Man, I also feel for Jade. She just got her break as the new TNA announcer for the TNA revival and a couple weeks later her husband basically got locked into his contract most likely against his will.
She’s been in recents chats with me and Blaze.sky flips MLW

it is indeed rare but I believe, for example, that a few AEW talent have had the option both exercised ( Brian Cage iirc, few others) and then in other cases not exercises (Cody, for example, could have been optioned to stay an extra year)In sports, contracts are written with a team option or a player option to re-up for one more year. And when the team holds the option, the player doesn’t really have any say so.
I don’t recall too many instances of this in wrestling outside of guys missing time due to injury. But this isn’t a case of that. I’m sure Josh would have loved to have tested the market and see how much money he could’ve made.
I hope he has a kick ass year so this time next year everyone will have to back the money truck to him
it's certainly a lookOh these extended year options definitely exist but it’s just a bad time to use it when the talent specifically told you he didn’t want to use it when you already have a lot of bad press about you.
I forgot it happened to Cage a few years back. iirc him and his wife weren’t exactly happy either.it is indeed rare but I believe, for example, that a few AEW talent have had the option both exercised ( Brian Cage iirc, few others) and then in other cases not exercises (Cody, for example, could have been optioned to stay an extra year)
to be fair, was only his wife vocally bitching onlineI forgot it happened to Cage a few years back. iirc him and his wife weren’t exactly happy either.
Because by them picking up that 3rd year option, it locks Josh into whatever money is initially agreed upon. He might not have even wanted to leave but wanted to renegotiate dollars
