I’ve been saying this about stables, especially. Everyone always says that they have to have some kind of shelflife and I’m like no the fuck they don’t. As long as you’re not just doing the same like overarching storyline with them the entire time you can have a group of wrestlers that stay aligned for as long as they want. I just look at New Japan all the units are like 10+ years old.

It’s honestly very interesting to see how much the culture in wrestling philosophy has changed over the years because we go back and look at every iteration of DX. I don’t think a single one of their runs lasted longer than a year and change, but if DX had gotten together today, they would’ve kept them together at least five years.

I actually think a lot of money was lost by constantly splitting them up in 99 and 2000.

To be fair, I do think had biggie specifically turned on Kofi… It would’ve been a pretty huge moment.

Still it’s very cool that they haven’t split up.

I agree it doesn’t need to be done every time, but to be honest, most things in wrestling have been played out and jealous is a pretty human experience. It really depends on the act and the story I think.

I agree though here the Profits don’t need to. And New Day lasting the test of time has been awesome.

The thing with breakups through a turn is it’s not usually done to just split the team up, it’s for the ensuing story you can tell afterwards. So you just need to make sure that story is worth telling and is it worth killing the money to be made with the tandem.

It’s not ideal time either, but I just like anything that allows them to easily laid back up if one needs some help. We both know that the brand split don’t even matter haha
