After watching the WM21 recap thing first i was wondering why they were doing 21. Then when the MITB part came on they never showed any part involving Benoit. They did show Christian and Angle though. How long do you think the WWE will go leaving Benoit out of everything? I think they should forget about what he did to his family so that we can see great moments in wrestling.

When they were showing it all I looked for was any small sign of Benoit in the clips and didn't seem anything. If I'm not mistaken the way Edge won was by hitting Benoit with a chair making him fall off the ladder right. I'm gussing that was who it was since they didn't show that part. But really they need to just grow balls and show him mention him and all that.

On wwe.com with the records he is on there. You see Rey has the longest time in the rumble. Well it has Benoit has the second longest time in it. Also last year they had a best of magzine thing on wwe.com where they showed alot of there best ones and they had two with him on it. So maybe they will slowly move in to it and one day even show clips of him.

I doubt they will ever start talking about him at least until they go back to pg-13.. what he did is known by way to many people to be really anything for a kid who is <13 to be reminded about, WWE just wants to avoid idotic lawsuits on how some moms kid has killer like thoughts over his/her favorite wrestler IMO

I really feel as if they are slowly creeping towards mentioning him more. I think it was in the newest Eddie dvd they actually say his name a couple times, which is more acknowledgment for him than I have seen for a long time.

They should only mention him where they cant avoid it (Title histories). But showcasing and promoting a murderer would be immoral and plain stupid. Benot killed his family and his legacy.

Never... as they should. Sure the guy had some great matches but when it boils down to it he murdered his wife and son..then killed himself. Bad publicity...bad association. If rememberance was important to the guy he wouldn't have done what he did. Now he'll be forever remember for something completely different...wouldn't matter if the guy was a 25 time champ.

I disagree there. I know what he did was horrible, but denying what he did in the wrestling world is just Blue. He was one of the greatest technical wrestlers EVER and acting like he doesn't exist when he was a prominent part of the companies history is just dumb. I understand that they don't want to be seen as heartless or whatever, so using caution with what they do is fine. It's just, you now, if Bill Gates was part of 9-11, I doubt we'd all stop using PCs to avoid mentioning him.

^LMAO...that Bill Gates thing is so out of context it's not even funny. Actually it is funny.

I know, I think it's extreme as well. I'm just saying from a strictly BUSINESS standpoint it makes total sense. No matter how incredible of a wrestler the guy was it doesn't change the fact of what he did. That's not something you want hanging over a product that's marketed towards children. And to be brutally honest, he never did anything that incredible that hurts the business to omit.

If I remember correctly, and I certainly might not, but I thought I saw a very quick clip of him standing on top of the ladder. I recall doing a "WHOA! Haven't seen him in a long time!" thing during RAW. It may have been a different trailer, or I may be wrong.

I don't think that WWE is trying to act like Benoit doesn't exist per say, but avoid any awkwardness that may cause people to bring up touchy subjects. It may also have them thinking that if they are trying to sell to a younger audience that that should be kept on the down-low...for a lack of a better term.

I agree with this:

It;s the same as them never owning up to the fact that the Macho Man was the "Chris Jericho of the 1980's": An incredible entertainer, able to carry the company, but sometimes misused and buried for otHHHers. When's the last time you heard the name Macho Man Randy Savage in ANYTHING containing a WWE product? I can't even recall.

Both Benoit and Savage being forgotten is a shame

^^According to a legend, there's a good reason why Savage is ignored. Of course, there's no confirmation as to whether or not that happened.

By the way, we'll eventually see Benoit footage on tv. I doubt we'll ever see another Benoit DVD being released, but I could see him showing up in highlights of some matches.

If it isn't do or die, we won't see Benoit on WWE TV. And WWE has already said thay they will only show footage of Benoit when his role was too big to ignore or if excluding him would affect the footage itself.

A package showing the best of MITB doesn't need to show Benoit

As of right now...what...two years almost? since Benoit.... I really don't think it's hurting any of WWE's current affairs to not show the guy. Do we see Eddie Guerrero featured in many packages on TV? No. WHY? Because it's not signifcant or productive to whats happening now...as a business. Which is exactlly what wrestling is. Sure Benoit will always be remembered by wrestling fans, but showing the guy on TV really isn't going to do much for the business besides make casual wrestling fans uncomfortable and have parents explain to their kids that a guy who was a part of something they love so much murdered his wife and son.
Same with Macho Man....he holds no weight in the current state of wrestling...that and he's fucking out of his mind...lol

Besides, there's one thing.

The only footage I think would be worthy of showing and it's truly a shame we don't see it anymore is the closure of WM XX.

But do WWE really wants to show a moment that would make you feel all warm inside for a killer?

WWE don't need to show Benoit right now. Just like they don't need to show Angle, Christian, Owen, Pillman, Eddie, Savage and others.

Soon enough Benoit will creep his way back into the WWE, but I doubt we'll see anything Benoit-orientated for at least another 2 years.
