yeah I gotta rep him there on that too

But why call the FU the Throwback, its not like anyone else has used Cena's move before... its HIS move, how is it a throwback? lol

^^^^That's two completely differtent people. Sure it's the same move, but the set-up is different guys finishers. I say good point with what MikeRaw said about the pedigree. And why not call Homicides Gringo Cutter the Diamond Cutter as well.

They should just give Cena a new finisher. Maybe one where he sits down with his opponent and explains that violence never solved anything, in a kid friendly manner of course.

The Pedigree was created because of Triple H's gimmick as the Conneticut Blueblood, should we change that?

Oh, and wordlife, why call bullshti? It was written by JR in his blog, and I doubt JR would lie.
The "Pedigree" doesn't contradict the WWE's new kid-friendly policy. The FU does, and it was the result of one joke from one feud. Triple H's was the result of an entire gimmick that he evolved from.

Who cares how the name was created. It's the fact you can have a move for YEARS and then just change the name and expect fans to take kindly.
I would hardly count you as a fan if you get so worked up over the name change of one move. Did you bitch when the "Lion Tamer" was changed to "The Walls of Jericho"? How about when Carlito's "Back Cracker" became the "Back Stabber" and then turned back into the "Back Cracker"?

Methinks this is just another reason for people to bitch about something related to John Cena.

Not worked up was just pointed out that what you said was very flawed. About the Line Tamer to Walls of Jericho I was not watching wrestling around that time if I remeber correctly so I could have cared less and about Carlito he is no where near the level Cena is therefore no cared about a minor change and the change also came from a gimmick change. If they had done this as a result of a Gimmick change well then maybe I would have been ok with it, but the way they did it was simply outrageous.

Lol, the vocal minority. Was that a shot, JR? Aww, that's so cute, we were burned by JR!

Anyway, I agree with what's been said above. The moves have been called so for years and they expect the sudden name change to be taken without a care? It's confusing for the casual fans and annoying as hell for those of us who are fans of the show but also aren't 5.

SIMPLY OUTRAGEOUS~!

OH EM GEE~!

Get over it.

The Lion Tamer to Walls of Jericho was a perfect example, and your lack of knowledge of wrestling history doesn't discount that. And guess what, buckwheat; Cena has gradually been undergoing a gimmick change for some time now. When is the last time he has rapped on Raw? When is the last time he rapped several weeks in a row? Cena is not the badass, "fuck you", chain gang soldier anymore. He's a fighting champion who's only goal is to be on top; he's been re-packaged as a babyface, not a badass face. Throwback? Yes, he is a throwback. He goes back before Steve Austin and the Rock (two "cool guy" faces) and taps into the Hulk Hogan and Sting superhero-underdog paradox.

And since you agree that a gimmick change is suitable, and Carlito was too low-card for you (despite the fact that the first name changed occurred about when he was in the main event Elimination Chamber in 2006), then how about The Rock? People's Elbow or Corporate Elbow? Or was that SIMPLY OUTRAGEOUS~ too?

I can't say I enjoy the name change to Throwback, but FU isn't a good name either, certainly not for Cena. I would hope they could come up with a better name.

Honestly the throwback was a moved used by Cena when he had his wigger gimmick, and once again were just supposed to forget that ever happened and start calling his main move a throwback. Ridiclous, I don't care so much about the childish view of changing it as much as I care about the way WWE always insults there fans intelligence
How is changing the name of a move insulting fans' intelligence?

I would think that NOT changing the name because fans might not remember it would be insulting their intelligence.

The Pedigree was created because of Triple H's gimmick as the Conneticut Blueblood, should we change that?
Didn't they change the Undertaker's submission finisher?

Why would the WWE change the finisher names of their numero uno business commodity whilst he holds a belt and is selling merchandise by the truckload? Dumb, dumb, dumb, dumb, dumb.
Yes, clearly the WWE doesn't know what they're doing with Cena...

Methinks this is just another reason for people to bitch about something related to John Cena.
Surely you are not suggesting that the IWC gets outraged anytime something regarding John Cena is brought up?

How about Undertaker? Didn't they change the name of the Gogaplata from "The Devil's Triangle" to "Hell's Gate"? Were you upset by that?

I'm saying that already existed in Cena's moveset and was not the FU, its ridiclous. Thats how there insulting our intelligence, by thinking they can use an already used name ona move that he hasnt had in years and expect us not to know what it used to be

I find it funny how you state that my reason is basically untrue and then ask a question using the reason I posted. If it's untrue then why would it matter what I had to say on the opinion. As for what you've stated if it's been a slow change of gimmick from the rapper Cena then giving a move called THE THROWBACK is pure retardation as it goes back to the whole rapper gimmick.

As for Sly the reason you posted why would I be upset by it. The fact is he brought the move in used it 3 or 4 times and then changed it. Had you read what I said earlier you would have seen the reason I was "mad" about the Cena move change is he's been using it for YEARS, not a few weeks. Huge diffrence IMO!

Again, you're assuming that the usage of "throwback" is to his rapper gimmick. It could easily be a reference to the superhero-babyface paradox that I mentioned earlier. That may be too difficult for you to understand, but at least acknowledge that you may simply be too stupid to understand it.

You are bitching over spilled milk. You have come with a bullshit argument and you are clearly too dense to understand that you are wrong on this issue. Don't give me your "IMO!" bullshit either. Opinions cannot be wrong, however they can be foolish. Yours is foolish.

So, when the WWE changed Kane from Isaac Yankem to Kane, they were insulting your intelligence there, too?

As for Sly the reason you posted why would I be upset by it. The fact is he brought the move in used it 3 or 4 times and then changed it. You're not being real specific, so allow me to ask for clarification.

You're upset because Cena has been using the FU for years, and now wants to change the name. And that's different from Undertaker, who only used the move for a few weeks before he changed the name.

Is that correct? If not, please clarify.

Kk well lets see if Cena had the Rapper gimmick for most of his upstart and he wore Jersey's that were clearly pointed out time and time again to be "Throwbacks" by announcers and even himself a few times. Then you go on to change his finisher name to "The Throwback" Are fans supposed to assume that it is a new thing completly having nothing to do with the Cena of old. I think not Axis and I'm pretty sure you have lost this argument. Therefore making you look like the "foolish" one.

Sly that is exactly what I'm saying it's no where near the same situation.
