seeing HBK rolling around on the mat in pain and a new referee finally runs down the ramp and slides into the ring and CM Punk then rolls HBK into the centre of the ring and pins him. 1… 2… HBK gets his shoulder up and the crowd erupts with cheers! CM Punk doesn’t seem to believe it as he gets up to his feet and lets HBK suffer down on the mat and Punk then decides to take the piss out of HBK by going into the corner and stomping his feet repeatedly and he then pretends to go for a Sweet Chin Music but he then playfully falls over and clutches his knee to mock HBK’s injured knee. The crowd chant “You Suck†repeatedly at CM Punk but the boos from the crowd only seem to make him happier as HBK tries to get up to his feet but as he reaches his knee he has to go back down to the mat because he can’t take his weight on the knee and CM Punk seems to enjoy watching HBK in a weakened state but his smile soon turns into a focussed look as he walks over to HBK and pulls him up to his feet and Punk holds HBK up for a few seconds and he then lifts HBK up onto his shoulders in a fireman’s carry and looks ready to his a GTS but HBK uses all he has left and wriggles his good leg to get out of the GTS and he then takes CM Punk down with a last gasp inverted DDT and the crowd cheer loudly as both men are down on the mat. HBK realises he needs to use the time that both he and Punk are down on the mat wisely and both men are seen taking deep breaths as they are led on their backs and Punk then starts to climb up to his feet and so does HBK. Punk makes it up to his feet as HBK still remains on one knee and Punk walks over to HBK and tries to pull him up to his feet but HBK punches him repeatedly in the gut and HBK then climbs up to his feet and he guides Punk over into the corner and HBK hits Punk with a few forearms and then climbs up onto the second rope and starts to deliver punches to the face of Punk. Punk then sees HBK’s already injured knee straight in front of him and unprotected and he hooks his arm around the leg of HBK and he forces it over the top rope and then tangles it up in the top rope and then shoves HBK and he ends up in a one-legged tree of woe and is dangling on his bad leg. HBK yells out in pain as Punk climbs up onto the second rope and places his right foot on the knee of HBK and pushes down on it which gets even more yells of pain from HBK and twice as many boos from the crowd and the referee then tells Punk off and he untangles HBK from the tree of woe and leaves him lying on his back on the mat.

Michael Cole: Wow, the knee seems like a bad place to hit in wrestling. It seems like with that bad knee, it opens up handfuls of opportunities for CM Punk to take advantage of.
Jerry Lawler: Yeah, and with someone like CM punk, if you leave your knee unguarded for a split second, he’ll find a way to inflict harm on that area.

CM Punk then climbs up to the top rope from the second rope and he looks down at HBK’s lifeless body down on the mat and Punk knows HBK has a lot of heart and he has a lot to do to be able to keep HBK down for the three count so he takes a deep breath anxiously and he leaps off the top rope and hits HBK with a 450 splash! Some of the crowd are even cheering Punk as a replay is shown of the move and Punk then hooks HBK'’ leg. 1... 2... HBK kicks out! CM Punk can’t believe he hasn’t finished of Michaels by now and he realises there is only one move left to do and he gets up to his feet and steps from side to side, waiting for HBK to get up to his feet and when HBK reaches his feet, punk lifts him up onto his shoulders but HBK slips off the shoulders of Punk almost instantly and when Punk turns around, HBK goes for a Sweet Chin Music but punk ducks and when HBK regains his balance and turns around, Punk hits him with a step-up enziguiri out of nowhere and HBK crumbles down to his knees and Punk then grabs HBK by his hair and hits him with some punches while he’s on his knees but HBK punches Punk in the gut to weaken him and HBK then grabs Punk by his ring gear and falls into the ropes and Punk tumbles out of the ring through the middle rope and crashes down to the arena floor. HBK then uses some extra time to recover and when he does reach his feet, CM Punk is up on the apron and HBK hits him with a European uppercut to keep him on the apron and HBK then climbs out onto the apron as well and he and Punk trade fists and Punk hits a jawbreaker on HBK on the apron and he then shoves HBK backfirst into the ring post and as HBK stumbles back towards him, Punk grabs his head and hits him with a bulldog off the apron and onto the arena floor! Many of the crowd are worried that HBK may be knocked out but Punk shows no remorse as he stomps on HBK and he then stands HBK up and shoves him up against the crowd barricade and Punk then proceeds to hit HBK with some strong punches and punishes him and Punk then walks towards the ring and climbs up onto the apron but HBK makes a quick recovery and pulls Punk off the apron by his feet and hits Punk with a strong right hook and HBK then jumps up onto the apron and then jumps up onto the second rope and hits Punk with a stunning Asai Moonsault! The crowd are in awe as the camera shows both men laid out on the arena floor and a slow motion replay shows Punk trying to catch HBK but is unsuccessful and as the camera goes back to the action the crowd are heard chanting HBK louder than ever.

Jerry Lawler: I have so much respect for Shawn Michaels because he always knows when he has to pull the rabbit out of the hat on the big stages like this.
Michael Cole: Yeah, it’s moments like these that will be remembered forever and trust me, Shawn Michaels must have had plenty of those moments by now.

HBK starts to pull himself up to his feet using the ring apron and as he pulls himself up far enough, he drags himself into the ring but CM Punk grabs him by his foot and pulls himself up to his feet and drags HBK back out of the ring and Punk hits HBK with an elbow to the side of the head and Punk then knees HBK in the gut and he drags him over to the crowd barrier and he stands to the right of HBK and hits him with a Russian legsweep straight into the crowd barrier! Punk also seems to have been damaged by the move and he rolls over onto all fours in pain and HBK is slumped across the crowd barrier, showing as little life as a human could and eventually Punk pulls himself up to his feet and he climbs into the ring and he waits for HBK to get to his feet and as HBK gets up, Punk runs to the ropes furthest from him and rebounds off of them and comes back towards HBK’s side of the ring and he goes for a suicide dive out through the middle rope but HBK moves and Punk goes crashing into the crowd barrier shoulder-first and loos like he may have injured himself. A replay shows Punk’s arm clicking back but when the referee tries to check up on him, Punk says he’s ok and the referee allows the match to go on, knowing how much is on the line HBK then recovers as much as he can at this point in the match and he then guides Punk halfway up to his feet and rolls him into the ring and HBK slides into the ring as well and he goes for the pin on Punk. 1… 2… Punk kicks out! HBK then gets up to his feet and he drags Punk up with him and HBK tries to go for a backdrop but Punk backflips over his head and clutches his shoulder upon landing but as HBK turns around, Punk hits him with a spinning wheel kick. Punk then pulls HBK up to his feet and drags him over to the corner and he sits HBK up on the top rope and he then climbs up onto the second rope and tries to go for a superplex but HBK won’t let him and Punk tries many times to prise HBK’s hands off the top rope but HBK is staying put and Punk suddenly tries to surprise HBK and go for a frankensteiner but HBK still stays on the top rope and Punk has yet another awkward landing on his shoulder and he looks badly hurt as he lays chest-down on the mat. HBK then comes down from the top rope and rolls Punk over for the pin. 1… 2… Punk gets his foot on the rope! HBK then looks at the turnbuckle and gets a small grin on his face to imply he has an idea and he drags CM Punk across the ring so he’s fairly close to the centre and HBK then climbs out onto the apron and climbs up to the top rope from there and he stands tall on the top rope and looks around his hometown arena and looks slightly emotional as he looks at Punk and leaps off the top rope and hits Punk with a Diving Elbow Drop! HBK hooks Punk’s leg and the referee starts to count. 1… 2… Punk gets his shoulder up just before the 3 count and the crowd cannot believe it!

Michael Cole: Wow, both men has shown huge amounts of resilience and I have no idea what it’s going to take to keep either man down for the three count.
Jerry Lawler: But you haven’t realised that neither man has been able to use their finishing moves yet, which could make the difference.

HBK is in just as much disbelief as every single member of the crowd and he knows there is one move he still hasn’t hit on CM Punk and HBK quickly rolls up to his feet and tries to walk but his knee buckles on him as he’s walking and HBK drops down onto one knee and he clutches his knee in pain but he then fights through it and gets up and limps to the corner and he then turns around and starts to tune up the band, stomping his foot (his bad one) delicately onto the mat and CM Punk starts to get up and HBK starts to tune up the band faster and as soon as Punk reaches his feet, HBK goes for a Sweet Chin Music but Punk grabs the leg of HBK and Punk then sees the referee right behind and he swings HBK around by his leg and HBK’s foot hits the referee straight in the face and knocks him down! Punk then climbs out of the ring and HBK follows him out of the ring and Punk rips the cover off the announce table but HBK then reaches him and turns him around and hits him with a few punches and Punk then ends up on top of the announce table and HBK then takes out the two mini TV’s and he then climbs up onto the apron and makes sure he is in line with the announce table and he jumps up onto the second rope and goes for another Asai Moonsault but Punk rolls off of the announce table and HBK goes crashing into the table but it doesn’t break! Punk then gets up and starts to pound HBK on his back while he’s led on the announce table and Punk then drags HBK off of the announce table and he then forces HBK back into the ring and Punk then climbs into the ring and starts to stomp on HBK repeatedly until he decides to pull HBK up to his feet but as soon as HBK is stood up fully, he shoves Punk back and hits him with a Sweet Chin Music out of nowhere! HBK then falls onto Punk but there is no referee and the crowd are counting the numbers and they reach 7 and a new referee runs down the ramp, slides into the ring and starts to count. 1… 2… Punk kicks out and the title is still his for now! HBK is pissed off with the referee for taking too long and HBK and the ref have an argument and HBK nearly loses his temper and nearly punches the referee but he realises that he can’t get himself disqualified but before he knows it CM Punk rolls him up in a schoolboy from behind! 1… 2 HBK kicks out!

Michael Cole: This is one hell of a back and forth match and I’m surprised at how much pain these two men are fighting through after all the pain they’ve gone through.
Jerry Lawler: Well CM Punk has faced many opponents like Big Daddy V who have a huge size advantage but he’s never faced a challenge as hard as the “Heartbreak Kidâ€.

HBK and Punk get up at the same time and Punk is holding his head and the two men stand about two and a half metres away from eachother and Punk tries to go for a swinging kick to HBK’s head but HBK crouches low to duck it and he then hits CM Punk with a trio of forearms and he whips Punk to the ropes and as Punk comes back, HBK hits him with an inverted atomic drop and HBK then runs to the ropes and comes back and goes for a lariat but Punk ducks it and when HBK turns around, Punk kicks him in the gut and hits him with a huge DDT, driving HBK’s head straight into the mat! Punk hooks HBK’s leg. 1… 2… HBK kicks out! Punk then gets up to his feet and climbs out onto the apron and then up to the top rope and when HBK gets up Punk dives off the top rope and hits him with a flying crossbody and hooks his leg for the pin but the momentum sends HBK on top and CM Punk with his shoulders on the mat and HBK hooks Punk’s leg. 1… Punk kicks out quickly in panic. Punk and HBK then trade punches as they climb up to their feet and CM Punk levels HBK with a strong punch, sending him off balance and Punk then whips HBK to the ropes and HBK rebounds off the ropes and comes back towards Punk and hits him with his signature flying forearm and he then tries to do a kip-up back to his feet but he fails to as he doesn’t have enough strength left in his body and it is a prime example of how much he has put his body through thus far. HBK gets up the traditional way and Punk also does 2 or 3 seconds later and HBK walks over to Punk but ends up receiving a knee to the gut and Punk then tosses HBK shoulder first into the ring post! HBK comes out of the corner holding his shoulder in pain and he walks straight into Punk, who quickly takes HBK down with an STO and Punk then applies the Anaconda Vise! Punk is desperate to get the win and will now do anything it takes, including performing a few moves he hasn’t done in years and HBK is stranded in the middle of the ring with nowhere to go and Punk is screaming at HBK to tap out but HBK is refusing to give up in front of his hometown and Punk tries to move himself into the best position possible so he can cause as much pain as he can on HBK but HBK knows that if he wants to be World Champion then he can’t tap out at any costs and Punk leans backwards as far as he can so he can stretch HBK’s body as much as he can and HBK uses his free arm to pound away at the head of CM Punk but Punk still holds on but HBK then uses his legs to drag himself across the mat and CM Punk knows that he has to stop HBK but he is being dragged along as well and he can’t stop HBK as he drags himself over to the ropes and grabs them by wrapping his legs around them and looks like he’s never going to let go and Punk is forced to break up the hold and now looks pissed at the fact he can’t finish off HBK.

Michael Cole: I wonder what’s going through the mind of CM Punk. He has done nearly everything in his power and he still can’t win this match by either pinfall or submission.
Jerry Lawler: Well all Punk has left is the GTS and if that doesn’t finish off Shawn Michaels then I don’t know what will.

Punk then sees HBK on one knee and he runs towards him and hits him with a strong Shining Wizard and Punk knows HBK mustn’t have a lot left and goes for the pin. 1… 2… HBK kicks out! Punk pulls HBK up to his feet and HBK doesn’t know where he’s at as Punk takes a deep breath an then hits HBK with a stunning dropkick but it doesn’t take HBK down as he stumbles across the ring and falls into the ropes and Punk then drags HBK back into the centre of the ring and lifts him up onto his shoulders for the GTS and he hits it on HBK and it must be over now! HBK still doesn’t fall to the floor and he stumbles into the ropes and Punk tries to grab him but HBK falls out of the ring through the middle rope and Punk then falls down onto his knees in exhaustion and he soon recovers and rolls out of the ring and he pulls HBK up and says “it’s all over now†and shoves him onto the apron and Punk enters the ring and he rolls HBK away from the ropes and he hooks his leg for the cover. 1… 2… HBK somehow gets his shoulder up! Punk cannot believe it as he was already celebrating like he won only to have his hopes dashed and he takes a few moments to get his breath back and to think about things before getting up to his feet and Punk knows he has nothing left to do so he’s going to have to think of something creative and he is urging HBK to get back up to his feet and as HBK nearly reaches his feet he stumbles and falls over and HBK then gets onto all fours and tries to recover for a moment before pulling himself up to his feet slowly and as he turns around he sees Punk and his instincts make him try and swing a punch but Punk ducks and he turns HBK around and Irish whips him to the ropes and as HBK rebounds off the ropes, Punk leapfrogs over his head but HBK manages to stop himself running and as Punk lands back on the mat and turns around, HBK hits him with a Sweet Chin Music and falls onto Punk for the pin. 1… 2… 3!

WINNER AND NEW CHAMPION: SHAWN MICHAELS

HBK climbs up onto his knees as the referee hands him the World Heavyweight Title and confetti rains down from the top of the arena into the ring and as HBK gets up to his feet, he leaves the ring with his title and he walks around the outside of the ring, shaking every single fan member in the front rows hand and he then makes his way past the announce tables where he shakes hands with all announcers from all 3 brands and he then rolls back into the ring where CM Punk is getting to his feet and HBK helps him up to his feet and he offers CM Punk a handshake but Punk refuses and he leaves the ring and walks away shaking his head but HBK’s celebration continues as he wipes the tears from his eyes and he raises the title high above his head and drops down onto his knees in emotion as the show comes to an end

Well to elaborate a little bit on my position, both matches were pretty well done, but i believe it takes more effort to make Colt Cabana and Chavo Guerrero look like legends than it would for John Cena and The Undertaker. One member voted saying that CMS was "Wrestlemania good". Well, the match setting was after all....at Wrestlemania. It's supposed to be Wrestlemania good. Anything less would have been a dissaopointment. So while we were expecting nothing but the best from CMS' match, you look at Dennins match, which would most likely be an undercard contest for Summerslam, probably opening up the show, and they tear the house down. Totally unexpected, and refreshing.

So like i said, both matches were top notch quality. But i still feel that the effort was there just a tad bit more for Dennin than it was for CMS. But that's just my vote ya know? It seems pretty unanimous otherwise that CMS has been picked.

Backstory: At the Great American Bash, Chris Jericho took on Shawn Michaels. This began a new Jericho, a ruthless, sadistic Jericho. In that match he injured Shawn Michaels knee and put him out of action for 6-8 months, and HBK still hasn’t returned. At Summerslam, Rey Mysterio took on Jericho to try and get redemption to what happened to Shawn Michaels, but in the end Chris Jericho got himself DQed after a low blow. Rey and Y2J went at it again at Unforgiven in a No Holds Barred match. Jericho won after he injured Rey’s knee as well, adding to his hitlist. No Mercy was the stage of the return of the Undertaker to Monday Night Raw. He was on a special edition of the Highlight Reel, where Chris Jericho continually trash-talked him until the Deadman gave him a chokeslam for good measure. They faced off at Cyber Sunday, where the fans voted that the match would be a Steel Cage match. Undertaker won this match and afterwards, Chris Jericho went berserk and put the referee in the Walls of Jericho, until security made him release the ref. This psychotic Jericho continued to dominate, and he was part of the Smackdown VS Raw Survivor Series match. During the match, he attacked a returning Rey Mysterio who was traded to Smackdown for Undertaker, getting himself DQed. Before Jericho left though, he laid waste to Mysterio with a chair, igniting the feud once again. At Armageddon, the two faced off with the winner getting a shot at their respective championship at the Royal Rumble. Jericho won after the Walls of Jericho, and got himself a match against the man who won the World Heavyweight Championship, at Survivor Series, none other than the Undertaker. And here we are, the Royal Rumble 2009, Chris Jericho VS Undertaker, World Heavyweight Championship on the line!

Royal Rumble 2009
World Heavyweight Championship
Chris Jericho VS Undertaker (c)

Cole: This is it folks, the big money match-up on Raw. Chris Jericho has been on a reign of terror since injuring HBK back in July, he even faced Undertaker in a Steel Cage match prior to him becoming world champion at Survivor Series.

King: This is sure to one hell of a match-up, the Deadman, the 7 time world champion taking on Chris Jericho, someone who has been on a huge roll as of late, I don’t think even the Deadman can stop him claiming the World Heavyweight Championship!

Jericho saunters down to the ring as the fans pour boos down upon him. He doesn’t care, and has his eyes transfixed upon the World Heavyweight Championship as the Deadman walks to the ring. When Undertaker walks up onto the apron, still with his trench-coat and hat on, Jericho leaps off the second rope and nails the champion in the skull with a triangle dropkick! Undertaker plummets to the mat as Jericho waits for him to get up, flying over the top rope and nailing a plancha

King: Y2J wasting little time going after Undertaker!

Cole: But this match-up still hasn’t begun, Undertaker never entered the ring!

Jericho rips off Undertakers trench coat and grabs the championship belt. He stares at it, like his new born baby. Undertaker is getting to his feet near the steps, and Y2J runs at him preparing to strike him with the championship belt, but Undertaker dodges ad drop toe holds Jericho face first onto the steel ringsteps!! As Chris stumbles away he is met by a big boot, before Undertaker throws him into the ring. ‘Taker climbs in with an angry look on his face as Jericho uses the ropes to get back to his feet. Undertaker walks towards him, but Chris dropkicks the Deadman in the knee which sends him onto the second rope. Jericho then speeds across from the opposite side of the ring and drops his leg across Undertakers back, the champion clutching his back in pain on the mat. Jericho puts one foot on Undertaker in a cocky pin which gets a lot of heat, with Undertaker kicking out at the one count. Jericho tries to pull ‘Taker up, but gets a right hand slammed into his gut to a big pop. Undertaker continues to pummel Jericho with rights and lefts, before throwing him into the turnbuckle face first, then running from the other side of the ring and going for the big boot-but Y2J dodges and low bridges ‘Taker, who flies over the top rope and crashes down to the floor

Cole: What a high octane match-up!

King: I’d definitely give Jericho the edge though, Undertakers hurting, I can tell

As the referee begins to count out ‘Taker, who is clutching his lower back, Jericho leans on the turnbuckle, using his body to conceal him removing the turnbuckle cover. Undertaker gets up onto the apron at about 7 and Chris walks over to him, only to have the Deadman wrap his hand around Y2J’s throat to a big pop. Jericho elbows Undertaker in the forehead before putting him in a front facelock and suplexing him over the top rope into the ring, only getting a 2 count. Jericho is once again irate, as he usually is after a near fall, and taunts Undertaker as he gets to his feet. Chris jumps up for a Codebreaker, but Undertaker catches him and throws him to the mat!! Jericho runs at Undertaker but is met with a face full of foot by the champion, Chris leaps back up and Undertaker tries to throw him into the turnbuckle. Jericho counters and Undertaker crunches into the metal ring Chris uncovered earlier in their match back first, before falling to the mat and holding his back.

King: There’s that turnbuckle coming into play, adding to the pain already consuming Undertaker!

Jericho laughs sadistically as he stands over the Deadman before pulling him into the middle of the ring by the hair. He drops several knees into Undertakers low back, before running up to the ropes for the Lionsault, hitting it across the Deadmans prone body.

No!

Cole: Somehow, the Undertaker manages to kick out of the Lionsault, he truly has the heart of a champion, which he’s proved many times throughout his storied 20 year career!

Jericho once again gets to his feet angrily shaking his head mouthing ‘You should’ve stayed down’. Chris grabs Undertaker by the hair and once again screams it in his face, before the Deadman grabs Jericho by the throat, gets him up in the air and drops him with a thunderous chokeslam!!

No!!!

Y2J grabbed the bottom rope! ‘Taker gets up though and continues the attack, performing his infamous throat slit taunt and pulling Chris up for the Tombstone!! Jericho si ready for it though, spinning around and getting in a hurracanrana, catapulting the Deadman into the referee, who falls to the outside. Jericho grabs the Deadman and puts him in the Walls of Jericho, the champion in dire need of a rope break! Finally, undertakers back can take no more punishment and he taps, but the referee is out cold! Chris gets up thinking he’s the champion, but when he realises he isn’t, he goes berserk screaming and kicking the ropes.

King: That belt has done things in this young mans mind, he needs a doctor!

Cole:
Chris Jericho has finally snapped, look where he’s headed!

Jericho goes over to ringside and grabs the title belt, before sliding back into the ring. But before he can hit Undertaker with it, he stares at it, transfixed as he was earlier. ‘Taker takes advantage and grabs Jericho, hoisting him up for his Last Ride!! Jericho snaps out of his trance though, and drills the belt into the skull of the Deadman. Jericho falls down on top of ‘Taker, but the ref is still out! Jericho once again chucks a tantrum, before grabbing Undertaker and battering him from pillar to post like a wild man. Suddenly, we hear the familiar tunes of ‘Sexy Boy’. Chris snaps his head up from Taker and stares down at the ramp way

Cole: Could it be King! The return of Shawn Michaels!?

Jericho stares down at the ramp, but HBK slides in behind him as the crowd goes off the chain! Jericho turns around, thinking it was just a technical error, when HBK knocks him to the mat with Sweet Chin Music!! The crowd is going ape shit still as Shawn throws the referee back into the ring. Undertaker performs his throat slit taunt before nailing a Tombstone to Chris Jericho!

All matches are good and i would do more of a review type answer to why i chose if i had the time, but then again all the matches were close one way or another.

C1 vs F1
Rosewt01 vs Roxxi

Roxxi wins this one especially since it is hard to write matches for women wrestlers.

C2 vs F2
Echelon vs Riggs

Echelon wins this one, sort of same reason as why roxxi won but adding the fact that he used unknown wrestlers which is a risk he was willing to take and still made the match readable, also was easier to read with diffrent colors.

C3 vs F3
Michael1 vs Rydog

Rydog wins this, he is banned but still wins this round. this match also shows what he can o so i have no idea why he had to steal a btb

Well I was going to write this match for CWA hence the Backstory. I had already written the backstory as well.

Gregory Helms then makes his way down to the ring with the primetime title strung over his shoulder. He climbs into the ring and He poses with the title and then snatches a a mic from a ringside worker.

Gregory Helms: Now as all of you know I retained this title by my side, with ease last night. Carlito had no chance of beating me, and as it seems, He met his better so tonight I am issuing an open challenge to anyone in the locker room.

Helms waits for about a minute but Nobody comes out. Helms starts to laugh but suddenly Carlito appears on the titantron. Carlito takes a bite of his apple before looking to Helms.

Carlito: The only reason, I am not at the arena tonight is because you slammed a chair across my head last night. Also the only reason you still hold that title is because you purposely got DQ'ed last night so in my cotract. I have a rematch clause if my opponent gets himself DQ'ed in a title match I got a rematch

Helms: Well get down to this ring so that I can beat your arse once again. See you are no match for these skills so see if you can try and beat me again.

Carlito: Well Gregory I am happy that you are so willing to face me but right now I not in the arena but I know a place where we can settle this. Four weeks from now at CWA's second PPV. MINDGAMES.

Funaki's music hits as He walks taunting the crowd as Carlito goes off of the titantron and Helms just laughs to himself. Funaki enters the ring as the bell is rung.

Helms then is charged at by Funaki and Helms hits an arm drag throwing him across the ring. Funaki quickly returns to his feet and then Helms managges to kick him in the midsection before locking in a front face lock and hitting a snap suplex throwing him down to the mat. Helms quickly returns to his feet and waits for Funaki tio get back up and then Helms hits a kick to the midsection before hitting a swinging neckbreaker on Funaki and then following it up with a pin 1... kickout by Funaki. Helms then gets baack to his feet with a sick smirk on his face before lifting Funaki up and sending him to the ropes with an Irish whip and Helms telegraphs the back body drop and Funaki rolls off the back off Helms and then hitting a overhead bulldog in a beautiful combination. Funaki then runs the ropes as He returns to his feet aqnd springboards and hits a Moonsault to the back of Helms before quickly returning to his feet. Funaki then lifts Helms up and gives him an Irish whip into the corner and then running and looking to hit a monkey flip Helms moves out of the way and Funaki hits the turnbuckles with both legs simultanouesly. Helms then hits a lowkick pushing the legs of Funaki once again into the turnbuckle. Helms then lifts Funaki back to his feet and then whips him to the ropes and Funaki slowly returns and Helms hits a kick to the midsection before hitting a white russian leg sweep on Funaki who falls to the mat hard. Helms then starts hitting hard stomps to the back of Funaki's knee. Helms then runs the ropes before dropping an elbow to the back of the knee of Funaki and then Helms pulls the leg back and Funaki yells out in pain before only just refraining to tap. Helms noqw gets fed up with waiting and then He releases the hold and rolls him onto his back before then making the pin 1...2... kickout by Funaki. Helms then returns to his feet before lfting Funaki back to his feet and sending him across the ring and then hitting a huge shoulder block knocking Funaki down.

Helms then taunts the crowd to many boos before Funaki hits a run around and hits a kick to the back of the knee. Helms then goes down to a knee and then Funaki slowly returns to his feet and with his legs still hurting before running the ropes and then hitting a double knne drop to the back of Helms. Funaki then slowly returns to his feet once again before lifting Helms up to his feet and sending him to the turnbuckle but Helms reverses it and sends Funaki hard into the turnbuckle before running in himself and clotheslining him into the corner and then Helms moves back and as Funaki stumbles out Helms hits a huge scoop slam on Funaki. Helms then drops an elbow to the midsection of Funaki before making the pin and hooking both Legs 1...2... kickout by Funaki. Helms then gets back to his feet himself and holds his lower back before He climbs up onto the top rope and sits with his feet on the second rope and his Bum on the top. Funaki then slowly returns to his feet and stumbles to regain his composure and then Helms leaps and hits a crossbody off the second rope and this takes them both down to the mat. Helms then tries to return to his feet and finally does before taunting the crowd to many boo's before waving them away before once again taunting but for the shining wizard this time. Helms then advances but Funaki ducks into a drop toe hold on Helms driving his face into the canvas. Funaki then quickly returns to his feet and as Helms does Funaki hits a quick superkick on Helms knocking him to the mat. Funaki then goes to lift Helms back up but Helms hits a sit out jawbreaker and Funaki falls back to the ropes and then Helms Runs at him but Funaki falls down to the mat and Helms goes over the top rope but holds onto the top rope and then skins the cat and Funaki is walking across the ring trying to regain his thoughts.

Helms then gets him to the back with a clubbing forearm. Funaki falls forward and then Helms gets him in a leaning forward position after a kick to the midsection before running the ropes and then hitting a neckbreaker on Funaki who falls motionless to the mat. Helms then makes the pin on Funaki thinking he has the win 1... Funaki gets his foot on the ropes but the referee does not see 2.. the referee notices and calls for the break. Helms gets up angrily and hits a hard stomp to the chest of Funaki. Helms lifts Funaki up before sending him to the ropes and as Funaki comes back bends down and goes for a back body drop as Funaki stops and hits a hard kick to the head of Helms who stumbles back. Funaki then runs in and hits a heel lariat on Helms who falls down to the mat. Funaki then returns to his feet getting the momentum before climbing up to the top rope. Funaki then leaps off the top rope for a crossbody as Helm returns to his feet and Helms leaps off of his feet and hits a dropkick to the Midsection of Funaki who falls back down to the mat hard. Helms then crawls over to make the cover on Funaki 1...2... Funaki kicked out, Funaki kicked out. Helms can't believe it as He returns to his feet. Funaki rolls over before getting onto his hands and knees. Helms then moves back before running in and hitting the shining wizard on Funaki before dropping down to make the pin 1...2...3
