    Was surprised by this for sure. Loved Kristen Stewart as Diana almost writing herself out of dark history; watching that struggle with the inevitable is compelling. Last minute pick for something to watch that turned out to be one of my favorites of the year.

    Another one to add to the suburban angst and daddy issues canon. The abuse of a deaf girl goes to some very dark places. A good double feature with American Beauty. Cuthbert was never a great actress though she's solid in this, it's a bit of a mess overall but captivating in its own way.

    Not the greatest film ever made, but very unique. Afghanistan is truly the graveyard of empires and to see that through a supernatural mystic lense instead of some clinical military procedural was refreshing. The ending is sickeningly vague though, you can tell these guys made Blair Witch.

    Disheveled, grunting, pre diabetic Russell Crowe rips through traffic in a red mist of MGTOW rage. So much shit in this movie makes no sense, but who cares. Ending ties it up real well and they kept it short.

    Run Lola Run has this distinct Y2K feel about it that I appreciate. The story takes a back seat to the style, but it's cohesive enough to have substance. It's like a Eurobeat version of Crank. Definitely a favorite of mine.

    Not a critically acclaimed film by any means, mostly known for Biel getting naked, but I like moody dramas like this. Forest Whitaker plays a loser so well, and Eddie Redmayne looks like Adam Lanza. Liotta is Liotta. Somewhere between Crash and Magnolia in quality, worth a look.

    Watched Narc (2002) staring Liotta and Jason Patric(?) last night. Wasn't impressed by the film making, very run of the mill, but Liotta is so damn good in this movie, his best performance post Goodfellas. Great ending too. 7/10
