It should have been over at Wrestlemania 21. Orton should have been the guy.

On a more recent note, the streak should end and it should be an up and comer that does it. But not just any current midcarder with potential. It should be a young main eventer who can go from main eventer to mega star. It should also be a clean win, no DQ bullshit.

The streak is bullshit anyway. No one should go that many Wrestlemania's without losing. Especially Taker. Its not like a loss would hurt his credibility.

Well it's one loss, think of it in the grand scheme of things. Most guys who are considered Wrestlemania Legends have hardly ever won, and 16-1 isn't a horrible record imo.

But I get what CenaMark said. Somebody like CM Punk who could just obliterate the glass ceiling and become a bonified Main Event star if they won. If anyone should've done it, it should've been Orton without a doubt though.

As much as i want to agree with that, I didn't think it was the right time for Orton to win. Randy Orton was still pretty young at that point in his career, and even though you knew he would be a star, he didn't need to beat the Undertaker in order to cement his legacy. In fact, now anyone who faces the undertaker, kinda is in the middle of a push. I would have liked to see a MVP/Taker fued last year going into Mania. I think MVP was near the stage, Orton was at that point in time. MVP much like Orton could lose the match, but yet come out better than before the match, just by given taker a run for his money.

I dont think taker's streak is going to end, and out of ALL the young guys, i must admit Ted Diabiase is a pretty damn good pick. However, im not so sure how well it could be booked. Thats my biggest problem with Takers streak. You need the "next" undertaker to be THE undertaker. You need another Phenom to take his spot. No one currently can do that. So i really don't see his streak ending.

well If anyone wins it has to be someone really worthwhile there is no turning back on it later on like a title change you don't want someone to be a champion so he looses it th enext day like nothing happened this is written down in history and it has to be really thought through because if anyone wins it means he is better than the other 16 people that lossed and that IS SAYING SOMETHING. IE he should retire with it in tact its just too big of a push for any superstar to do it and plus if it was Dibiase there would be no chance in hell for him EVER to be turning face because people would never forgive him for it no matter what even if he slapped the biggest heel in the face!

I disagree. Wrestling fans are the brightest for the most part. I think a good example is the rock. Remember the "Die, Rocky, Die" chants. He did some low stuff, and yet the fans loved him when turning face. I think its all about how its booked. Certainly it would have a be at least a few years down the line.

On a side note, I don't think Ted Diabiase Sr. has ever played a face in the wwe.

The fact of the matter is, no matter how good a heel you are, fans will eventually cheer you.

And what Montana said is right, The Rock was an uber heel, and he got 'Rocky' chants in his promos. And HBK screwed Bret Hart, that's the lowest of the low, and he's one of the most popular guys on the roster

HBK isn't seen as responsible of the screwjob. People blame it on Vince, and you don't see him getting cheered.

I really don't see Ted DiBiase being cheered if he ends the career of Taker. If he does, it would have to be years in the future and in a perfectly booked scenario. Only smarks would cheer for him :shifty:

Then again, and to comment to another post, in Montreal they don't forgive HBK what he did...11 years later

My two cents are and always have been that Orton should have beaten him.

Like someone earlier mentioned, I think only THE next Phenom could, and should, defeat The Undertaker. They need to build a character so asbolutely similiar, or close, to The Undertaker, a young gun at that, and have him roll the proverbial ball. It will not be believable if someone like DiBiase Jr. defeats him, because in the grand scheme of things, if Triple H, Ric Flair, Batista, Kane, and hell, even Mark Henry couldn't defeat The Undertaker, in kayfabe, DiBiase Jr. would be a BAD choice.

Undertaker shouldn't get beaten, plain and simple. If he gets beaten then we'll all know him as the Deadman that went 18-1, having one loss against him will just ruin his prestigue.
