A lot of people have a lot to say about this.. good and bad.. personally I think it's brilliant...

Why does the NFL force it's players to speak to the media? What's the purpose of speaking to the players if they don't want to speak?

I never really liked locker room interviews either and think the media has no place at all in the locker room.. at any time..

It's all getting ridiculous and all thanks to Goodell and some of the over the top policies he is enforcing.

Well.. that's my opinion.. what's yours?

Who do you think promotes Peyton Manning to the masses?
Who writes articles and makes Peyton Manning seem like a hero and hides his flaws.
Whenever you read any article, its written by a person in the media.
The columnist/journalist creates an image of a player that the masses can get behind.
The NFL must have a great working relationship with the media because the media has the power to uplift or destroy a players career.

When players ignore writers, the writers will have an ax to grind and can butcher the players reputation. It's bad publicity the NFL doesn't want.
The better Peyton Manning's repuation, the more money they can make off of his image.

Current Playoff Standings:

AFC: New England 9-2
Denver 8-3
Cincy 7-3-1
Indy 7-4
Kansas City 7-4
San Diego 7-4

Yes, there's a 5-way tie for the wildcard right now with the 3 other AFC North teams also at 7-4. Miami and Buffalo at 6-5, even Houston at 5-6 may make it in.
Don't feel like going into tiebreaker scenarios, watching this clusterfuck play itself out will be fun

NFC:
Arizona 9-2
Green Bay 8-3 (beat Eagles H2H)
Philadelphia 8-3
Atlanta 4-7
Dallas 8-3
Seattle 7-4

Also at 7-4 are Detroit and San Fran. SF loses the division record tiebreaker to Seattle and the conference games to Detroit. Detroit loses the best win percentage in conference games tiebreaker to Seattle. Chicago at 5-6 is a longshot, sorry Pottsy and GN

Tampa Bay is 2 games back of the playoffs and 1 game back of the #1 pick

The NFL this season seems like 5-6 truly awful teams and 25 mediocre ones.

And the Patriots and Packers, who also have holes but just seem so far ahead of everyone else (except Denver of course) right now.

But you look at the top teams this year... Arizona, who's had a struggling pass rush, running back averaging the lowest YPC among qualified RB's, no top-10 QB... Yeah their secondary is good, maybe their receivers, but that doesn't really justify 9-1

And don't even get me started on Cincy lol

I still can't fathom the mathematical possibility that a team can actually make the playoffs this year in the NFC with a losing record of 5-11.

Fun Fact of the day: QB Nick Foles has more tackles than OLB Marcus Smith
