to me ranking are just another booking* device and should not be taken as more important than story feuds
Well they shouldn't ever be taken as important as people pretend anyway
But I'd say they should always be factored in to story feuds too. You gotta at least have one makeshift reason relating to why they're being bypassed in this case said by the announcers. Which the Bucks one will probably be the EVP power abuse thing speculated so fine by me if so

25 bucks to see Stings last match is a damn good deal
Can even have them pad their stats with local talent they book themselves to face to further the power abuse story
then only booking themselves vs jobbers like the dark days would be hysterical

That would, in my mind, also put a lid on the World Title match. I'm already expecting that Swerve and especially Hangman costing each other the Title anyway, but yea... if they don't Main, then there's no chance in hell they'd take Joe's title away.
