Ok, I've gotten a couple PMs now asking where the HBK injury threads went to. This morning when I logged on, there were two, so I closed one and later when I came on in the afternoon, both had been closed, but I didn't feel like reopening one atm, but now when I come back on to do so, they aren't anywhere to be found, so forget it. This is now the thread for any news or discussion regarding the injury to Shawn Michaels.

News reports have been saying he'll miss around 6 months after surgery or whatnot, but I just found this:

Gerweck said:
As we reported last night, Shawn Michaels suffered a torn triceps muscle working an angle with Chris Jericho and Lance Cade at the Raw and Smackdown television tapings in St. Louis, MO. The word last night is that, despite the injury, Michaels still intends to work against Y2J at Sunday's Unforgiven PPV in Cleveland, OH. Typically speaking, torn triceps require surgery and requires about six months time to recover.

I marked.

I also saw some news on WWE.com just a few minutes ago saying that he VOWED to meet Jericho in the match.

:y:

Yea I wouldn't worry that much. If it was that bad I doubt they would clear him to wrestle. I hope.

At least he is cleared to wrestle, the bad news is he'll be gone for a while after this feud is over. Hopefully Shawn comes out of this match without any further injury

Well, he is one tough dude. But, I think we all know who is going to win now don't we? I still expect it to be great though.

Just because he'll wrestle doesn't mean it will be a good match. Or have you people already forgotten about Rey Mysterio vs Edge NWO 08?

Whilst I'm eager to see their match, I REALLY hope we don't get a below par HBK performance... It'll be such a downer after such a great fued.

Alternative suggestion: Cancel/swerve on their match, send HBK for surgery now, have Y2J win the belt in the meantime (SSeries?) and then have HBK return in time to beat Y2J for the belt @ WM... I know there's the "Shawn doesn't want the belt" talk and other prospective title ME's such as Cena/Batista II, but this is one way that they could tide the fued over rather than wasting all their amazing ground-work. Plus, the fans would lap that shit up (And he could retire off of that angel if he wished as it would make sense him retiring as champ seeing he was on the verge of retiring at SSlam).

An aside: To be honest, I think in an ironic way it's kinda 'selfish' of Shawn not wanting a world title run... I think the fans would love it!

The match is happening the problem I want to know is if this will be the last match we see between Jericho and HBK or maybe end this around RR or Mania with an I quit or something along the lines of that with HBK returning and screwing Jericho over in the middle of the RR or something... distracting him as he gets elminated ?

This is not good. Just another major superstar injured. Well at least Y2J will go over and then he will be ready to win the title from Punk.

- While it has not been made official, the word going around is that Michaels suffered a minor tear of his triceps and will not need surgery. The match Sunday appears to be a go and Michaels may not even need any time off. Tremendously good news for all involved.

From WWE.com

After a comprehensive examination, it has been determined that Shawn Michaels suffered a small tear on his left triceps during a confrontation with Chris Jericho, but is medically cleared to wrestle.

"Before the MRI," Michaels told WWE.com, "my doctor was 99.9 percent sure that I had a full tear of my triceps and that I would experience bruising, swelling and a loss of my range of motion. Through the power of prayer, none of those things happened and I am ready for Unforgiven."

Michaels' Unsanctioned Match with Jericho at Sunday's pay-per-view is as personal as any contest in sports-entertainment history. After Jericho struck HBK's wife during Michaels' retirement announcement at SummerSlam due to an eye injury suffered at Jericho's hands, The Showstopper has had his mind and heart set on revenge.

"Regardless of what the MRI revealed, I made it clear that I was going forward with this match," he said.

At the conclusion of Raw this week, after signing a contract for the pay-per-view match and fending off a surprise attack by Lance Cade, WWE fans at the Scottrade Center in St. Louis saw Michaels favoring his left elbow, which he appeared to injure. Immediate medical examination revealed a damaged left triceps.

What effect will this injury have on Shawn Michaels' attempt at retribution against Chris Jericho this Sunday

atleast its not a full tear...
