Friday Night SmackDown #1095 - August 21, 2020

Was John Morrison fearless or simply brave, for wanting revenge on the Fiend for his senseless attack just a few weeks ago. With two days remaining until the Interdimensional Warfare showdown against Jeff Hardy’s extreme and sadistic alter ego, Brother Nero had to be waiting in the shadows when “the New Face of Fear” did battle with “the Guru of Greatness”.

Decreeing himself to being “the Working Man’s Champion”, since capturing the WWE Intercontinental Championship at Backlash, Daniel Bryan had been every bit of one. With an open challenge issued for SummerSlam right around the corner, Fight Night looked to jeopardize the likelihood of such a challenge even taking place!

In forty-eight hours, Mandy Rose’s SmackDown Women’s Championship prospects would be revealed to be a great display of foresight, or a heartbreaking defeat. “The Precious Peach” was unquestionably experiencing symptoms of self-doubt moments from the biggest match of her young career, against Bayley at SummerSlam. But first, “the Golden Goddess” was tasked with taking on her best friend and confidante, fellow WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion Sasha Banks.

PLUS: Big E comes for revenge against the men responsible for robbing the New Day of their SmackDown Tag Team Championship opportunity last week, taking on the Royal Family’s King Corbin…Months of privacy invaded and unruly attacks had brought Mustafa Ali and Dolph Ziggler to a showdown - but who would come out on top?...The beef with Mickie James and Lacey Evans is hoped to be rectified with an edition of ‘A Moment of Bliss’ with Alexa Bliss, but would this be it for the rivalry or simply make it worse?

Io Shirai faces her stiffest competition to date when she defends the NXT Women's Championship against Rhea Ripley and Dakota Kai in a Triple Threat match.

In a war of attrition between two men who have played with fire and both been burned, Karrion Kross looks for revenge on behalf of his scalded better-half Scarlett, battling Damian Priest.

Keith Lee puts the NXT North American Championship on the line as he strives to protect his grandmother's honor against the highly-disrespectful and undefeated "Absolute" Ricky Starks.

The Cruiserweight Division has been in disarray since Santos Escobar captured the NXT Cruiserweight Championship and formed Legado del Fantasma. Against Lucha House Party and a partner to be named, this Trios match looks to serve the power struggle.

Drew McIntyre's fairytale reign as WWE World Champion faces its' toughest competition to date when he puts the title on the line against the driven Head of the Church, Seth Rollins.

Monday Night RAW #1422 - August 24, 2020

The ThunderDome Era has arrived in the WWE, and in the fallout of SummerSlam, who knows what to expect when the WWE World Champion Drew McIntyre turns up to discuss his hard-fought victory over Seth Rollins! Faced with a new challenger, “the Scottish Terminator” finds himself in uncharted waters against a familiar enemy.

He made a shocking return that stunned the WWE Universe twenty-four hours ago at “the Biggest Party of the Summer”, and now for the first time since being Punt Kicked in the head at Money in the Bank in May, Edge makes his return to Monday Night RAW to talk about Randy Orton.

She defeated Mandy Rose to retain the SmackDown Women’s Championship last night, but now with number one contenders named, Bayley is expected to make a special appearance. With the Riott Squad scheduled to meet them this coming Sunday at Payback, who knows what to expect from “the One Over All” especially with Sasha Banks seemingly gone AWOL.

With their leader falling short of victory at SummerSlam, the RAW Tag Team Champions find themselves with some stiff competition in Ricochet and Cedric Alexander. Controversy plagued the Pat McAfee Show yesterday afternoon when the former All Pro hosted a special guest - the former NXT Champion Adam Cole. Both egos were known to be inflated to a huge disproportion, which had to have been a poorly thought idea from the start. With his loss in the Iron Man match weighing on his mind, what did “the Panama City Playboy” have to say to the SuperBowl player?

Victorious in a sixty-minute classic at NXT TakeOver XXX, Finn Bálor was faced with a new imposing force in the villainous and mysterious Karrion Kross. Flanked by Scarlett, it appeared that “the Tollman” was to lay his claim on the NXT Championship - what would Kross have to say with a live microphone before the Full Sail University?

Two bad women lock up when Rhea Ripley goes head-to-head with the insurance policy of Dakota Kai - Raquel González. Does “Big Mami Cool” have what it takes to get the job done against the imposing “Brutalist”, or will the titan be overcome by the former NXT Women’s Champion. Back and bigger, badder and meaner than ever before, "the Colossus" was ready for Payback where he would finally look for revenge on Sheamus. But first, Braun had unfinished business with the Royals - namely King Corbin. With the match set for Sunday, how would "the Monster Among Men" fare against the leader of the Royal Family?

Interdimensional Warfare saw two mad men go to war in a match that transcended reality, only to go thwarted by the unexpected return of "the Big Dog". Tonight, with the WWE Universal Championship on the line, the Fiend goes to war with Jeff Hardy again in a Triple Threat match also including Roman Reigns. For the first time since WrestleMania, "the Head of the Table" heads into battle with his new right-hand man Paul Heyman. Who will prevail as the domineer of Friday Night SmackDown?

A wounded and scorned "Scottish Terminator" found himself worse for wear after a diabolical beating courtesy of Seth Rollins. Coming seven days after his SummerSlam loss, "the Monday Night Messiah" has pushed the envelope far enough to receive one more opportunity to become WWE World Champion. The catch? It takes place in a No-Disqualification match! Will the Head of the Church come away with the title, or will Drew McIntyre continue his reign of supremacy?

Asuka lost the RAW Women's Championship to Charlotte Flair at SummerSlam, with much sore needed help from an associate of "the Queen", Nia Jax. One week after "the Biggest Party of the Summer", Charlotte has agreed to give "the Empress of Tomorrow" her rematch - but it comes with the threat that if the former champion fails in her efforts, she can never challenge again for the very gold she has held for the past four months.

WrestleMania 2000 did not go the way anybody expected. Yet on this fateful night, the newly-assembled McMahon-Helmsley Faction have even more plans for The Rock that intend to stack the odds against his favor. What will they have in store for 'the People's Champ' tonight?

He was screwed out of the WWF European Championship and betrayed by someone he thought was his friend on Monday night, and now Chris Jericho had an axe to grind with Eddie Guerrero and Chyna. After making a brisk getaway in the lo rider of 'Latino Heat' on RAW is WAR, what would the new champ and 'the Ninth Wonder of the World' have to say to the people - and what might happen when Y2J makes his presence known?

The Big Show was out to expand his resumé, as evidenced by his imitation of Val Venis on Monday. 'The Big Showbowski' did not make any friends with the members of Too Cool, after taking Grandmaster Sexay out in destructive fashion. Now 'the Big Nasty Bastard' had to deal with Rikishi Phatu. In what was sure to be one of the biggest matches to hit SmackDown! in its' short history, close to a tonne of beef was scheduled to meet in the center of the ring!
