Eddie Guerrero

Guerrero won the US title on December 29th 1996 at Starrcade by defeating DDP in a tournament final. He lost the title to Malenko on March 16th 1997 at Uncensored. Guerrero won his 2nd US title by defeating Chris Benoit in a Tournament final on July 27th 2003 at Vengeance to revive the title. He lost the title to The Big Show on October 29th 2003 at No Mercy.

Dean Malenko

Malenko won the US title on March 16th 1997 from Eddie Guerrero at Uncensored. He lost the title to Jeff Jarrett on the June 9th 1997 Nitro.

I like both wrestlers but I went with Eddie here. The second title reign put him over the top for me.

Wow...this has probably been the hardest one to vote for such far. But in the End, Eddie wins. Like Troy said, his US title reign really put him on the mat as a top competitor.

Went Malenko he was beyond hot when he won the US title. He was arguably the biggest attraction in WCW (match quality wise) that entire year.

Tough one here but I've always been a fan of Eddie Guerrero and loved his US title run. He was a talented wrestler like Malenko but Eddie gets this one.

Am with Scott here Malenko was one of my favourites back then also, and his style and character made him a proper champion, his title defence with Benoit from Spring Stempede 97 was a cracker which everone should see.

Guerrero by 1. Understand it but Loved Malenko during that time.

Thing is I would say Eddie had the better career overall as Dean seem to lose his way a bit after about 1999, and WWF wasted him, but certainly as a US Champion and based on what a hot talent he was at that point it has to be Malenko for me.
