I saw the trailer at their website http://belc.wwe.com/ and honestly, it isn't convincing enough to make me buy the movie. It comes straight on DVD on the 6th of January, Kennedy has been away from the ring for nearly a year or something now.

He won the Money in the Bank Ladder Match at WrestleMania 23 and was supposed to win the championship shortly afterwards but instead of that happening, he was out of action due to injuries which made WWE do something of that Money in the Bank briefcase as it was given to Edge who would eventually win the championship later on. Before this Kennedy on RAW was in line for a major Main Event push. He was supposed to be the son of Vince McMahon in the illegitimate child storyline, but sadly he screwed up and got himself suspended. :49:

Kennedy has the potential to be a successful Main Event superstar, WWE signed him for the movie project of Behind Enemy Lines sometime ago and the movie is a month away from coming to stores on dVD. It's definitely going to get him some recognition in the e-world. But is this movie going to be the breakthrough of his wrestling career as well? Will it help boost his popularity in the WWE? When the creative team decides to get him back on wwe programming, how will he return? How will he be used in the months to come?

Thoughts?

All the promoting of the movie during every single WWE broadcast is getting pretty annoying. I definately won't get the movie, but I understand all the advertising.

This won't do much for Kennedy's career imo, but it shows the WWE's faith.

As long as Kennedy doesn't get injured on set, then I'm indifferent to all this.

I haven't seen such a friendly face. His promos portray him as almost harmless - IE. I don't know how the fans will react to him back on the canvas again.

He got injured in what August. That is no where near a year.

Anyway I might rent the movie or something when it comes out to see if its any good. I'll be getting it on Blu-Ray so it better be awesome.

I really don't think it will help him at all.
No wwe movies have really helped guys get to the main event. WWE movies are good for taking a guy who is a main eventer, and making him into the top guy, but, I don't think a movie, much less a straight to dvd movie, can help make a guy a main eventer. It's a pretty small-time movie, straight to dvd and all.

Whether or not Kennedy becomes a main eventer will depend on how healthy he can stay when he comes back, and how much the fans get behind him, not the success of the movie.

I think wwe will try to really push him hard when he gets back, because he is in the movie, and they will try to make him a main eventer, but really, it's going to have to be up to him to work on his skills and promos to get the fans behind him, or else the push will stop. bein in the movie doesn't give you a free pass.

Oh, and Blaze, what c4 means is, he has been mostly inactive for the past year... Even though he has not been injured the whole time, he has only been active for a short amount of time in between injuries.
He has been out since August, and before that, was out several months from May-June or whatever it was, so throughout 2008, he has spent mroe time injured than heeled, and hasn't got any momentum going.

I actually believe that the promotions Kennedy is doing for his movie are a smaller part of the bigger picture. Allow me to explain. Kennedy needs to turn heel again. thats the only way he can re-capture his previous success. What I see happening is the following. After the movie comes out... Vicki Guerrero will approach Kennedy and say...

Guerrero: Gee Ken. You did such a good job promoting your movie. Such a good job in fact that I'm going to hire you as are Official SmackDown Spokesman.

Kennedy: But Vicki...I'm a wrestler..not a spokesman. When can I compete?

Guerrero: I'm not convinced that you're 100% to return to the ring. Trust me. This will work out perfectly

So in essence Mr Kennedy will be relegated to a cheesy salesmens role. Pimping everything from the next pay-per-view to Just For Men Hair Care products. This would be a good way for WWE to charge more for advertisements because they are doing live ad spots which are being endorsed by a WWE Superstars. So this goes on for a while untill one night it all comes to head. Mr. Kennedy is seen in a room nearly buried by all of the boxes of free samples.

Guerrero: Mr. Kennedy...I have one more box for you

Kennedy: ONE MORE B...Seriously??

Guerrero: Well you dont need to get mad about it.

Kennedy: AAAGGGHHH!!! THATS IT!! (Sinister laugh) NO MORE BOXES!...NO MORE PRODUCTS! NO MORE BULLSH*T!!!

So Mr. Kennedy will demand to be put in a match and Vicki will refuse and so Kennedy does a series of run-ins forcing the GM into an ultimatum.. where he has to be reinstated. In all seriousness though I really believe needs to be a strong heel or elses he's just wasting his time in the WWE
