The opening match came about after both men blamed the other for the loss in the tag team match last week. The “Lone Wolf” got the win after hitting the Deep Six on the “Don of WWE”.

Backstage Alba Fyre thanked Nikki Cross and Piper Niven for their help last week and said that while they were all focusing on their own goals, if they ever needed her help they had it.

Dempsey trapped his opponent in the Dempsey Destruction and Chen had no choice but to tap out.

Hayes got the win of his short WWE career here when he pinned the “Phenomenal” AJ Styles with Nothing But Net while the Good Brothers brawled with Reed and Quinn at ringside.

Backstage WWE US Champion Austin Theory was bragging about how he was the best talent in all of WWE and is the only champion that matters. RAW GM Adam Pearce walked up and told Theory that later on he would defend his championship against Seth Rollins. He wasn’t done there as there would also be a five way match with the winner earning a shot at the title at the Rumble, Theory stormed off enraged.

Rollins leveled Theory with a Bucklebomb and then climbed up to the top rope and attempted a Phoenix Splash only for Theory to roll out of the way and out of the ring.
From here the defending champion grabbed his title and entered the ring and smashed it into the face of Rollins causing a DQ.

The two behemoths teamed up to lay waste to the duo of Mace and Mansoor with Strowman hitting a Running Powerslam on Mansoor at ringside. While back in the ring Kato pinned Mace with a Chokebomb.

It looked like Sheamus was going to get the victory as he had Veer set up for the Brogue Kick only to become distracted by Butch attacking Jinder Mahal at ringside which allowed Veer to tag in Sanga. Who knocked Holland off the ring apron and then Veer hit a Side Slam/Big Boot Combo with Sanga pinning Sheamus.

Mahal celebrated in the ring with his stablemates while Sheamus rolled out to check on Holland at ringside. Sheamus then turned around and demanded an explanation on why Butch lost it and caused a distraction and cost him the match. Butch just laughed and then kicked Sheamus below the belt and then grabbed Holland and threw him head first into the fan barricade and finally got a microphone. He said that he was done and more importantly he is Pete Dunne.

The “Ring General” aka Gunther and the “Scottish Psychopath” beat the crap out of each other for around twenty minutes.
They beat several shades of shit out of each other and traded near falls.
The challenger laid the champion out with a Future Shock DDT and then ran at the ropes and on the rebound he launched himself out of the ring and took out both Vinci & Kaiser out at ringside. But when he entered the ring again he was met with a brutal chop and then a Powerbomb from Gunther for the pin.

Corey Graves & Kevin Patrick welcomed the WWE Universe to Monday Night RAW

Kevin Owens made his way out to the ring and cut a promo about how he failed to defeat Roman Reigns for the WWE Universal Championship at the 2021 Royal Rumble. He went on to say that come the 2023 Royal Rumble event not only would he beat the crap out of the so-called Tribal Chief but he would be the new WWE Champion.
The current WWE & WWE Universal Champion aka Roman Reigns appeared on the titantron and stated that Owens talks a good game but he should focus on even making it to the PLE.

Dempsey demanded this match after Boa interfered in his business last week, and despite a good showing from Boa, Dempsey trapped his opponent in the Dempsey Destruction and Boa tapped out.

Backstage Kevin Owens was walking when he was attacked by the Uso’s which led to the Creed Brothers intervening and chasing the WWE RAW Tag Team Champions away.

Shirai knocked LeRae down and then climbed up to the top rope to attempt her Over the Moonsault finisher on for LeRae to get back to her feet and then charge at the same corner to cut Shirai off.
From here LeRae climbed up and brawled with Shirai and then hit Mrs LeRae’s Wild Ride for the pin.

Backstage a three way brawl between WWE RAW Women’s Champion Bianca Belair, Asuka and Rhea Ripley was in full effect until it was broken up by refs and security.

Bliss attempted to hit her Twisted Bliss on her opponent but failed and crashed to the mat as a result. Then Satomura capitalized on the situation by dragging Bliss up and hitting the DVB for the pin.

The current WWE & WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns came out to the ring with his advisor Paul Heyman, with the latter announcing to the WWE Universe that the Tribal Chief was out here to reward them.
The reward? He was out here to let them see a spoiler for the coming premium live event as he is issuing an open challenge for his title and the man that answers the challenge will play the role of Kevin Owens.

Roman Reigns w Paul Heyman(c) V Ilja Dragunov
It became pretty clear when the bell rang that the defending champion aka Reigns was rethinking the whole open challenge thing. As Dragunov wasted little time in taking the fight to the Tribal Chief, forcing the latter to bail from the ring to recover.
However the challenger refused to let up and attempted a Suicide Dive only for Reigns to cut him off with a Superman Punch which left Dragunov draped over the middle rope.

Reigns would back up and then hit a Drive By which sent his opponent falling backwards into the ring, and then Reigns rolled back into the ring and waited until Dragunov returned to his feet and then hit a Spear. Yet Reigns didn’t go for the pin instead he dragged Dragunov and locked in the Hail to the Chief aka the Guillotine Choke and Dragunov passed out.

Friday Night Smackdown

Michael Cole and Wade Barrett welcomed the WWE Universe to Friday Night Smackdown

Smackdown GM William Regal came out and announced that the main event of the evening would be a 10 man over the top rope battle royal where the winner would challenge Roman Reigns for the WWE Universal Championship at the Rumble.
He went on to say that the winners of the triple threat tag team match would challenge for the WWE SD Tag Team Championships at the Rumble as well.

Backstage the WWE RAW & WWE SD Tag Team Champions the Usos were in the Bloodline’s locker room yelling about having to defend both their sets of tag team gold at the Rumble. The current WWE & WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns was also rather annoyed about the fact that he had to defend both his titles at the Rumble but he said that he had solutions for both situations.

He said firstly he had made a call to the family and a member would team with Sikoa to defend the SD Tag Team Championships at the event, he then said that Zayn would win the main event and then lay down for Reigns to pin him.

Indus Sher w Jinder Mahal V Chase U V Viking Raiders w Vahalla
The first elimination came when the Raiders got the better of Duke Hudson of Chase U and hit Thor’s Hammer with Ivar pinning him.

The second and final elimination came after Indus Sher and the Viking Raiders brawled relentlessly for another five minutes. From here Ivar and Erick threw Sanga out of the ring and then hit a Two Man Powerbomb commentary called Call for Ragnarok on Veer, with Erick pinning him.

Backstage an enraged Karrion Kross was yelling about being embarrassed by Bron Breaker and Rey Mysterio and said that both men would run out of time sooner rather than later, tick tock.

The Brawling Brutes aka Sheamus and Ridge Holland stormed to the ring and demanded that Butch or Pete Dunne or whatever he wanted to call himself to come down here and explain his actions.

Dunne came out onto the stage and said that he didn’t want to talk as it’s Friday and that means it’s fight night so he went and got himself a true tag team partner and a man that always has his back this man Tyler Bate.

Backstage WWE SD Women’s Champion Shayna Baszler was talking with Ronda Rousey. Rousey said that she was pissed off about not being able to be in her friend’s corner at the Rumble. But went on to say that she knew Baszler would retain and then Rousey could win back to back Rumbles and the two could own WrestleMania which Baszler said she liked the sound of.

Karrion Kross grabbed Mysterio by the mask and spun it around to blind him and then threw him out of the ring.
Rey Mysterio is eliminated

Waller hit a low blow on Grimes and then eliminated him, Zayn eliminated both Bron Breaker and Karrion Kross who were brawling near the ropes.
Cameron Grimes is eliminated
Bron Breaker & Karrion Kross is eliminated

McIntyre sent Waller out of the ring with a Claymore.
Grayson Waller is eliminated

The final two of Drew McIntyre and Sami Zayn went back and forth for five minutes and the conclusion saw the former set the latter up against the ropes and attempted to hit his Claymore finisher. Only Zayn moved out at the last second and McIntyre unintentionally sent himself out of the ring to the floor.

The current WWE & WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns made his way out to the ring with the rest of the Bloodline and Paul Heyman in tow.
The Uso’s congratulated Zayn on his win and then Reigns hugged him and said you know what to do at the Rumble or else. ​

RAW GM Adam Pearce and his Smackdown counterpart William Regal had a meeting and they agreed that they wanted to up the excitement levels in regards to their brands respective world championship matches at the Royal Rumble PLE.

So they made the decision to combine the two matches into a triple threat two fall match which would see Roman Reigns attempt to defend both the WWE or WWE Universal Championships against Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens.

The first fall would be for the WWE Championship and the second and final fall would be for the WWE Universal Championship​

The 2023 WWE Royal Rumble premium live event opened with a two fall triple threat match for both the WWE Universal and WWE Championships involving the defending champion Roman Reigns and his two challengers Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn.
The first fall was for the WWE Universal Championship while the second fall would be for the WWE Championship.
Owens and Zayn formed a temporary alliance and worked together to negate Reigns and then after Owens laid the ‘Tribal Chief” out with a Stunner, Zayn grabbed Owens and hit a Blue Thunder Bomb for the three count.
Winner of the 1st Fall & New WWE Universal Champion: Sami Zayn

Owens recovered while Reigns brawled with Zayn, once Owens had gotten back to his feet he didn’t seem pissed off instead he was actually impressed by Zayn. Reigns was beating on Zayn in the opposite corner and Owens broke it up and brawled with Reigns to the ringside side area.
From here Owens put Reigns on the announce table, back in the ring Zayn climbed up to the top rope and launched himself onto the “Tribal Chief” sending both men through the table. Then Owens grabbed Zayn and threw him back in the ring and followed this up by dragging him up and hitting a Stunner for the pin.
Winner of the 2nd Fall & New WWE Champion: Kevin Owens
Post-Match
Owens left the ring and got both titles and then returned to the ring and helped Zayn up and presented him with the WWE Universal Championship, then the two friends hugged in the middle of the ring and headed to the back.

Austin Theory(c) V Johnny Gargano
Next was a one on one match for the WWE United States Championship between former stablemates Austin Theory(c) and Johnny Gargano.
The challenger looked to have the match won after sending his opponent face first into one of the middle turnbuckles with the Lawn Dart which allowed him the time to exit the ring and set up for his Slingshot DDT finisher. However as he attempted his finisher, Theory “accidently” bumped into the ref which sent him into the ropes causing Gargano to be caught on the top rope as a result. From here Theory dragged his opponent off the top rope and onto his shoulders and then hit A-Town Down for the pin.
Winner & Still WWE US Champion: Austin Theory
Post-Match
Theory beat Gargano relentlessly until Tommaso Ciampa made his return from injury and attacked Theory and cleared him from the ring. Ciampa helped Gargano up and offered his hand but the latter left the ring.

Next a slugfest of a brawl between the defending champions Solo Sikoa and new Bloodline member Jacob Fatu representing the Bloodline as the Sons of Samoa and the challengers the Viking Raiders took place.
The challengers and champions brawled for around fifteen minutes inside the ring and out of it around the ringside area.Eventually Sikoa and Erick fought back into the ring where the former hit a Samoan Spike on the latter and then tagged in Fatu who dragged Erick to one of the corners and then climbed up to the top rope and hit a Moonsault for the win.

The third match of the night saw the trio of Bianca Belair(c), Asuka and Rhea Ripley go to war for the “B.E.S.T of WWE’s” aka Belair’s WWE RAW Women’s Championship.
Ripley and Asuka formed a necessary alliance to beat down the defending champion and this worked in the short term but eventually they came to blows.
The conclusion of the match saw Belair hoist Ripley up onto her shoulders and in position for the K.O.D only for Asuka to spit black mist into the face of Belair.
From here Ripley got off Belair’s shoulders and rolled out of the ring as Belair fell to one knee and attempted to wipe the mist from her eyes only for Asuka to hit a stiff kick to the side of the head for the pin.

After that the WWE RAW Tag Team Championships were on the line as the Uso’s (Jimmy & Jey)(c) attempted to defend their titles against the Creed Brothers (Julius & Brutis) who had Ivy Nile in their corner.
This first ever match was amazing and it was split about 60/40 in the favor of the brothers Uso in terms of control of the match. Brutus Creed was brawling with Jey Uso in the ring while at ringside Jimmy Uso caused a distraction by acting like he was going to hit a Superkick on Nile which allowed Jey to roll Brutus up from behind for the pin.

WWE SD Women’s Championship - Ronda Rousey banned from Ringside

The penultimate match of the event saw the “Queen of Spades” Shayna Baszler(c) go one on one with the former champion “Queen of Flair” Charlotte Flair. As a result of Flair’s victory on the go home episode of Friday Night Smackdown, Baszler’s friend Ronda Rousey was banned from ringside.
Baszler fought out of an attempted Figure Eight from Flair and got back to her feet and as Flair tried to return to her feet she hit a stiff Running Knee Strike for the pin.
