My issue is that the name Grand Slam is a tennis reference so if they move that shit to a basketball stadium, I'll be a bit perturbed
yeah Arthur Ashe is a bit busy in August with the US Open. With a new venue grand slam could move dates easier too, I think Arthur Ashe has a smaller window of availability (but this is June so maybe not lol)
Well Weekend PPVs are MUCH easier for me to go to than a Wednesday TV....

Smaller venue for Grand Slam makes me wonder where. Grand Slam is a moniker used for Tennis or for Baseball. So if they aren't running the Tennis venue and there's no baseball venue, the Grand Slam moniker doesn't fit. I always thought Grand Slam should be the PPV and they should say fuck it and rent out Citi Field (where the Mets play for y'all non baseball people)
for me it at least has to be outside or its not the sameI completely forgot grand slam is also a baseball term bc I was thinking about this too lol but about which tennis stadium they'd go to instead.
I hope they don't do this, but they could probably just keep the grand slam name but it not be in baseball or tennis just bc it's happened a few years now and you can just say it's the Dynamite episode name and people forget there used to be logic behind it. Again, I would hate that tho
it's a tennis reference because it's in a tennis stadium, but grand slam is used in like a bunch of sports and even wrestling tbf - do agree it would lose some of theme tho but it can be rebranded to something else im sureMy issue is that the name Grand Slam is a tennis reference so if they move that shit to a basketball stadium, I'll be a bit perturbed
They could go to a smaller stadium at the Billie Jean King Tennis Center (Same complex with Arthur Ashe Stadium). They have one (Louis Armstrong Stadium) that holds 14K for tennis. But that's like saying we can't sell out the big building so we'll go to the small building next door.I completely forgot grand slam is also a baseball term bc I was thinking about this too lol but about which tennis stadium they'd go to instead.

And then a drag show afterwardsjust have it somewhere else in Queens, make it a predominantly women's show with also a Eddie Kingston match, and call it Queen's Gambit or Queen's Road
If they ever did a joint show with like all Japan or something Queens Road would probably make more sense, but since their thing is with New Japan, probably best not to.just have it somewhere else in Queens, make it a predominantly women's show with also a Eddie Kingston match, and call it Queen's Gambit or Queen's Road
hell yeah then theyll get a bunch of angry fox coverage. prob do klller ratingsAnd then a drag show afterwards

I’m obviously not super knowledgeable about Japan but with Stardom being owned by Bushi Rd aren’t they also strong style or do they also incorporate Kings Road? It's been my backpocket name for a Stardom AEW show ngl for a while now
