20 Years Ago Today

20 Years ago today one of the saddest moments ever took place, for me anyway. The WWF bought WCW.



I loved WCW, even in them dying days I was still a fan, maybe not as big of a fan, but still was one. Crazy to think it’s been 20 damn years. Only 3 more days til 20 Years since the final Nitro. RIP WCW.

Blame Jamie Kelner. Bischoff and his group had every intention of keeping it around but once Kelner said WCW wouldn't be on TNT/TBS anymore, it was essentially useless property

Fuscient or however you spell it could've easily given Bonnie Hammer a phone call and try get on USA after WWF bails to TNN.
People seem to forget that was ever an option.....Tommy Dreamer said he got to have a phone call with USA over ECW but liquidation fucked that up.

But as to this.....I'ma have the same reaction today I did when this happened

With the way WCW was losing money at the time, I doubt they could've gone to USA. It was Turner or bust. And that's only cause Ted Turner loved pro wrestling. Once he lost power, the writing was on the wall.

Vince bought the shit for like 2 mil.....Fusient offered 75.....

Brad Siegel wanted out.
