Also, isn't ECW getting ratings in the 1's? If so, then TNA is technically in the same ballpark.

Sure, but she is deliberately being misleading. She said WWE, implying that they were on par with all their shows, not just the red-headed stepchild.

shes a bitch for spoiling it. im glad that he is returning though. Its gonna be epic whenever he returns

Y'know, since no one else has said it...

She could be lying. There has been no confirmation who he signed with either way. All we have are assumptions.

Of course she is misleading--she's running a corporation.

Of course. But most corporation heads try and be intelligent about it. Y'know, not say shit that can be debunked by anyone with five minutes and a PC.

Well, it's TNA we're talking about here. We cannot hold her to the standard of, say, a competent human being.

LOl, just, LOL
They are nowhere near being competitive
They're not competitive? I could have swore that ECW and Impact do very comparable ratings, and the one night ECW and Impact went head to head, Impact kicked ECW's ass, nearly doubling ECW's audience.

I call that very competitive.

Sure, but she is deliberately being misleading
No, you are just reading to much into it. That's not misleading, because it's true. You want to compare Raw vs. Impact, and she's comparing ECW vs Impact.

It's not her fault you interpreted her statement wrong.

Again, hype machine or not, I am sure Spike TV has a bigger audience than MyNetwork TV or Sci Fi.

iMPACT is headlined by the likes as Kurt Angle. Sting, Booker T, Steiner, Joe, AJ, you keep going.

And she's proud that that roster is competitive with the show headlined by rookie Jack Swagger?

Competitive? You call that competive? TNA, just by their roster, should be getting ratings that rival SD, not lame ECW. They are not competitive, and even starting an argument that they are on the same ratings level is rather dumb, especially when you compare WWE's C show with TNA's premiere show

It's not her fault you interpreted her statement wrong

It's entirely her fault, as he clearly made the statement like that to mislead people. If she wanted to stick with the facts, she would have said TNA is being competitive with ECW

Excuse me? I didn't misinterpret anything. I know exactly what she was trying to do with her statement.

She wants her company to be seen on the same level as the WWE. So she deliberately puts out a vague statement that indicates that her company is on par with the WWE as a whole. Not that her company is in reality on par with their C level show.

Come on now, you're a smart guy when you choose to be, don't ruin it by being this dense. Anyone with half a brain could see that she is trying to inflate her company's reputation to higher levels than they actually deserve.

I doubt it has a much bigger audience.

iMPACT is headlined by the likes as Kurt Angle. Sting, Booker T, Steiner, Joe, AJ, you keep going.

With the exception of Sting, NONE of those guys have ever been a proven draw. Irrelevant point.

Competitive? You call that competive? TNA, just by their roster, should be getting ratings that rival SD, not lame ECW. They are not competitive, and even starting an argument that they are on the same ratings level is rather dumb, especially when you compare WWE's C show with TNA's premiere show
How is it dumb when it's true? Why should they rival SD? They don't have ANYONE that comes close to the draws Smackdown has, not to mention the fact that Smackdown is now over 10 years old as a TV show, and debuted during the hottest period of wrestling in the last 15 years.

No, it makes MUCH more sense to compare to ECW, when you compare all factors. And when compared to ECW, TNA is competitive in ratings.

It's entirely her fault, as he clearly made the statement like that to mislead people. If she wanted to stick with the facts, she would have said TNA is being competitive with ECW
So, ECW is not part of the WWE now?

Give up, you lose. Just because you want to read more into her statement than is actually there, doesn't change the fact she's right.

Excuse me? I didn't misinterpret anything. I know exactly what she was trying to do with her statement.
Sure you did. You think that she was trying to imply that TNA was on Raw's level...she never even said anything close to that. She just said ratings were comparable to WWE, and she was right.

She wants her company to be seen on the same level as the WWE. So she deliberately puts out a vague statement that indicates that her company is on par with the WWE as a whole. Not that her company is in reality on par with their C level show.

That's what you think. I don't really think so. And I'll tell you why.

In EVERY way, TNA is like ECW. They are a new show, who feature talent seen before with a great blend of talent not seen before. They receive approximately the same amount of advertising, and are expected to do approximately the same ratings. ECW, as people mentioned, is WWE's "C" show, but still probably receives more production focus and money than TNA Impact does, not to mention it is a traveling show, whereas Impact comes from Orlando.

YOU are trying to compare it to Raw, Dixie is not. And I would not either. Because Raw (and SD, for that matter) operate on a completely different level, on a number of different ways, not the least of which is life on TV and exposure through the mid-to-late 90s wrestling boom. So, when she says they are on the same level ratings wise as WWE, she is exactly correct. Just because people want to try and twist her meaning, doesn't change the fact that she is completely correct.

No, no. It's not "hype machine or not." It's "hype machine." There is no debate about the matter. Vince McMahon and the WWE label will outlast, outsell, and out perform any any other product in the wrestling industry. Even if TNA were putting on logical, decent television programming, they would not be able to beat the WWE; that's just the (un?)pleasant fact. At least, that's how it should be. The fact that TNA is competing with ANY part of the WWE is a tremendous feat. I don't know how they're doing it, but they should be commended for doing so.

Suprised she mentioned Cristian "jumping back" to WWE (rather than just confirming his departure).... I'd have left it to speculation... Afterall she's efffetively saying "Hey Christian fans, you need to start watching WWE".

Sure you did. You think that she was trying to imply that TNA was on Raw's level...she never even said anything close to that. She just said ratings were comparable to WWE, and she was right.

K, you and I are informed wrestling fans. We both know that she was referring to ECW, yes. However to the lay person or potential investors it comes across as her saying that her company is competitive with the WWE as a whole. Which is exactly what she was trying to do by disingenuous with her statement. Don't be so blind.

So what? None of this is relevant at all. Who cares if they're similar? That's not what she was trying to say at all.

YOU are trying to compare it to Raw, Dixie is not.

No, I am not. I am well aware that would be akin to comparing a Nova to a Ferrari.

Just because people want to try and twist her meaning, doesn't change the fact that she is completely correct.

I am interpreting her statement exactly as she wants it interpreted. As I said, don't be so damned stupid.
