2 Big WWE Releases

PWInsider.com is reporting that both Sgt. Slaughter and Ron Simmons, aka Farooq, have been released by WWE. More details on these two firings as they become available.

wow....I never expected either to be fired. I thought Sgt Slaughter had a job for life.

Simmons was an unnecessary expense. They may as well just cut to library footage of him saying "Damn", but yeah, I thought The Sarge was WWE for life.

I don't care about Ron Simmons because he's just always been a waste of precious tv-time but Sgt. Slaughter had a guaranteed lifetime contract. Whatever happened to that?

Well, it's too bad for them, because hey're legends, but really, they haven't been doing anything lately. I'm sure once the economy shapes out again, wwe will hire them both back.

The Slaughter news is a surprise to me. But with Simmons, I think that they could do a pay-per-segment/appearance angle or something with him. Only pay him when they use him. And I don't think he was "taking up tv time" He randomly pops up and says damn, and that's no more than 30 seconds that he's on. If you say that, you might as well say the same for Austin, all he does is show up Stunner people and drink beer.

Why would you want that. Henry is doing a great job as talent enhancement and Big Zeke is doing well also. The team of him and Kendrick is doing well. I could easily see him in the mid-card/upper mid-card in the future when they break up, depending on how his mic skills are. And Fetus needs to refresh his gimmic. But it's not bad enough to have them gone.

Which emphasizes why he should be fired. A guy who comes up and says one word, on our screens for 10 seconds, should be the first to be fired.
