I guess like many issues in wrestling...it all comes down to a person's own
perspective...and for me a "Protected Squash" just doesn't seem like it can
exist.

As far as Strowman goes...I still think the time was right at SummerSlam 2017...
but perhaps there is more going on that we fans don't know about. If the recent
rumors are true...perhaps Strowman just isn't professional enough to have that
top spot.

I still think Seth Rollins would be the best option...but perhaps he destined to
remain in the mid-card for the rest of his WWE career.

I also think Drew McIntyre is a viable option...but...again...I'm not calling the
shots.

Its a shame they moved Samoa Joe to SDL & had him fail against A.J so many
times...he could have believed Joe in the top spot...but then...he does seem to
get injured a lot.

Who knows?

It has made for a great discussion though...

Personally while it would be worth a shot (because there has been no reason not to try), I don't think Strowman as champ would have went all that well.
Strowman's a great talent but he was written perfectly. He was given badass shit to do and we're like "Yeah! He's a badass!"
We loved him for creating violence and giving us a lot of fun on Raw, but as champion trying to handle the sports-like vibe of WWE and the long main event matches, I worry about the dude's potential anyway.
Still would have been fun to watch. Hell I was happy when they gave Ryback the ball when everyone yelled he wasn't ready

Well...if they can put a top title on Jinder Mahal & give him a 170 day reign...
then they could technically put a top title on anyone I guess.

There was a time when Strowman was just a big, dangerous force of nature...
but then they teamed him with Alexa Bliss, had him playing stand up bass &
winning the tag titles with a young kid...and after that...he lost his mystic for
me...and just became a big guy who MAY never live up to his true potential...
much like the Big Show.

Strowman might spend the rest of his career as a "circus attraction" but only
time will tell.

Edit:
This isn't the first time Brock has "Destroyed" Braun...
(They're talking about the Royal Rumble 2016)

Couple this with the shoot head punches at the Royal Rumble 2018 & maybe
Brock isn't putting Braun over...ever?

without a doubt there is such thing as a protected squash match. any match that starts offf like the crown jewel match did is a protective squash. any match that has someone getting beat up backstage just to have them limp to the ring is also a protective squash match
