I think that's fair, I generally just use broad criteria bc I don't feel like policing nominations. Others feel similar so I don't think the aliens and predators are long for the tournament anyway even if they make it past this round

Xenomorphs entire look is based off penises....so I guess they would win under that dick measuring criteria.

Great horror movie but the television mini series was a better adaptation.
In my entire forum life, I have never heard anyway else say this, but I highly agree with you.

Anyone saying that Stanley Kubrick's movie is the best adaptation is just delusional. Is it a horror masterpiece? Absolutely, I still remember some scenes that scared me shitless. Jack Nicholson's performance was amazing too.

But the mini series is way more faithful to the book, whether people like it or not. It even includes the animals sculptures that Kubrick left out, the igloo scene, and the original ending.

Stephen King himself said he prefered that version when it came to adapting his work, which is why his name is on the poster while he wanted it off Kubrick's.

People in general will disagree with you because they think you mean it's a better movie.

Most people forget that Stephen King, as much of a horror legend that he is, doesn't want people taking his books too seriously.

I mean, the man directed Maximum Overdrive to his specifications and to how he wants people to view his stories. Which are insane and ultimately lighthearted tales about some spooky stuff.

What's your point? :hmm

Also he was coked up through most of the shooting of Maximum Overdrive and George Romero directed half of the movie for him so I wouldn't take it as an example of what King wants.

It was just a general observation. :francis

How can one be delusional for liking one piece of film over another lol, that's a terrible take

I agree with Haza too btw, but I still voted for Xenomorph because Alien is just wicked

also its a weird choice because Jack is both the protagonist and the villain

Honestly, all of my votes were based on "What is scarier?" and "Which one I am less likely to live from?"

Because it's not about taste. If you can't admit that one adaptation is more faithful to the novel than another, you're delusional.
