    I think the timeline does give Vince some leeway tbf tho He stepped down only a few months after the promise and I do believe it was in between them and him coming back that Goldberg wasn't re-signed so really that would be on Nick Khan more than anyone if it was known the promise was made...

    ....that's what Goldberg is saying too????? He said he'd do it if Vince promised him a retirement match, Vince did. Goldberg did the match, Goldberg did not get a retirement match. So yes he should have said no instead of trying to get in shape while sick

    Ah I was a year off actually, it was Elimination Chamber 2021 where he had COVID prior (this word will probably be ignored) and didn't have time to train or anything before going of for a Roman match...

    He means the match he beat the Fiend too btw if you guys don't remember. He was then supposed to put over Roman at Mania a month later but then COVID shut everything down, Goldberg had just been sick when the Fiend plans were thrown together last minute

    I don't think he has COVID during the match or anything, that's be next level scumbaggery, but he was sick when Vince approached him about it relatively last minute and couldn't really attempt to get in shape
