  • I second Nukem's opinion on the post schism titles. Uncanny was great because you got to see not just the fall of Cyclops, but the rest of the team as well which is still being felt today in the X-titles. Anything to do with Wolverine (my hatred of him aside) and the X-men however has been bland and just a total bore. Hence why I no longer get it.
When it comes to Marvel, Rick Remender is their best writer. I loved his run on Venom, Secret Avengers, & Uncanny X-Force, and his current run with Uncanny Avengers is the best I have seen him. He does a few things that remind me of Grant Morrison, like trying to utilize the entire backstory created for characters, or returning long lost characters, but his pacing is definitely better.

I know how you feel with X-Men, I was a huge fan and decided to start collecting Wolverine & The X-Men and Uncanny X-Men after the Schism, Uncanny was kinda cool because it was the downward spiral of Cyclops, but Wolverine & The X-Men the only things I liked about it were Gambit was the sex ed teacher, Doop was sleeping with anything, and Quentin Quire, everything else was entirely forgettable.
He can make people see what he wants them to, and its powerful enough to deceive telepaths. Being a fan of Age of Apocalypse when I heard that Uncanny X-Force was returning for The Dark Angel Saga I started picking up the graphics. Every character winds up with a story just for them, like Otherworld where they show the relationship between Psylock & Captain Britain, or The Dark Angel Saga being all about Archangel. Kurt Darkholme(AoA Nightcrawler) eventually joins the team to kill off escaped AoA characters, and there is a lot to do with the Weapon Program as Phantomex, Deadpool, & Wolverine are all part of that history.
I actually didn't notice much of a change from what Dillon had already established, mainly Red Leader & Ross looked exactly the same. Uncanny X-Force gets pretty crazy with the Akaba, & Apocalypse lore that is now being used in Uncanny Avengers.
I thought we only had a week so I was kinda bummed you went one more when I made Aries walk away but seeing we still have time it's all good. I had a band rehearsal today and my back hurts like a bitch so if I don't fall asleep too soon I'll have one up.
I went to a convention with my Venom #1, at the time I thought it was awesome the writer from Uncanny X-Force was writing Venom, and the original artist from The Walking Dead was doing the art, he had a sign saying he was doing autograph sessions for the next hour, and denied every fan who walked up to his booth. Then at last years con he was scheduled to appear, and sent some woman with pre-signed comics to sell, which are worth nothing because you cannot prove it is in fact his autograph. The first year I even managed to have an actual conversation with Doug Bradley, who signed my Hellraiser DVD without charge.
Tony Moore is the biggest douche on the planet, I will never buy another book that his name is on so I have no idea about Deadpool. But I have been finding Cable & The X-Force, Scarlet Spider, & Uncanny Avengers(as you can probably tell I am a fan of Rick Remender) to be some of Marvels best books. I also prefer some consistency with my artists, a story can jump around from time to time, but if one panel looks better than the rest of the book I have issues.
The only book I have been reading with Noto doing the art is Uncanny X-Force, but since it was one of the books I elected to collect in graphic and only have the first 5 volumes, I have none with him. Although I honestly have no complaints with Dillons art in Thunderbolts.
Hey, just wanted to stop buy and say that once someone makes his character go to the back it almost all the time means the session is over. Now you have one over me and I think I wont have time to get one more up.
