2004 Was The Year: A KF4E Production!
The WWE went into the year 2004 with high standards. The creative staff were doing great, the wrestlers and managers were doing great, Vince McMahon and his family were also doing great, and the attitude in and around the company was fantastic. Everyone had high hopes for 2004 and they thought it would be one of the greatest years in WWE history. However strange things started to happen. They began finding traces of storylines being leaked onto the internet, mainly wrestling forums. As weeks went by more and more storylines were being leaked out into the public eye. Even the Royal Rumble winner was let out. The name going around was The Big Show. This was infact true and it was supposed to be The Big Show’s break through year, making the leap from the mid card to the main event scene. However with The Royal Rumble looming, WWE creative decided to change things around. They spoke to Big Show and told him about the events that had happened, and he was fine with the new creative ideas. However soon, these new ideas got leaked out and Mr. McMahon and company were fuming. It was obviously someone close within the creative team because Stephanie only explained the new storyline ideas to Paul Wight and three Smackdown writers.
A few days later, Michael Hayes received a letter from Stephanie McMahon letting him know that he was fired for breech of contract (leaking storylines). Hayes left without a word, knowing full well that there was no point lying now that they had caught him in the act. Hayes later said in an interview that he is glad he was found out, and he is glad that he is no longer in the company. The WWE were now a writer short with the biggest Wrestlemania ever shortly upon them. However they made some phone calls, and in the end hired a man that was reknowned for either brilliant stuff or controversial stuff. This man was Vince Russo. WWE had hired him after they noticed him freelancing, they offered him a wad load of money and brought him into the creative department at WWE headquarters. Russo got straight to work writing and booking the cards. Sooner than later, The Royal Rumble was upon us.

The Royal Rumble 2004 Results!
The show began with a Tag Team Championship contest. It was between Raw’s World Tag team Champions Ric Flair and Batista (Evolution), and The Dudley Boyz. Both teams did brilliantly, and the fans really did belive that The Dudley Boyz were winning with it being a tables match. However Flair took care of Bubba on the outside while Batista planted D-Von through the table, meaning that Evolution retained the Tag team Championships, and The Royal Rumble was underway in full swing.

The second match of the evening saw WWE Cruiserweight Champion Rey Mysterio defend the title against Jamie Noble. Noble came to the ring with his blind girlfriend Nidia. Everything was going swiftly for Noble until Nidia, who couldn’t see a thing accidently tripped Noble up thinking it was Mysterio. Little Rey, Rey then hit the six-one-nine and the West Coast Pop to secure the victory, and retain the WWE Cruiserweight Championship.

Next was a family affair. Eddie Guerrero and his nephew Chavo Guerrero went at it in a full out brawl. You could almost call it a war. In the end Eddie Guerrero came out on top after a high flying Frogsplash. After the bell rang, Eddie Guerrero continued the attack and bloodied both Chavo and Chavo’s father. Chavo’s father had to be taken away in an abulance due to his injuries.

Next up was Smackdown’s WWE Championship match. Champion Brock Lesnar had to overcome Hardcore Holly. Holly was out for revenge after Lesnar broke Holly’s neck a few months prior to this contest. Holly even said in an interview that he wasn’t in the match to win the Championship, he just wanted to break Lesnar’s neck. Lesnar cooly finished the match with an F-5 though, to retain the WWE Championship. He even walked out with his neck intact.

The final match before The Rumble was between two of Raw’s biggest stars. Triple H defended the World Heavyweight Championship against former friend, now enemy Shawn Michaels. This was not a normal match however, it was a last man standing match. In the end niether man could answer the ten count, that’s why Triple H retained the title, the match however ended in a draw.

The final match on the card was the actual Royal Rumble match. Thirty men, fifteen from Raw and fifteen from Smackdown. The first entrant was Smackdown’s Chris Benoit. Little did anyone know that he would last a nearly impossible 69 minutes and 37 seconds and win the whole event. He eliminated guys like Bradshaw, Mark Henry, Rhyno, Matt Morgan, A-Train and the massive Big Show. Benoit and Big Show were the final two men in the match. However it all came to a holt when Big Show lifted Chris Benoit up over his head, walked to the ropes and tried to throw him over, Chris Benoit wasn’t ready to go, so he held onto the top rope and used all his might to eliminate the five hundred pound giant.

WWE Smackdown
The Royal Rumble – No Way Out
smallest_kf43_smackdown.png

At The Royal Rumble, Eddie Guerrero and his Nephew Chavo Guerrero faught to a bloody battle. On the next few Smackdown’s. Eddie started to lose it, Kurt Angle who was Eddie’s friend at the time tried to help him sort things out. However as soon as general manager Paul Heyman made a battle royal with the winner facing Brock Lesnar at No Way Out, Kurt Angle’s friendship started going down hill. Obviously the WWE Championship meant more to Angle than his friendship with Eddie did. Then ironically, Eddie and Angle were the last two men in the battle royal. In a crowd pleasing moment, Eddie Guerrero eliminated Kurt Angle and won a shot at the WWE Championship, it finally looked like Eddie’s luck was heading up. Speaking of Kurt Angle though, he was thrown into a triple threat match at No Way Out with The Big Show and John Cena, with the winner facing the WWE Champion at Wrestlemania 20.

Leading up to No Way Out, Rikishi and Scotty 2 Hotty kept getting attacked each week by this huge woman. She said her name was Shaniqua, and her boys will take the belts at No Way Out. She then revealed her boys to be The Basham Brothers, who took out the tag champs on the final episode of Smackdown before No Way out.

After inadvertaintly tripping Jamie Noble up at The Royal Rumble, Nidia came out on Smackdown and revealed that she wasn’t really blind, and it was all a scam. This didn’t go down well with Jamie Noble. The pair broke off their relationship and decided to have a match at No Way Out. However, Nidia requested that Noble had to wrestle blindfolded, to see what she had to go through ( even though she wasn’t blind, this was the actual storyline in real life)

Shelton Benjamin and Charlie Haas came out of The Royal Rumble looking like a great tag team. However, they had one thing to prove, and that was whether or not they could beat The APA. They had many goes but the match always ended up in a no contest. So Smackdown general manager Paul Heyman decided to let them go at it at No Way Out.

Hardcore Holly had the chance to win the WWE Championship at The Royal Rumble, however he fell short. Holly came out on Smackdown moaning that he really should have broke Lesnar’s neck. Then Rhyno came out and told him to quit bitching because he will get no where. Things got ugly quick and it turned into a match at No Way Out.

After being beat at The Royal Rumble by his uncle Eddie, Chavo Guerrero found himself in Rey Mysterio’s warpath. Mysterio was a close friend of Eddie and didn’t like the way Chavo was treating him. So they decided to fight it out at No Way Out, with the Cruiserweight Championship on the line too.

WWE No Way Out 2004 Results!
In a dark match to kick the action off, Tajiri, Akio and Sakoda defeated Billy Kidman, Paul London and Ultimo Dragon. The match came to an end when Tajiri pinned Kidman after a massive Buzzsaw kick while Kidman was standing on the top rope. No Way Out came onto the air live with Smackdown diva’s Torrie Wilson and Sable walking down to the ring. They let us know that the Smackdown superstars are willing to do anything tonight and so were they. After they left we were left to the opening videos.

In the opening match at No Way Out, WWE Tag Team Champions Rikishi and Scotty 2 Hotty defeated The Basham Brothers and Shaniqua in a handicap multi gender tag match. The match came to an end when Rikishi connected with a sit down splash on Shaniqua. Rikishi and Scotty 2 Hotty then celebrated with the titles in a unique Too Cool style dance.

In the second match of the night, Jamie Noble defeated Nidia in a boyfriend vs. girlfriend match. Noble had to wear a blindfold in this match per stipulation. Noble won the match via cheating and making Nidia tap out. He cheated by taking off his blindfold and checking where Nidia was.

Next up in a tag team match of respect, The APA defeated The Worlds Greatest Tag Team (Charlie Haas and Shelton Benjamin) the match came to an end when Bradshaw connected with a Clothesline from hell to Haas. After the match Shelton Benjamin took Charlie Haas to the back and gave him a serious pep talk.

In what was known to be a filler match. Hardcore Holly defeated Rhyno after an impressive Alabama Slam. After the match Rhyno accepted victory like a man, but Hardcore Holly decided to beat him up for good measure.

Next up in a very long match. WWE Cruiserweight Champion Rey Mysterio went into battle with Chavo Guerrero. Both men gave it everything, but the match came to an end when Mysterio finshed off Chavo with a six-one nine and the pinfall.

In the triple threat match Kurt Angle found himself the victor. Angle managed to defeat both Big Show and John Cena to earn a shot at the WWE Championship at Wrestlemania 20. The match finished when Angle locked Cena in the Ankle Lock, making the doctor of thugonamics tap out in immense pain. After the match United States Champion Big Show and John Cena stared down each other without coming to blows.

Then in the final match of the evening. WWE Champion Brock lesnar went into battle with Eddie Guerrero. Both men gave blood sweat and tears. Raw’s Goldberg even came down to the ring and hit Lesnar with a Spear and a Jackhammer. However Eddie was the one who finished the match with a Frogsplash winning him the match and the WWE Championship. After the match Eddie Guerrero celebrated with his family at ringside.

WWE Monday Night Raw
Royal Rumble – Wrestlemania 20
smallest_kf43_raw1.png

With the Royal Rumble out of the way, the WWE went to work on finalizing the Wrestlemania card. However, they also had to come up with some sort of No Way Out card, It wasn’t easy but here is what happened. The world Heavyweight Championship was the main rivalry on Raw. Champion Triple H came out week after week to brag about retaining the title, however Shawn Michaels soon brought him back to earth reminding The Game that he didn’t win the match at The Royal Rumble. Then in a swerve, Smackdown’s Royal Rumble winner Chris Benoit came down to the ring. Benoit with a smile etched on his face reminded everyone that the only one that won at The Royal Rumble was him. Then over the next few weeks all three men got into some sort of rivalry, it had become clear that Chris Benoit had switched to Raw. With this news becoming apparent, acting Raw general manager at the time Stone Cold Steve Austin decided to make the Wrestlemania main event set in stone. It would be World Heavyweight Champion Triple H, defending against Shawn Michaels and Chris Benoit in the first ever Wrestlemania triple threat match for the World Heavyweight Championship.

Also on Raw, ever since Survivor Series when Kane buried his brother The Undertaker alive, he has been receiving some scary messages week after week. At The Royal Rumble The Undertakers music sounded and this caused Kane to be eliminated from the ring. During the weeks leading to No Way Out, Kane has been beating opponent after opponent, and he even found out that The Undertaker would be returning to Smackdown at Wrestlemania, and he wants a match with Kane at the biggest event of the year, Wrestlemania 20.

In Raw’s Womans Championship division, Champion Victoria went into 2004 as the strong dominant champion that she always was. She was not on the Royal Rumble card, instead, she spent every week on Raw fending off challengers with ease. However she was met by Molly Holly, the woman that was tough and elegant at the same time. Molly Holly wanted nothing more than to become Woman’s Champion. She even went as far as putting a huge stipulation on the line for Wrestlemania. The stipulation was, that if Molly Holly lost the match, not only would she not have the Woman’s Championship, but her hair would also be shaved off too.

Raw’s Goldberg was on a mission. Ever since he and Smackdown’s WWE Champion Brock Lesnar locked horns at Survivor Series 2003, ever since that fateful night both men went to each others shows and caused a riot. However, with both men ending each others chances at The Royal Rumnle, this huge story was not over. During the weeks leading up to No Way Out, acting general manager of Raw Stone Cold Steve Austin gave Goldberg a front row ticket. So Goldberg would be going to No Way Out to watch Lesnar and his huge WWE Championship defence. At No Way Out, Goldbeg interfered, costing Lesnar his WWE Championship, kicking this into a whole new gear. Lesnar begged Mr. McMahon for a match against Goldberg at Wrestlemania. He was finally given this wish, and the huge match for Wrestlemania was on. Not only that, but Stone Cold Steve Austin gave up his acting general manager spot so he could be the referee in this match.

Two girls on raw were on the top of their game. Stacy Keibler and Miss Jacke were out each week winning bikini contests and everything. However over the next few weeks, two girls from Smackdown, Torrie Wilson and Sable were doing the exact same, but they were also posing for playboy. This got all four girls into a jealous cat fight. The only way to settle it was to have a playboy evening gown match at Wrestlemania 20.

Ever since 2003, Evolution’s Intercontinental Champion Randy Orton was after one thing. He wanted to embarras Mick Foley infront of millions of WWE fans. However Foley kept declining the offer. Then at The Royal Rumble as mentioned above, Mick Foley came in and eliminated Randy orton. He eliminated himself in the process but he didn’t care. As far as he was concerned the match was on. However, over the next few weeks leading up to Wrestlemania, Evolution kept ganging up on Mick Folkey leaving him a complete bloody mess at the end of each show. Things got so bad that Mick Foley decided to call his friend from Hollywood. The Rock. The Rock came in fighting style and the Rock ‘n’ Sock connection decided they were back to stay. So on the final week before Wrestlemania the match was signed, The Rock ‘n’ Sock Connection (Mick Foley and The Rock) vs. Evolution (Ric Flair, Batista and Rany Orton)

Christian and Chris Jericho were best friends. Jericho was head over heals in love with Trish Stratus. In fact he was that in love that he would tell Christian about all his dreams. However, Christian seemed to get a bit jealous, and told Jericho to leave Trish alone because she is not interested. The real reason was soon let out, and Christian was infact falling for Trish. Christian kept trying to force himself on her when Jericho wasn’t around. Soon it turned into the biggest love triangle ever. The weeks leading to Wrestlemania, their friendship began detieriating. Soon, there was no friendship at all, and the match was set for Wrestlemania.

Finally, the World Tag Team Champions Ric Flair and Batista actually did the unthinkable and lost the belts to a tag team that was put together moments before. Booker T and Rob Van Dam wanted gold and the only way to do so was to team up and face Evolution. No one expected them to win but they did, and in the weeks leading to Wrestlemania, they found out that they would have to defend the belts in a fatal fourway tag team match.

So Wrestlemania 20 was looking to be one hell of an event.

WWE Smackdown
No Way Out – Wrestlemania 20
smallest_kf43_smackdown.png

With No Way Out history, WWE Champion Eddie Guerrero and Kurt Angle got right into a brutal battle over the WWE Championship. Guerrero had won the title at No Way Out, whereas Kurt Angle won the number one contenders match also at No Way Out. Angle said at Wrestlemania 20 he would take the title off Eddie Guerrero and the crowd would thank him. Angle also unleashed Eddie’s secrest past of drugs and crime. However his plan backfired because the crowd still prefered Eddie. Then on the final week before Wrestlemania 20 Kurt Angle had Eddie Guerrero arrested. Eddie was at ringside in handcuffs, when al of a sudden Kurt Angle came out and beat him to a bloody pulp. With Wrestlemania round the corner who will come out on top?

Brock Lesnar lost the WWE Championship at No Way Out, but didn’t care. The only thing on his mind was Raw’s Goldberg. Both men wanted to end each others live’s let alone their careers. On the weeks leading to Wrestlemania both men showed up on each other’s shows causing havoc and not stopping at any lengths untill they got what they want. Finally on an episode of Smackdown, Brock Lesnar got down to his knees and begged Mr. McMahon to give him Goldberg at Wrestlemania 20. McMahon answered his prayers and the match was officially made.

Both United States Champion Big Show, and John Cena came out the losers in No Way Out’s triple thread number one contenders match. However they both had business to settle, and on Smackdown they decided to make a match for Wrestlemania 20, with the US Championship on the line. During the weeks before Mania, John Cena was determined to show everyone that he could do anything Big Show could do. This worked, and Big Show may of gotten himself into more than he thought at Wrestlemania 20.

After losing out to Rey Mysterio at No Way Out, he wanted a rematch at Wrestlemania. However general manager Paul Heyman decided that instead, there would be a Cruiserweight Open at Wrestlemania 20 for the Championship. SO all men involved in this mammoth match took part in warm up matches. Rey Mysterio got the better of Chavo each and every week, causing Chavo to flip one week and take out all his agression on Funaki.

After hearing the news that Raw will be holding a fatal fourway match for the Tag Team Championships at Wrestlemania, Paul heyman decided to set up the exact same thing. He told everyone who the teams would be, and week by week they were introduced. Each team got to face the camps leading up to Wrestlemania. In the first week Rikishi and Scotty defeated The Basham Brothers in a No Way Out rematch. Then they beat The Worlds Greatest Tag Team. Then in their final warm up match they faced The APA. This match finished as a draw with both teams looking strong for Wrestlemania.

WWE Wrestlemania 20 Results
In the opening match of the night, WWE United States Champion, The Big Show went into attle with a sharp John Cena. Cena overcame everything the giant threw at him. The Big Show managed to retain the Championship when John Cena went for the F-U. However Cena despite using all his might couldn’t for the life of him lift Show. Cena walked away from this and got hit with a massive chokeslam. This left Cena down and out and allowed Big Show to pin him with his foot to retain the United States Championship.

Next up was a Raw production. It was the fatal fourway match for the World Tag Team Championships. All four teams showed some great things but in the end Rob Van Dam and Booker T retained the belts after Booker T connected with the Book end on Dupree, and Van Dam connected with the Five Star Frogsplash getting the pinfall.

Next up, former friends collided as Christian and Chris Jericho locked horns over one woman. That woman being Trish Stratus, the same woman that in the end turned on Chris Jericho and caused him the match. After the match Christian planted a kiss on Trish right infrton of an unsettled Jericho.

Next up. The Rock ‘n’ Sock Connection met Evolution in a battle of the factions. Both teams gave it their best shot, but the unthinkable happened at the end. Mick Foley got ready for the Mandible Claw when out of no where Randy Orton connected with an RKO. This got Orton and Evolution the three count. Evolution celebrated whilst the crowd applauded Rock and Foley in the ring.

Then we had the Raw vs. Smackdown Playboy evening gown match. Before this match even got started Sable and Torrie from Smackdown decided to start the match in just their bra and panties. So Raw’s Stacey keibler and Miss Jackie did the same. Unfortunately for them Smackdown won this contest.

Then we had the Cruiserweight Open. All of Smackdowns cruiserweights did battle gunning for the belt. However the final two men that were left were Champion Rey Mysterio and challenger Chavo Guerrero. The match finished when Mysterio planted Chavo with a six-one-nine and a pinfall, retianing the belt again.

Then in the battle of the bulls. Brock Lesnar and Goldberg locked up for a near twenty minutes with Stone Cold Steve Austin as the special referee. The match ended with Smackdown’s Brock Lesnar coming up better after hitting two consecutive F-5’s. After the match Austin connected with two Stone Cold Stunners. One to Goldberg and one to Lesnar.

Next was Smackdown’s fatal fourway for the WWE Tag Team Championships. IN the end The APA became the new Champions after pinning Rikishi and Scotty 2 Hotty. Bradshaw pinned Scotty 2 Hotty. After the match Rikishi and Scotty 2 Hotty had a brief argument in the ring. It was nothing major but Rikishi was just pissed off that they lost the belts.

Next was Raw’s Woman’s Championship match. Molly Holly had to win otherwise she would go back to Raw with no hair. She almost did win, but then Victoria countered and rolled her up, keeping her title in the process, and shaving Molly Holly bald after the match.

In Smackdown’s WWE Championship match. Eddie Guerrero did everything to retain against Kurt Angle, but in the end it looked like Angle was going to win. However Eddie unlaced his boots and tricked Angle with a rollup. Eddie retained the Championship leaving Kurt Angle frothing at the mouth in the ring.

The Undertaker finally made his WWE comeback in a match against his brother kane. This was not a very long match, but it was brutal. In the end Undertaker came out on top and pinned Kane after a devestating Tombstone Piledriver.

Then in the main event, Raw’s World Heavyweight Champion Triple H went into this triple threat match with a huge target on his back. He put up a good fight, as did Shawn Michaels, however in the end it was Chris Benoit who came out on top after making Triple H tap out to the Crippler Crossface. Benoit celebrated with Smackdown’s WWE Champion Eddie Guerrero as Wrestlemania 20 went off the air.

So, so far, things were going well for new head booker Vince Russo. He had sucsessfully booked The Royal Rumble, No Way Out and Wrestlemania 20 since being back with the WWE. Vince McMahon were very pleased with his progress so far and decided to give him a pay rise. Vince was also so happy with the way Wrestlemania 20 went that he and the rest of the creative secided to use the joint brand PPV's all the time now starting from Backlash. Russo agreed thinking it was for the best and he got to work booking up for a Backlash card. The next night a message went on WWE.com announcing that from Backlash the PPV's will be joint brand. So what will Vince Russo, head booker of WWE have planned for us. Or rather what will I have planned for you...keep an eye out as this journey begins BABYY!!!

Well, it's always nice to see a new BTB, and especially those who are organized and nicely set up, so I will be reviewing. Another thing, I like the fact that you didnt change the result of the title match of Wrestlemania, many people attempt to start a BTB in this era, but to me they kill the aura of that year by not giving the belt to Benoit or not having Eddie retain.

WWE Monday Night Raw
Monday 15th March 2004
The Fallout Of Wrestlemania 20
Where It All Began Again!
smallest_kf43_raw1.png

Tonight Monday Night Raw begins with a very well polished video package. It highlights the events from last nights PPV extravaganza Wrestlemania 20. It goes through all the Raw matches and inter brand matches. First it shows Rob Van Dam and Booker T retain the World Tag Team Championships against three other teams. Garrison Cade and Mark Jindrak, La Resistance and The Dudley Boyz. It then shows Christian beating Chris Jericho and then Trish Stratus turning on Jericho and kissing The Creepy Little Bastard in the middle of the ring. Then it shows Evolution beat The Rock ‘n’ Sock Connection when Intercontinental Champion Randy Orton pinned Mick Foley after the RKO. Next up was Sable and Torrie Wilson defeating Raw’s Miss Jackie and Stacy Keibler in the Playboy, evening gown match, Then we see Smackdown’s Brock Lesnar defeat Raw’s Goldberg, and Austin stunnering everyone afterwards. Then it shows Victoria retaining the Woman’s Championship against Molly Holly, and after the match shaving her head bald. Then it shows Smackdown’s returning Undertaker defeat Raw’s Kane, and finally Chris Benoit making Triple H tap out in the triple threat match to win the World Heavyweight Championship. The video package closes with a still of Chris Benoit holding up the World Championship.

We then switch to the Monday Night Raw opening video package. It is a new and improved video now that it’s technically a new year in sports entertainment. After this we see a fantastic pyro display from the top of the ramp. The camera pans around the arena showing the sold out crowd in New York City. Jim Ross and Jerry The King Lawler welcome us to the show and stated that last night was such a huge event despite Smackdown winning most of the interbrand matches. They then tell us that tonight is the new beginning and we have a new World Heavyweight Champion, Chris Benoit. They also let us know that The Rock and Mick Foley will be leaving Raw tonight.

Then the crowd all stood up and gave the new Worlds Champion Chris Benoit a brilliant standing ovation. Benoit’s music played and he showed himself from behind the curtain. He had a massive grin on his face as he stood on the top of the ramp. Benoit looked around the whole arena and showed his appreciation to the crowd. He held up the title and watched as the confetti fell down from the ceiling, covering the whole place in gold and white sparkles. Jr and King hype the fact that Chris Benoit finally achieved his life long dream last night at Wrestlemania, after eighteen years of trying. Benoit slowly makes his way down to the ring wearing his wrestling tights, and a Benoit T-shirt over the top. He climbed up the ring steps and stood still in the ring still with the grin etched across his face. Chris Benoit was so overfilled with emotion that a small tear rolled down his right cheek. He rubbed it away and began to talk. He thanked the fans for always being there for him ever since day one. He says he couldn’t have done it without the fans. The crowd were so loud that Benoit had to take a few seconds to wait for them to be a little bit quieter, but to also catch a breath. Benoit then said he started to realize that something was going well for him when he outlasted twenty-nine other men in The Royal Rumble match, and even eliminated The Big Show in the process. Benoit then said then when he felt Triple H’s hands slap the ring canvas last night at Wrestlemania twenty, he knew that he had reached the top of the mountain. The crowd cheer again. Chris says tonight even though he is the World Heavyweight Champion, is about the fans, tonight he wants’ to show them all how much he appreciates their awesome following.
Suddenly the music of Shawn Michaels hits the arena. The crowd gave him a good ovation, but no where near as big as Benoit’s. Shawn Michaels didn’t stop on the ramp to let his fireworks blast off, instead he just walked straight to the ring with his eyes fixed on Chris Benoit, or rather, the World Heavyweight Championship belt sitting firmly around The Wolverines waist. Michaels rolled into the ring and walked right over to Benoit. They locked eyes for a few minutes. The music stopped and the fans were heard again. Chris Benoit and Shawn Michaels stared at one other some more, before Shawn Michaels let out a slight smirk and wrapped his arms around Benoit’s midrift. The crowd exploded into applaud as the two embraced in the middle of the ring, much like Benoit and Smackdown’s Eddie Guerrero did last night at Wrestlemania. Shawn Michaels let go and grabbed a microphone from one of the stage hands. The first things that left his mouth were ‘congratulations’ Michaels said he really couldn’t see Chris Benoit coming to Raw and winning the World Heavyweight Championship, but he proved him wrong, and most importantly he left Triple H title-less. Michaels’s smirk then slowly faded into a glum expression. Michaels said even though Benoit is his friend, he just came out to let him know that, he is going to want a piece of him now that he has that gold around his waist. Benoit laughs and says he wouldn’t expect anything less from The Heart Break Kid.
Then suddenly the lights dim, and Evolution’s music is heard blasting across the speakers. The crowd erupt into a frenzy of boo’s as Ric Flair, Batista, Intercontinental Champion Randy Orton and most importantly The Game Triple H made their way down the ramp looking tense. All four men climbed into the ring and surrounded Chris Benoit and Shawn Michaels. Triple H was handed a microphone. He says it’s all sweet that Chris Benoit and Shawn Michaels want to kiss and cuddle after one of the biggest fluke victories of the year, but he wants to make something crystal clear. He lost the damn title, so it’s his to get back. The Cerebral Assasin then said he has a rematch clause in his contract and he will be using it when the time is right. Triple H says last night at Wrestlemania, Evolution were on top of their game, until Chris Benoit got in their way. Triple H says he’s made his intentions clear, but tonight Benoit is lucky, because Evolution have some other business to take care off. Their music plays again, and after intensively staring out Benoit and Shawn Michaels, Evolution leave the ring and head straight for the back. Jim Ross and King hype up that the main event scene is going to be explosive from now on.

We return to Monday Night Raw with the music of The Dudley Boyz. The crowd are fifty-fifty for this team. Some booing while the other half are cheering. Bubba Ray and his brother D-Von Dudley make their way down the ramp after their fireworks go off. They are wearing the yellow and black like bumble bee attire. They get into the ring and pose for a few seconds. Then the music of Garrison Cade and Mark Jindrak plays. Again the crowd really don’t care for this team. They make their way down to the ring wearing matching red trunks and boots. They get into the ring and pose, but the referee has to step inbetween both teams. The bell rings and this opening match here tonight is finally underway.

Match Number One
The Dudley Boyz vs. Mark Jindrak and Garrison Cade

After both teams came out of last night’s Wrestlemania with a loss, they were trying to prove to the Tag Team Champions Rob Van Dam and Booker T that they deserved a shot. Both teams gave it their all in this match. The end came with The Dudleys in controll. Bubba and Cade were the legal men. Bubba Ray Irish Whipped Cade into the ropes. On the rebound Bubba connected with a huge release powerbomb, driving the wind right out of Cade’s stomach. Bubba went for the cover but only managed to get a two count. Bubba was clearly pissed off. He grabbed Cade and started to get him to a standing position. However Cade wrangled his way out of it and connected with a picture perfect dropkick, knocking both him and Bubba down to the mat. The crowd were red hot because it was such an exciting match. Both men were down and gunning for the hot tag. The crowd were not really rooting for a certain team, but the atmoshphere was electric. Bubba was crawling towards his corner with D-Von’s hand outstretched. On the other side Garrison Cade was crawling to his partner Mark Jindrak. After several seconds both men got the hot tag. D-Von came storming into the ring and connected with a vicious clothesline on Jindrak. He connected with another two more before going for a cover. He only got a two count though because Garrison Cade who had obviously caught his breath back came in and attacked D-Von. The ref was trying to restore order in the ring, but it got worse when Bubba came into the ring to help out his partner. All four men were going at it in the ring with the ref trying to get involved. Bubba grabbed Cade and threw him over the top rope. Bubba then looked at D-Von and the crowd roared because they knew what was coming next. With Cade out of the ring on the floor, D-Von lifted Jindrak’s legs up, and Bubba connected with the 3D. The crowd were loving it. D-Von then got the three count and the victory for The Dudley Boyz.
Winners – The Dudley Boyz via pinfall

The Dudley Boys have their hands raised as the bell rings signalling the end of the match. Bubba and D-Von gave each other a slap on the chest for good measure. However, they then smiled. Bubba screamed to D-Von ‘D-Von…get the tables!!!!!’ This got the crowd in a frenzy. D-Von rolled under the bottom rope and rolled Cade back into the ring. He then rooted under the ring for a little bit before pulling out a table. He pushed it into the ring and let Bubba ray set it up. Once it was set up D-Von and Bubba connected with the 3D on Cade through the table. Bubba Ray then got a microphone and said that from now on The Dudley Boyz do what they want, when they want. He says him and his brother are the most succsessful tag team in sports entertainment history and they will prove that once they get their hands on the World Tag Team Championships. He says the wrong team won at Wrestlemania, but all will be sorted soon. Bubba then threw the microphone to D-Von who just said oh testify brother! The Dudley Boyz music plays again as they walk back up the ramp, leaving Garrison Cade and Mark Jindrak down and out in the ring, along with a broken table.

The crowd boo as they are revealed on the set. Christian is wearing a Christian T-shirt while Trish is just in casual clothes. Todd asks Christian why he turned on his friend. Christian said Jericho was not the same, Jericho was interested in one thing, and that one thing was the same desire that he had. Christian says he knew he would eventually get Trish Stratus, but he just had to beat it into Chris Jericho. Trish then says she thinks he gets the point now. Trish and Christian then share a passionate kiss. Todd looks nervous and nervousley looks away.

We then get a video package. It shows some highlights of the Brother vs. Brother, Kane vs. Undertaker match from Wrestlemania twenty last night. It shows how the match ended with Undertaker tombstone piledriving Kane for the victory. The video then showcases some of Kane’s most crazy moments. It comes to a close with an image of Kane, and writing next to it saying, Kane returns to Raw soon!

Next we go backstage again. We are taken inside Evolutions locker room. Evolution are sitting down looking all serious. Triple H says Chris Benoit will not be let off again next week. He then asks everyone if they know what to do tonight, They all say yes they do and they are damn ready. Triple H then asks Randy Orton if he is alright going to the ring on his own later. Orton says he’s fine about it, after all he did pin Mick Foley last night on the grandest stage of them all. Triple H then says he needs to tell them something else. However before he speaks, he goes to the locker room door and slams it shut, leaving the camera man staring at a closed door. Jim Ross can be heared telling the fans not to go anywhere, because up next, one half of the World Tag Team Champions Rob van Dam will go one on one with The Hurricane.

COMMERCIAL BREAK

We return to Monday Night Raw with a video package. It is hype for the next PPV, WWE Backlash. The video hypes it as being a joint brand PPV for both Raw and Smackdown. The video shows stars from Raw and Smackdown including, Chris Benoit, Shawn Michaels, Evolution, Eddie Guerrero, Kurt Angle, Brock Lesnar. The video comes to an end with a stil image of the Backlash text.

Then the music of World Tag Team Champions hits the speakers. Rob Van Dam and Booker T made their way down to the ring holding their belts. Lilian Garcia announces just Rob Van Dam because this is a singles match. After this, The Hurricane makes his way down to the ring getting a pretty solid face reaction. The Hurricane celebrates around the ring before the bell tolls and this second match of the evening is underway. Booker T stood on the outside as RVD and Hirricane locked up.

Match Number Two
Rob Van Dam (c) W/Booker T (c) vs. The Hurricane
With adrenaline running through the vains of Rob van Dam, he was determined to put up quite a show. Both men were fresh and healthy in the ring, and connected with several big hit moved throughout. Everytime Hurricane was in controll, Booker T would slap the mat, and get the crowd to cheer for Van Dam. The match was pretty long, and came to an end with The Hurricane in controll. He whipped RVD to the ropes, but Van Dam came back with a springboard elbow to Hurricanes chest. Hurricane fell to the mat, and Rob connected with a standing moonsault. He hooked Hurricanes leg but only managed to get a two count. The crowd was going crazy. Van Dam dragged Hurricane up and Whipped him into the corner. Van Dam followed up with a Monkey Flip, launching The Green man to the otherside of the ring. Van Dam then leaped onto the top turnbuckle and attempted the Five Star Frogsplash. However, right at the last minute The hurricane moved out of the way, causing Van Dam to crash and burn on the ring mat. The ball was back in Hurricane’s court. He lifted Van Dam to his knes, ran to the ropes and smashed Van Dam in the face with a dropkick. Hurricane went for the cover but he only got two aswell. The match continued. Hurricane backed Rob into a corner and started pounding away at the Tag Champ with right hands. The Hurricane then threw Van Dam to the mat and climbed the top rope. He went for the Diving Crossbody and connected, however, Van Dam rolled him up at the last minute landing in a pin attempt. However just to keep the crowd excited, Hurricane managed to get the shoulder up after two and a half. The crowd were really into this match. Van Dam was a bit upset that he couldn’t get the win there, but he carried on like a true soilder. Van Dam stomped away at Hirricane and then Irish Whipped him into the ropes. On the rebound Hurricane lifted his leg up for a kick attempt, but Van Dam grabbed it, and connected with an underhook kick, knocking Hurricane to the floor. Van Dam then leaped up to the top rope and for the secind time attempted the Five Star Frogsplash. This time he landed it, and the referee counted to three, giving Rob Van Dam the victory here tonight on Raw.
Winner – World Tag Team Champion Rob Van Dam via pinfall

The bell rang signalling the end of the match. The referee held Van Dam’s arm up in the air. Booker T rolled under the bottom rope and celebrated with his tag team partner, and Champion. Jim Ross hypes up the fact that The Hurricane pulled off quite the performance here tonight. He then tells us not to go anywhere, because coming up next, Goldberg has some hard words after his loss at Wrestlemania twenty last night.

COMMERCIAL BREAK

We return to Monday Night raw with Goldberg making his way through the halls in the backstage area. The crowd are cheering for him even though he lost last night to Smackdown’s Brock Lesnar at Wrestlemania twenty. After a few minutes, Goldberg makes his way from behind the curtain and steps into his fireworks punching and kicking. He walks down the ramp and gets into the ring holding a microphone. He is wearing jeans and a leather jacket over a T-Shirt. Goldberg listens to the crowd for a while. He says last night at Wrestlemania he was in a battle of the bulls. He locked horns with Smackdown’s animal and unfortunately lost. The crowd boo because they like Goldberg. Goldberg says he would have won, but one person let him down. One person didn’t do the right thing, one person didn’t do his job properly. That man is the same person who always messes up when the spotlight is on him. The crowd boo because they think they know who he is talking about. Golberg’s face turns into anger. He says that one man, is Stone Cold Steve Austin, the man that was meant to be the special guest referee last night.
Then suddenly the glass shatters and The Rattlesnake makes his way down to the ring. The crowd go bannanas as Stone Cold walked down the ramp wearing his classic vest. He got into the ring and saluted the crowd on all four turnbuckles with the one finger. Austin the got down and grabbed a microphone. He stared right into Goldberg’s eyes for several seconds before opening his mouth. Austin says last night at Wrestlemania, he did do his job properly. He did everything he wanted to do, he did everything he was meant to do, the only reason Goldberg walked out of Madison Square Garden the loser, was because he sucks. This got the crowd to cheer very loudly. Goldberg didn’t like that comment, but he was the only one all over the world that didn’t. Austin says Goldberg is just in a foul mood because he lost at the biggest event of them all. Austin then laughs and much to the crowds amusement, connects with a Stone Cold Stunner knocking Goldberg out. The crowd all stood up and cheered for The Rattlesnake. Austin one finger saluted Goldberg who wasn’t moving, and then stood up on all four turnbuckles again as his music played. Jim Ross and King say how Goldberg asked for that.

Then we get a graphic on the screen. It shows Randy Orton on the left holding his Intercontinental Championship, and Chris Jericho on the right looking sad and annoyed. Tonight on Monday Night Raw, Intercontinental Champion Randy orton puts his title on the line against a devestated Chris Jericho.

COMMERCIAL BREAK

When we return to Monday Night Raw, we hear the music of Woman’s Champion Victoria. As she makes her way down to the ring we get shown footage from Wrestlemania, where Victoria pinned Molly Holly and shaved her head bald. This got a good reaction from the fans. Victoria got into the ring and waited for her opponent tonight. Then the music of Gail Kim hits the speakers and she makes her way to the ring. The bell tolls and this match is ready to begin.

Match Number Three
Victoria (c) vs. Gail Kim
Non-Title
Both ladies were looking pretty good in this match. The champion Victoria looked the more dominant, but that was obvious seeing as she was holding the belt. Gail Kim hadn’t wrestled for a while so she was glad to be back in the ring, and she showed it too. The match came to an end with Victoria in charge. Victoria connected with a Swinging Side Slam, driving the wind right out of Gail Kim. Victoria then pulled Kim up by her hair and backed her up into the corner. Victoria connected with several hard forearms to the face before locking in a Bridging Reverse Chinlock. Victoria held this in the middle of the ring for a few minutes. Gail Kim almost tapped out a few times too, but in the end she managed to stay in the match and reverse it into a Chinlock of her own. Kim was now in control. As the match continued to progress, Kim got better and better. She climbed the top rope and waited until Victoria got to a standing position. As soon as she did, Gail Kim flew off the top rope and landed a Diving Hurricanrana. This got the crowd pretty pumped up actually. Kim went for the cover but unfortunately for her she only got a two count. So the match went on. Kim was in the driving seat, until she missed a Diving Crossbody from the top rope. Victoria caught her in mid air and slammed her down to the canvas with a hard Military Press Slam. Victoria didn’t go for the cover however, she just dragged Kim into position for the Widows Peak and connected with it. Victoria then hooked Gail Kim’s legs and got the three count here tonight on Raw.
Winner – WWE Woman’s Champion Victoria via pinfall

Victoria’s music plays, but it soon gets cut off as Molly Holly rolls into the ring complete with a hat. The crowd laugh at Molly Holly. Molly goes right for Victoria and starts brawling with her, trying to avenge the loss from last night at Wrestlemania. Victoria was clearly exhausted from her match just moments ago. Molly was slapping away at Victoria, however, The Woman’s Champion grabbed Molly’s hat and threw it into the crowd. This got a huge cheer because the crowd thought they would get to see Molly and her bald head. However the quick thinking Molly Holly had a wig on. Victoria looked at the crowd and then tried to rip the wig off Molly’s head. However, Molly Holly kept it on and rolled under the bottom rope to the outside. Molly Holly backed up the ramp, as Victoria stayed in the ring, not taking her eyes off Molly Holly.

COMMERCIAL BREAK

We go straight to the interview set backstage when we return to Raw. Todd Grisham is standing by with a microphone in his hands. He introduces his guest at this time, Y2J, Chris Jericho. The crowd cheer like crazy as Jericho gets into the shot. Before Todd could say anything, Jericho says he loved Trish, he would have done anything for that woman. He says last night at Wrestlemania, the biggest Wrestlemania in history, she embarrassed him, but he still loves her. Jericho then walks off with his head down after such a heartfelt, serious interview.

We then get a nice video package hyping up Smackdown this Thursday Night. It hypes what will happen during the fallout of Wrestlemania twenty. Then it hypes the fact that The Undertaker will be returning to Smackdown this Thursday on UPN. The video comes to a close with The Undertaker on his knee at Wrestlemania last night, and his father, Paul bearer standing behind him holding the urn up in the air.

Then we get another video package. We are in France and the camera pans around revealing La Resistance. Rene Dupree, Rob Conway and Sylvain Grenier. They are all sitting down at a table. Dupree then says Wrestlemania is behind them. They decided to take some time off and come and spend some time in the best country in the world. France. Dupree says La Resistance will be returning to Monday Night Raw soon.

Then we get the third video package. It lets the fans know that there is an encore presentation of Wrestlemania twenty and the Hall Of Fame ceremony this Wednesday Night on Pay-Per-View.

Then we go to ringside where Jim Ross and King talk about The Rock ‘n’ Sock Connection leaving Monday Night Raw tonight. Then we hear the music of Chris Jericho. The crowd all cheer for him as he walks down to the ring. Jericho doesn’t get any pyro or any effects tonight, he just walks to the ring with his head down to the ground, still devastated about last night. Jim Ross and King hype the fact that he will not be feeling his best here tonight. Then we hear Evolution’s music. Randy Orton and his Intercontinental Championship make their way down to the ring alone. Orton has a smug smile on his face as he gets into the ring, and hands over his CHampi0onship belt to the senior official. Then the bell rings and the main event is officially underway.

Main Event
Randy Orton (c) vs. Chris Jericho
For The Intercontinental Championship
With such a high stake in this match, one was to wonder whether Chris Jericho would put his differences with former friend Christian and Trish Stratus behind him. However, this was not the case. Jericho was not himself all the way through the match. The ending came when Jericho whipped Orton into the ropes. However, Orton who was on the ball tonight came flying back with a massive standing dropkick to Jericho’s face. Jericho fell through the middle ropes to the outside. The crowd boo’d Randy orton. The referee, only doing his job began counting out Chris Jericho. Jericho started moving on the count of four. He got up to his knees and rested by the announce table for a while. However Randy Orton rolled out of the ring and started pounding away at Jericho. The crowd were all over Randy Orton as he beat away at Y2J. Orton then grabbed Jericho by the hair and smashed his face on the announce table, before rolling him and himself back into the ring, stopping the referee’s ten count at eight. Orton continued to beat away at Jericho hitting him with stomps to the face, and to the gut. Orton then tried to pull Jericho up, but Jericho rolled Orton in a cradle. However the ref only managed to count to two before Orton threw himself out of the pinning predicament. The crowd were on fire at this point. They really thought Chris Jericho might have had some good luck here tonight. Orton was just shocked. However the match went on and the action continued. Orton dragged Jericho into the corner and hit him in the face, particularly the Jaw with devastating high knee’s. Orton then went to Irish Whip Jericho to the opposite corner, but Jericho reversed it and sent Orton into the corner. Jericho then came storming and connected with a running Enzeguri to the Intercontinental Champion’s face. The crowd got riled up now, and Jericho managed to lock Randy Orton in the Walls Of Jericho. The crowd were pleading with Orton to tap out so that Chris Jericho would become the Intercontinental Champion. However, after several moments in this submission hold, Christian and Trish Stratus made their way from behind the curtain to immense boos. They walked down the ramp with huge smiles etched across their faces. As soon as Jericho notices them, he lets go of the hold and walks over to the ropes nearest the ramp. Jericho stared at them, looking heartbroken. Christian grabbed Trish by the hair and planted a smacker on her lips. Jericho was close to tears, he turned round and then suddenly BAM! He was caught with an RKO out of no where. Randy Orton hooked both of Jericho’s legs and got the three count to retain the Intercontinental Championship.
Winner – Still Intercontinental Champion, Randy orton

Randy Orton’s music played, and the champion stood up and grabbed his Championship belt from the referee. Randy Orton then lifted it high into the air and soaked up all the boos and abuse he was receiving from the New York crowd. Jericho just stayed down on the canvas holding his head in pain. Christian and Trish Stratus had already started to back up the ramp laughing because they just costed Jericho a victory, and the Intercontinental Championship. Jim Ross then tells us that up next, we say goodbye to The Rock ‘n’ Sock Connection.

COMMERCIAL BREAK

When we return to Monday Night Raw, Lillian Garcia introduces The Rock ‘n’ Sock Connection. The Rock’s music plays and he makes his way down to the ring getting an awesome ovation. The Rock with a huge smile on his face then gets a microphone and says, it has been a hell of a ride, but unfortunately it has to come to an end. The Rock says first of all he would love to bring out the man, that made this group what it is today, Mick Foley. Foley’s music then hits and he comes out wearing his red and black flannel shirt with a white sock, Mr. Socko around his left arm. Foley gets into the ring and embraces with The Rock, in a massive feel good moment. Foley then takes a microphone and says it’s a sad, sad day here on New York, however, when it’s time to go, it’s time to go. He says last night at Wrestlemania twenty, The Rock ‘n’ Sock connection were beaten by a very good bunch of assholes. The crowd cheer because he is clearly taking the piss out of Evolution. The Rock then says before the do leave, they have a video that they would like to play. The video plays and it highlights all the best bits for The Rock and Mick Foley. The video goes on for a good three minutes before closing with a picture of both men at Wrestlemania last night. Then Foley is about to speak, but Evolution jump over the barricade and into the ring behind the tag team. Ric Flair connects with a chop block on The Rock, while Batista clobbers into the back of Mick Foley. Triple H stands in the ring laughing and telling the rest of his team to decimate them. The Rock and Mick Foley do try and fight back however, it is to no avail. Flair chops the crap out of The Rock’s chest and backs him into the corner. Batista however backs The Rock into another corner and punches away at his face. Batista then brings himself and The Rock into the middle of the ring and connects with a huge Batista Bomb, knocking The Great One out cold. The crowd are booing like crazy now. Flair throws Mick Foley over to Triple H and he connects with The Pedigree. Evolution’s music plays and they all stand there in the middle with smug smiles on their faces. Mick Foley and The Rock are both lying flat on the mat in a pool of their own blood. Triple H, Batista, Ric Flair and Intercontinental Champion Randy Orton all stand in the middle of the ring with their arms, and Orton’s title high in the air, as Monday Night Raw fades off the air.

END OF THE SHOW

WWE Thursday Night Smackdown
Thursday 18th March 2004
The Fallout Of Wrestlemania 20
smallest_kf43_smackdown.png

Tonight, Smackdown begins with a Wrestlemania highlight video. Almost the same as the one shown at the beginning of Raw this past Monday. However, this video obviously went through all of the Smackdown and inter brand matches. First it showed The Big Show retain the United States Championship over John Cena. Then it showed Sable and Torrie Wilson defeat Raw’s Miss Jackie and Stacy Keibler in the First Ever Playboy Evening Gown match. Next we saw Rey Mysterio win the cruiswerweight Championship in the Cruiserweight Open. Up next was Smackdown’s Brock Lesnar defeating Raw’s Bill Goldberg after two consecutive F-5’s. Then we see the APA win the WWE Tag Team Championships in the fatal fourway Tag Team Championship match. Then we see Eddie Guerrero retain the WWE Championship by rolling Kurt Angle up after taking off his boot to distract the Olympic gold medalist. Then finally it showed The Undertaker defeat Raw’s Kane. The video came to an end with a still image of The Undertaker stanidng in the ring next to his father Paul Bearer.

Then we fade into the usual opening Smackdown video. It is a little bit different though because of the new WWE year so to speak. After this we fly into the arena for Smackdown in New York City. The camera shows the crazy pyro display from the top of the ramp, before zooming round the fans, whgo all seem to be having a great time. Michael Cole and Tazz then welcome us to Smackdown, the fallout of Wrestlemania 20. They tell us that Wrestlemania is over, but tonight is going to be just as big, because tonight, Eddie Guerrero will be having his Victory celebration. Also tonight, The Undertaker makes his Smackdown return after beating his brother Kane last Sunday.

Then we hear the music of The United States Champion Big Show. He makes his way to the ring holding his United States Championship around his shoulder. He has a massive smile on his face after beating John Cena at Wrestlemania 20. Michael Cole and tazz hype up just how big he was in person. Big Show got into the ring and waited his opponent. Then Hardcore Holly’s music hit the speaker syetem. Hardcore Holly came down to the ring looking serious and determined as usual. As the two locked eyes, the bell tolls and the match is officially underway.

Match Number One
The Big Show (c) vs. Hardcore Holly
Non-Title Match
Kicking off with the first match of the evening, and the Big Show looked really good. He lost loads of wait leading up to Wrestlemania, and after sucsessfull winning at the grandest stage of them all, Show was really happy. Hardcore Holly however looked rather good. He put up a pretty good fight with the five hundred pounder. The match came to an end with Big Show still in controll of course. Big Show threw Hardcore Holly into the turnbuckle and smiled as he scarily stalked him. Big Show then propped him up and motioned to the crowd to be quiet so they can hear this. The United States Champion then slapped Holly’s chest so hard that Holly actually collapsed down to the mat in pain. Show’s smile esculated into a big grin from ear to ear. The crowd were booing Big Show, but he didn’t care. Show then lifted Hardcore Holly up, but Holly put up some sort of fight. Holly punched away at Show who now got Holly locked in a bear hug. Holly although punching was losing energy and oxygen. Show got angrier and angrier because Hardcore Holly didn’t want to give up. Big Show, not having any luck with the bear hug threw Holly down and started stomping away at him. Show was not smiling now, instead he was frothing at the mouth in frustration. So Big Show decided to put an end to it. He lifted Hardcore Holly up with one arm and slammed him down with a devestating chokeslam. Show then covered Hardcore Holly and got the three count here on Smackdown.
Winner – WWE United States Champion The Big Show via pinfall

The Big Show’s music plays and he stands up clearly pissed off with not being able to beat Hardcore Holly as easy as he would have liked. Show lifted his arms up in the air and roared like a lion at his prey. Big Show then grabbed a microphone from the stage hand. Show said he did what everyone knew he would do, at Wrestlemania, he put that little kid John Cena back down to earth with a chokeslam. Show then says Cena didn’t stand a chance with the five hundred pound monster. He says he is going to have this belt forever, because there is just no body who can take him down. Show then throws the microphone down onto Holly’s body. Then suddenly the new WWE Tag Team Champions, The APA came storming into the ring and attacked The Big Show. The crowd were loving it. Farooq was chopping away at Show’s legs while Bradshaw connected with two clotheslines from hell knocking The monster down to the mat. The APA then held up their Tag Team Championship belts after an out of the blue attack. Michael Cole and Tazz hype up the fact that this attack came from no where, they then wonder whether APA and Big Show have some sort of beef with each other.

COMMERCIAL BREAK

We return to Smackdown with a video. It says still to come tonight is Eddie Guerrero’s victory celebration after he defeated Kurt Angle at Wrestlemania 20. Then we get a video letting us know if you missed Wrestlemania and The Hall Of Fame Ceremony, and you missed the encore presentaion last night, it will be shown again on Saturday Night on PPV.

We then go backstage where we see Shelton Benjamin and Charlie Hass stretching and warming up. They say that they should have won the tag team match at Wrestlemania. Haas continues to moan, but Benjamin tells him to quit whining. He says if they are going to get a tag team title shot, they have to earn it and show that they can do it. Haas apologises and agrees with Shelton Benjamin.

Match Number Two
Tajiri W/Akio and Sakoda vs. Jamie Noble vs. Ultimo Dragon vs. Funaki vs. Nunzio vs. Billy Kidman
Over The Top Rope Battle Royal
All six men were trying to prove something, and that was that they all deserve a cruiserweight championship match against Rey Mysterio. Surely Smackdown general manager Paul Heyman was watching closely, and of course Rey Mysterio was because we keep getting clips of Mysterio watching this match in the back on a television monitor. Tajiri started the match off on a strong point by eliminating Funaki, who was really only in the match to add up the numbers it seemed. Funaki was resting by the ropes when all of a sudden he was caught with the Buzzsaw Kick, knocking him backwards over the ropes. Takirir being the fighting man that he is didn’t take time to celebrate instead he went straight back to the action. The next man to be eliminated was Billy Kidman. Tajiri locked Nunzio into the traianchilar, then kicked him in the head with a massive kick. Kidman then leaped off the top rope and connected with his pattented 450 splash. However, as soon as Kidman got back to his feet, Tajiri knocked him over the top rope with a picture perfect standing dropkick. Tajiri was on fire. However, straight after this elimination, Ultimo Dragon grabbed Tajiri from behind and tried to throw him over the top rope. Dragon got close but then Jamie Noble came running behind the both of them and lifted them both over the top rope. Jamie Noble turned around and started celebrating, however, Ultimo Dragon and Tajiri both held on and were not eliminated yet. Tajiri and Dragon gave each other a stern look and then grabbed Noble and threw him over the top rope getting a pretty good reaction from the fans. Later on in the match, Ultimo Dragon hit Nunzio with a twisting DDT eliminating him from the equation, leabing just Tajiri and Ultimo Drago in the match.

Tajiri and The Dragon put on quite a showing. Dragon whipped Tajiri into the ropes, but Tajiri came back with a handspring back elbow, knocking Dragin down to the mat. Tajiri continued the offence as he locked Dragon in some sort of Boston Crab move. Tajiri then went to the top rope and launched off, hitting Dragon with a moonsault. However because there was no pin falls in this match, Tajiri had to try and lift Dragon to a standing position. As he was doing this Dragon rolled out of it and landed a beautiful Dragon Suplex. This knocked both cruiserweights down, and got an applause from the crowd in attendance. As the match progressed both men used more moves from their arsenal. The match finally came to an end however, when Ultimo Dragon leaped off the top rope. As he was in mid air, Tajiri spat out the green mist right into Dragons face. The crowd started to boo Tajiri. Dragon held his face and couldn’t see anything. He stood up and was met by Tajiri’s Buzzsaw kick, knocking The Dragon right over the top rope, and giving Tajiri the victory here tonight on Smackdown.
Winner – Tajiri

The bell tolled and Tajiri, complete with green all over his mouth, lifted his arm up. He got a heel reaction from the fans, but The Japanese Buzzsaw couldn’t care less. Tajiri looked at Ultimo Dragon on the outside and produced a slight smile making it clear that he is here to win. Michael Cole and Tazz go through the fact that all these cruiserweights put up a good showing, but Tajiri is surely a strong contender for the cruiserweight Championship. The shot then went to the back where Rey Mysterio was looking shocked at how good they all did. Mysterio then looked at his Cruiserweight belt before turning his attention to someone who had just entered his locker room. Still to come on Smackdown, The Smackdown return of The Undertaker and Paul Bearer!

COMMERCIAL BREAK

When we return to Smackdown, we get a video package showing highlights from Brock Lesnar vs. Goldberg at Wrestlemania 20 this past Sunday. It shows both men hitting their finishing moves, and then Lesnar connecting with two consecutive F-5’s. The video ends with a picture of Brock Lesnar looking as lethal as ever. Michael Cole says The Animal is here tonight.

We then go backstage. Brock Lesnar is sitting down on a chair taping up his wrists. Lesnar then turns his attention to Josh Matthews who has come over. Matthews says he just came to get an interview after his impressive victory this past Sunday against Goldberg. Lesnar doesn’t say anything. He looks at Matthews and then starts to intimidate him. Lesnar backs Matthews up to the wall and breathes heavily in his face. Matthews clearly looks scared as he takes a deep breath and a gulp. Lesnar then knocks Matthews hands and makes his drop the microphone. Lesnar then smiles and walks off, leaving Matthews a shaking, quivering mess.

We are back in the arena now, and we hear the music of Torrie Wilson. She makes her way to the ring getting a very good pop. She gets in the ring and then watches as Sable makes her way down to the ring also getting a very nice pop. Cole and Tazz hype the fact that these two divas defeated Raw’s Miss Jackie and Stacy Keibler at Wrestlemania in the first ever playboy evening gown match.

Match Number Three
Torrie Wilson vs. Sable
This was not a fantastic match, but both divas put up a pretty good fight. Torrie was looking good hitting various DDT’s to Sable. Torrie then locked Sable in a headlock and landed a snap suplex. She went for the cover but only managed to get a two count. Torrie didn’t give up however because she grabbed Sable up and whipped her into the corner. Torrie then connected with a few hard forearms to Sable’s face. Torrie then hit a monkey flip launching Sable to the other side of the ring. The end of the match came when Sable went for the Sable Bomb. However Torrie Wilson slid out of it and rolled Sable up for the three count.
Winner – Torrie Wilson via pinfall

The bell rang signalling the end of the match. The referee held Torrie Wilsons arm up in the air and she soaked up the good reaction she was getting. Sable then got up to her feet obviously not happy about losing. However she lifted Torrie Wilsons arm up in the air and celebrated in the ring with her. Both divas then hugged and left up the ramp. Michael Cole and Tazz hype up that Wrestlemania proved that Smackdown is the better brand, because Smackdown defeated Raw in all of the interbrand matches.

We then go into the parking lot. A car is heard. Then much to the pleasure of the crowd, a Lo-Rider pulled up and Eddie Guerrero was seen getting out of it with a huge smile on his face. He holds the WWE Championship on his shoulder and smiles to the camera. Cole says still to come tonight, Eddie Guerrero’s victory celebration.

COMMERCIAL BREAK

We return to Smackdown in the backstage area. Rey Mysterio and Chavo Guerrero are walking down the hall. Chavo says he wanted to congratulate Rey on winning last night, and taking HIS Cruiserweight Championship. The crowd boo. Then Chavo tells them not to boo because he sn’t being bad. He just wanted to simply say that at least if it’s not himself holding the belt, then it’s his buddy Rey Mysterio. Rey looks confused because they hated each other before Wrestlemania. Chavo then tells Mysterio that they have a tag team match next. Chavo then walks off alone and Rey Mysterio looks a little bit confused.

We then go into a video package hyping up Backlash that will be on PPV in four weeks time. It hypes people such as Brock Lesnar, Eddie Guerrero, The Undertaker from the Smackdown side, because it’s a joint brand PPV. Backlash in four weeks time, live from Boston mass.

Then we are back in the arena where the music of Chavo Guerrero hits the speakers. Chavo makes his way down to the ring acting like a face, even though he was a heel before and at Wrestlemania. Chavo gets in the ring and waits for his tag team partner. Then Rey Mysterio makes his way dsown to the ring with his Cruiserweight Championship, getting a good pop from the fans. Mysterio gets in the ring acting a bit cautious of Chavo. However Chavo just pats him on the shoulder and gets him ready. Then The Basham Brothers come down to the ring. Michael Cole and Tazz tell us that The Bahams were one of the teams in the fatal four way Tag team Championship match.

Match Number Four
Rey Mysterio (c) and Chavo Guerrero vs. The Basham Brothers
In one of the better matches of the night. Rey Mysterio showed just why he was picked to hold the cruiserweight championship. However the talking point in this match was why Chavo was acting all suspicious now that he has lost the belt. Anyway Mysterio and Danny basham locked up for while going back and forth before Mysterio got the hot tag to Chavo. Chavo came into the ring and cleared house, he then hit the Brain buster. The match came to an end with Doug and Chavo in the ring. Chavo whipped Doug to the ropes and went for a suplex. However, Doug countered it and rolled Chavo up into a pinning pridicament. Chavo managed to roll the shoulder up at two and a half though. The match continued. Doug and Danny being the tag team in this match kept tagging each other in keeping one man fresh. They worked on Chavo for a while in their corner hotting double team suplexes off the ropes. However Chavo managed to connect and land a dropkick to gain some momentum. Chavo started crawling back to his corner to try and tag in Rey Mysterio. However on the other hand, Doug Basham was doing the same. It got neck and neck, however, Doug managed to get the tag first. Danny Basham came into the ring and grabbed Chavo by the leg. Danny taunted Mysterio now but maybe that was the wrong decision because Chavo got up and managed to hit a neck breaker on Danny. Chavo then got the tag to Mysterio who came in hitting clotheslines here, dropkicks there, getting the crowd into a frenzy of cheers. Mysterio then ran and knocked Doug Basham off the apron and watched as Chavo ran over to take care of him. Mysterio then hit the drop toe hold on Danny and connected with the six-one-nine. Mysterio then dropped the dime and connected with the West Coast Pop. Rey Mysterio then covered Danny basham for three and got the win for his team.
Winners – Chavo Guerrero and Rey Mysterio (c) by pinfal

Rey Mysterios music hits and he celebrates with his Cruiserweight Championship belt. The fans give him a standing ovation. Chavo Guerrero then comes into the ring and congratulates Rey Mysterio again. Mysterio continues to look confused. Michael Cole and Tazz are also confused as to why Chavo is acting all nice to Mysterio.

We then go backstage. We are taken to a dimly lit room. The camera then reveals Paul Bearer and The Undertaker. They get a massive cheer from the Smackdown faithfuls. Bearer says tonight The Undertaker will make a statement. Tonight The Undertaker will make all his intentions clear once and for all. Bearer then laughs very wierdly before the scene finishes.

COMMERCIAL BREAK

Smackdown returns in the backstage area. John Cena is sitting down in a locker room. Cena has a smug look on his face as the crowd cheer for him. Then the door opens and in walk the WWE Tag Team Champions, The APA. Cena stands up and shakes both of their hands. He thanks them both for taking care of some business here tonight. The crowd and everyone now realizes why APA attacked Big Show at the start of the programme. APA collect their money and tell Cena that is was nice doing business with them. However, just as The APA were walking out of the door, they bump into Smackdown general manager Paul Heyman. The crowd boo. Heyman tells the APA and Cena that they had quite a good deal earlier tonight, however, he has had a five hundred pound giant going on at him tonight, so heres whats going to happen. Next week The APA will face…THE BIG SHOW. The crowd like this announcement. The APA look a bit worried however.

We are back in the arena and we hear the music of Rikishi and Scotty 2 Hotty. They get a nice reaction as they make their way to the ring. Cole and Tazz remind everyone that they lost the WWE Tag Team Championships this past Sunday at Wrestlemania. Then Worlds Greatest Tag Team make their way to the ring. Shelton benjamin obviously the team leader here. Hass follows close behind.

Match Number Five
Rikishi and Scotty 2 Hotty vs. Worlds Greatest Tag Team
With both teams being unsucsessful at this past Sundays Wrestlemania, they were out with something to prove. Throughout the match Shelton Benjamin was acting as team captain. He kept giving orders to Charlie Haas, who gladly followed him. Rikishi and Scotty on the other hand were getting on the right side of the crowd and were giving their best moves. The match came to an end with Scotty 2 Hotty and Charlie Haas in the ring. Haas hit a Northen Lights Suplex on Scotty and pinned him, but he only got a two count. Haas stood back up and went to tag in Shelton Benjamin. Benjamin refused to tag himself in, instead he told Haas that he can’t give up if they want to be Tag Team Champions one day. Haas still exhausted stayed in the match but got caught off guard by Scotty 2 Hotty who nailed a Shuffle Side Kick. The crowd went nuts. Scotty then ran over and tagged in his partner Rikishi. Rikishi came into the match and took down Haas with a clothesline. Rikishi then grabbed Charlie Haas and connected with a Samoan Drop. Rikishi then stood up and performed a dance for the croed who all loved it. Shelton benjamin was stood on the apron yelling at Charlie Haas, telling him to get up. Haas eventually did get up but got whipped to the ropes by Rikishi. However Shelton benjamin tagged himself in this time. Haas rolled out of the ring still clearly exhausted, while Shelton Benjamin ducked a clothesline attempt from Rikishi. Benjamin knocked Scotty 2 Hotty off the apron and turned his attention to Rikishi. Rikishi dived in for attack, but benjamin dodged it again, and connected with a huge superkick, knocking Rikishi down to the mat. Benjamin then covered him, hooked his legs and got the three count.
Winners – Shelton benjamina and Charlie Haas. The Worlds Greatest Tag Team by pinfall

Their music hit and Shelton Benjamin started celebrating in the ring. Charlie Haas walked around to his partner but didn’t get quite the reaction he wanted. Benjamin yelled at him and told him he has to step his game up next time. Benjamin and Haas walked up the ramp to the backstage area. However back in the ring Rikishi sat up and looked really dissapointed. Cole hypes up the fact that not only did they lose the Tag Team Championships at Wrestlemania, but they also lost here tonight on Smackdown. Scotty rolls under the top rope hurt from the match and helps Rikishi up. Rikishi looks at Scotty and asks him where the hell he was. Scotty said he was down on the outside it wasn’t his fault. Rikishi shakes his head and pushes Scotty in rage. Scotty doesn’t know why Rikishi is acting like this. Rikishi then yells ‘come on’ at him as they make their way to the back.

COMMERCIAL BREAK

We return to Thursday Night Smackdown with a video leting everyone know that the encore presentation of The WWE Hall Of Fame Ceremony from this past Saturday is on again this Saturday night on PPV.

Then we are back in the arena and the music of Matt Hardy hits the speakers. The crowd go wild as he emerges from behind the curtain sticking his arm up in the air. Matt Hardy slowly makes his way down to the ring soaking up all the praise he is receiving from the crowd. Hardy gets into the ring and takes a microphone. He says he hasn’t had a very good few months here on Smackdown. He even thought about leaving while he still had his pride. But he continued at it, he never said die and now it’s his time to make an impact. Hardy says 2004 will be his year and by Wrestlemania 21 he will be a champion again, just where he belongs. Hardy then says the reason he is out here is not to blabber on for ages because that’s not his style. He says he has come out for the open challenge that he said he would have tonight. Hardy then waits and challenges anyone who is sat in the back for a match. After several seconds the music of A-Train hits. The hairy beast makes his way to the ring. He gets in Hardy’s face and tries to intimidate him. However Matt keeps composed and kind of relaxed. A-Train then takes the microphone. He says he has something to say. 2004 is also going to be the year of the Train. He then says choo choo (noise of a train) in a demonic style. A-Train then takes down Matt Hardy with a clothesline as the bell tolls signalling that this match is officially underway.

Main Event
Matt Hardy vs. A-Train
Open Challenge
Matt Hardy was out to please, just the same as A-Train. Both men wanted to start the new WWE year in style, and were pulling out all the stops tonight on Smackdown. A-Train dominated a lot of the match. He connected with a devestating Powerbomb into the turnbuckle paddding which almost finished Hardy. A-Train went for the cover but only got a two count. The crowd went nuts when Hardy kicked out. The match went on and in the end, Hardy started to get back in the driving seat. A-Train whiped hardy into the ropes, Hardy came back and ducked a clothesline, however on the return he was greeted to A-trains huge boot. Hardy fell to the mat like a sack of spuds. A-train however didn’t pin him, instead A-Train lifted him back up with his hair and got him in position for the Derailer. However Matt Hardy slipped down the back of him, turned him around, kicked him in the mid section and connected with a Side Effect. The crowd were all rooting for Hardy once again. Matt climbed the turnbuckle and leaped off connecting with a leg drop from the top rope. Hardy then got up, and waited for A-Train to get back to his feet. It was a slow process but as soon as he did, Matt Hardy leveled him with a Twist Of Fate. Hardy made the cover and got the three count.
Winner – Matt Hardy via pinfall

Matt Hardy’s music hit and he rolled out of the ring and celebrated with some fans. Hardy was exhausted but clearly happy that he just beat A-train. The crowd were going crazy with this win. Hardy walked back up the ramp not taking his eyes off the fans. A-Train however got to his knees in the ring and was going crazy. A-Train rolled out of the ring and grabbed the steel ring steps. He used all of his power and might to throw them into the ring. The crowd began booing his ass so he pretended to go and attack the fans at ringside. A-Train then got up the ramp looking really pissed off, before dissapearing behind the curtain. Michael Cole and Tazz tell us that Hardy has started the new WWE year in style, but A-Train doesn’t seem happy.

We then get a video hyping the Wrestlemania revenge tour that will be coming to the UK next week. Also Raw and Smackdown will both be taped in the UK next week. Michael Cole and Tazz then tell us not to go away, because up next is Eddie Guerrero’s victory celebration.

COMMERCIAL BREAK

We return to Smackdown with the camera fixed on the ring. Just like Raw there is a red carpet layed out in the ring. The music of WWE Champion Eddie Guerrero hits the speaker system. The crowd all stand up and give him a standing ovation. Gold, silver and blue confetti falls from the ceiling as Eddie makes his way out in his lo rider. Guerrero has a huge smile on his face as he exits the car and walks slowly down to the ring. Guerero walks up the ring steps and through the ropes before taking a microphone from one of the stage hands at ringside. Guerrero listens to the Eddie chants that have began circulating around the arena here in New York City. Guerrero pauses for a short while before saying mamacita, he still holds this belt, and he is still the best here on Smackdown holmes. He says first of all he wants to congratulate his good friend Chris Benoit over on Monday Night Raw for finally achieving his goal of becmong World Heavyweight Champion. Eddie then says but this past Sunday at Wrestlemania 20, he also did the unthinkable, he defeated Kurt Angle to retain the WWE Championship holmes, he says he proved that he is better than Kurt Angle, he proved that he is worthy of being the WWE Champion esse.
Then suddenly the music of Kurt Angle is heard. The crowd boo because Kurt Angle is interupting Eddie Guerrero’s victory celebration. Angle appears from behind the curtain and already has a microphone in hand. He speaks as he makes his way to the ring. Angle says Eddie did beat him at Wrestlemania, he’s not denying that, but Eddie had to cheat, Eddie had to steal the victory, therefore he has come to a conclusion that the WWE title that Eddie is carrying around is stolen property of Kurt Angle. The crowd don’t like this so they boo the crap out of Kurt Angle. Eddie laughs and says Angle will never get over the fact that he beat him at the grandest stage of them all. Eddie then calls Kurt Angle a sore loser. Angle begins to get enraged now as he enters the ring. Angle takes down the straps of his singlet before speaking again. Angle says he did lose at Wrestlemania last Sunday like he said, but he will do anything to get his title back, and that’s why he is out here. Angle then smirks and says he has a rematch clause in his contract. The crowd boo. Eddie smirks and says he sure does.
However the music of The Animal Brock Lesnar hits and the crowd boo some more as Brock Lesnar makes his way down to the ring. Eddie and Kurt Angle look at the ramp as Lesnar, fresh off his Wrestlemania victory over Goldber makes his way into the ring. Lesnar takes a microphone and says he hates to interupt but just like Kurt Angle, he still has his rematch clause in his contract. This gets the fans even more outraged, outraged but excited because anything can happen. Lesnar says after he lost the WWE Championship at No Way Out he never got his rematch because that idiot Goldberg got in his way. Lesnar then says no he has taken Goldberg out of the equation he is here to get his rematch. Eddie, Angle and Lesnar all look around at each other not knowing what in the hell to do.
However the music of general manager Paul Heyman hits and he makes his way down to the ring not looking too happy. Heyman rishes into the ring already holding a microphone. He says he knows they all want title matches but he is going to let everyone know whats happening. Kurt Angle is right, he does have a rematch, but brock Lesnar is also right, and he still hasn’t used his rematch clause. Therfore the only thing to do is this, none of you get a Championship shot! The crowd actually cheer Paul heyman here. Lesnar and Kurt Angle look on pissed off at this announcement. Heyman smiles and says yeah that’s how things are going to go. Then suddenly Kurt Angle lifts heyman up in the air and connectd with an Angle Slam. Lesnar stares at Angle and then joind in himself. Brock Lesnar picks Paul heyman up and connects with a devestating F-5. The crowd were going nuts. However Eddie Guerrero also decided to get involved just for good measures. Eddie leaped into the top rope and landed the Five Star Frogsplash on the general manager, Paul Heyman. The crowd were still going nuts now. All three men however moved in close and looked like they were about to brawl…..
GONG!!!!! GONG!!!!! GONG!!!!!
The music of The Undertaker hit the speaker system and the crowd all got goosebumps. Taker and his father Paul Bearer appeared from behind the curtain. The druids came out also and alligned themselves along the ramp with the flame torches. The lights went out and the smoke filled the arena. Undertaker and Bearer took forever to get to the ring but it was a fascinating moment. They eventually got to the ring. Bearer stayed on the outside holding Undertakers urn up in the air. Taker however got into the ring. He looked at Kurt Angle, then he slowly turned his attention to Brock Lesnar. After that The Undertaker turned all his attention on Paul heyman who was not back to his feet. Heyman looked up at Undertaker and kind of pleaded with him to leave him alone. Taker then stopped looking at Paul heyman and turned to Eddie Guerrero. However this was just a trick. As soon as Heyman looked safe, Undertaker hoisted him up and connected with a huge Tombstone Piledriver. The crowd cheered like crazy as Undertaker’s music played again, and The Deadman signalled to Eddie Guerrero that he is also coming for the WWE Championship. The show comes to an end with Michael Cole and tazz hyping up the fcat that we still don’t know who will be the number one contender for the WWE Championship.

Even though I already know what happens, I will review Smackdown and Raw.

Raw Review

BM: The best match on Raw would have to be the mian event Intercontinental Title match. Not because it had Y2J in it (lol), but because it had good length for a recap, and it futhers the feud between Y2J an Christian, as well as putting Orton over.

WM: The worst match for me would be the Women's Match, simply because I don't really care for the Women's Division.

BP: I loved the Rock and Mick Foley farewell promo, as it puts Evolution as real monster heels. There was also a swerve in my opinion, since I thought for sure that the Rock N' Sock Connection would get the better since it is their farewell.

WP: There wasn't really a bad promo in my opinion.

Smackdown Review

BM: The Cruiserweight Battle Royal was a great match, although I think that Billy Kidman should have won, but I see that you may be pushing Tajiri.

WM: Once again, the worst match was the Women's match. The match was only four lines, and as I said earlier, I don' really care for the Diva's.

BP: The last promo was perhaps the best recapped promo I have ever seen. I love how you are pushing the Undertaker to main event status, as well as putting Brock in the WWE Title picture after his Goldberg feud.

WP: I didn't really like the Brock Lesnar backstage promo, although it did build him up as a sort of monster.

Cheap Plugs: My Raw and Riggs' Smackdown are up in our BTB WWE: A New Beginning.
