Is anyone else going to try to be a wrestler? I'm honestly surprised I haven't seen this thread before.

If you are, throw out some wrestling schools and stuff that's interesting.

Storm Wrestling Academy looks pretty good to me. I need to get to Canada though. >_>

I'm gonan go ahead and say no, seeing as Im, you know, not delusional
But really, good luck to anyone who is, but I'm not even gonna attempt anything to do with wrestling, although I used to want to.
Normal job for me.

I imagine there will be quite a few who will say yeah they'll do it. But in reality baybe one or two will actually make the attempt.

Personally speaking though, I would never even want to try and I think anyone who does try has a few loose screws.

I will admit to thinking about it before, when I was younger. Hell, me and my friend used to have matches in his basement (bad, bad idea). I got turned off of the idea one time while we were practicing at our dojo (we used to take karate) and we were sparring and I said "hold my foot, I'm going to try an enziguri". So, he held my foot and I leapt to do an enziguri. Luckily, I didn't hit him, put that also meant that I kept spinning and I ended up tweaking my ankle a bit.

Same as you Jamesy. I've wanted to for a while, and Storm Wrestling Academy is the ideal school for me too (Fuck Australia, no half decent schools =/). Getting to Canada is the real problem >_>

I probably have a few screws loose.

Seen as how I've worn my parents down to the point where they are actually agreeing that I should be trained, I think it's something that I'm going to follow through with. :D

Well, I wish you the best of luck, but do not forget that number one, two years is anwfully long time away before you can legally train. And even more importantly have a fall back plan.

And by fall back plan, I don't mean enrolling in some garbage communications major at university like every other lazy fucker. Actually make sure that if you fail at wrestling (and again, be pragmatic with yourself. Your odds are very poor) you will have an opportunity to get a good job.

The backup plan is journalism. I'm generally good in English, and my teacher says that with my writing, being a journalist is something that I can acheive.

Journalism is good.

Also, its too bad about you having to wait for wrestling school. Right now Calgary and the rest of Alberta is in the middle of a huge boom period. Even fast food jobs are paying well over $10 an hour. So many people moving there just to get the same job but make almost twice as much.

Thanks for letting me know on what life could be like if I were two years older. :(

I'm sure that in two years jobs in Calgary will pay four times as much as everywhere else. :shifty:

In 4 years I'm sure it will be at least 9 times as much. :D

I plan to basically just try it for a year, if I fail miserably, I'll go onto another job, something in the way of teaching or perhaps Journalism like James.

I want to try but only after I start going to college. I plan on going to college to be a nurse. Yes I said it nurse. Eat it hoes. And while doing that I'll attend a school if and only if I have the money. The one my friend and I are looking at is ran by Truth Martini and looks pretty good.

I thought about the RoH school as well, but then again that's the US, and they don't have free healthcare or something like that. Injury=You're fucked.

But Storm's school is $4000 Canadian, which is like $4500 Aussie. Hopefully Shawn Michaels re-opens his old school by the time I'm done. :D

Y'know, just because you move here doesn't mean you get free health care, right?

Most schools I've seen that are worth their salt have run between the $3500-$5000 area for training.

You should probably ignore that part of my post anyway, I have no idea what I'm talking about >_>

I've never really looked up many schools, since I have my heart set on Storms/RoH. If I'm gonna do it may as well get the best start.
