Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to the fourth edition of Awesome Entrance Themes!

This one seems to split opinion - maybe because it's by Downstait? For me though, it's second only to Chris Jerichos in AEW and is one of the best entrance songs in wrestling today. It's instantly recognisable and has that "sing a long" factor that every good entrance theme should have.

I'm not to sure about the build up piece though... that feels more like Cody forcing himself to be "epic" rather than him actually having earned it (like if HHH had started using the King of Kings intro without having been multi-time world champ first...)...

Anyway, in celebration of him recently becoming the first AEW TNT Champion, AET#4 is Codys "Kingdom" - What are your thoughts on this? Give it a score out of 10 and we can keep building this table too:

I don't like the song is prefaced with the "Wrestling has more than one royal family" thing for whatever reason but that aside... yeah. I think this is a great theme. Not on the level of Judas which is an absolute banger, but it's on that teir right below it along with Darby Allin, Mox and some others as far as AEW's best themes go. And it may not be relevant to this but I think it certainly doesn't hurt that Cody's entrance in general is probably the most elaborate in all of AEW. Speaking as someone who has seen the entrance and heard the song live, it's definitely lit.

Song rating... man. If I'm grading it on a curve here, I think I have to go 7.5. That's what Angle's TNA theme got and I don't think this theme is better than that one.

I'll give it an 8 for when Cody is proper babyface, not fitting him great at the moment with his slowly changing behaviour tho

Just getting my rating in before I put the next one up.

So, for me the theme tune makes the entrance BUT sometimes the wrestler makes the theme... if that makes sense? Would "Get Ready to Fly" really be all that if it wasn't for the guy that came out to it? How about Brocks theme? And this is what I think, for me, is happening with this one. I'd heard it in New Japan and ROH and, although it was recognisable, it wasn't all that. As soon as we get AEW and they push him as a big deal, I think that knocks it up a couple of notches.

I really like it, all of it, even the epic stuff. BUT, the "epic" intro should only be used for big matches, much like HHH used the King of Kings to lead into The Game sometimes. Okadas theme is a good example of this too, they went for a couple of years extending the intro/build up in it for the Tokyo Dome and that made it, and him, feel more special. All the time is a little much.

So, all of that said - I think this sits squarely in the middle of Angles TNA Theme and Real American for me, so I give this an 8.
