I went with part 1 because it's the only one I've actually played. I own both but haven't got to the sequel yet.

2 for me pretty easily even though admittedly I didn't play near as much of the first one. I put in way too many hours on 2 and still get an itch to go play more, easily one of my favorite open worlds ever. Even little shit like hunting, fishing, and poker kept me entertained for hours.
