Backstage Update On The Authors Of Pain and When They Will Return To WWE TV

An update on the Authors of Pain (Akam & Rezar).

According to Fightful Select, the former tag champions are expected back on television soon. The report states that the duo is going to be working the SmackDown brand going forward.

AoP was actually re-signed over a year and a half ago, and started appearing at the WWE Performance Center in the summer of 2022. Obviously, creative plans for them had not been made during that time. The legendary Paul Ellering is going to join them as well.
Will be nice to see Ellering back with them aswell

I'd be a lot more skeptical they were even signed if the same thing didn't happen to Davey Smith Jr too. But it kinda makes sense when you look at the tag division, Indus Sher is a similar type of team, big power guys and such with someone to talk for them, and they can never find their way out of the catering maze either

Indus Sher is so weird. They look great in the suits but when they switch to that ring gear, they look all kinds of jabroni.

Paul Ellering was spotted in Vancouver this morning. The expectation is that he and The Authors of Pain will return to WWE on tonight's Smackdown as part of an alliance with Karrion Kross and Scarlett. - PWInsider

I'd say WWE has a bunch of big-man tag teams though, I don't think Indus Sher are the only ones. We also have the Erik & Ivar, and even Alpha Academy has a "big man" dynamic to it.

Still though, more hoss tag matches please.

I'm especially curious to see what kind of badass theme song they prepared for them given how heavy their last one was.

neck surgery. Lucky to be back by Summerslam I'd think.

Smackdown doesn't have any hoss teams that I can think of, so it's a real good fit for them.

– Despite reports to the contrary, Paul Ellering is fully intending to go on the road with WWE as part of The Final Testament faction that features his tag-team, the Authors of Pain, joining forces with Karrion Kross and Scarlett. During his past run with the company, there was speculation that he told WWE he did not want to go on the road, however that was never the case.
