Batista discussed his eventual retirement and life after wrestling in an interview with Slam Wrestling. "I hope to always have a job within WWE," he said. "I'm thinking about hanging up my boots in the next couple of years. I'm almost 40; I turn 39 this year, so I hope there's going to be a spot for me within the company."

"I'd really love to be in the developmental program working with some of the younger kids. It really makes me sad. I think a lot of the art form of wrestling has been lost. Nowadays, it's about these guys that want to do these fancy spots. Ric Flair always said to me our business is selling, what we do is sell and we tell stories. And that's what I feel is the art form of wrestling and I really feel that's been lost."

Thats not exactly "soon" is it? A couple of years? That could be as many as 5, or as low as 2-3... But I wouldnt say soon. Anyways, he'll definately be missed when he does hang em up, but hes got some time left.

What the hell? Who doesn't like crazy spots? lol. I kind of feel bad for Batista, he finally got his big break in the business but he was a little too late. I am not a Batista fan, but I will say that he did have a good career and I'm sure he will be missed by his fans once he retires

^^^HHH is 37. And ya, Batista debuted ultra late because WCW turned him down when he wanted to start in 99, so as a esult, he didnt start til 2001/2002

^ He actually started in 2003, being the body guard for Reverend Devon, but he was only really noticed in late 04 when Evolution rerouted him..by the way with the talk of him being older than HHH, how old is HBK ?

Yeah, because he just appeared on WWE out of nowhere. There were years in developmental time before that, and time before being signed with WWE

He started in 2002 DX316... he was in developmental before that, but he debuted on smackdown in 2002.

I don't think he'll miss out on anything in a few years. He's done more in 6 years then most guys do in their entire careers.

^Agreed. Hews definately going to be a HOFer... One of the most over guys ever, and like 5 world title reigns, and Im guessing anywhere from 3-5 more.

Batista debuted in June 2002 when the Dudleys were broken up by the draft, they reunited in Nov 2002, Batista had nowhere to go...Evolution recruited him in December, left in Feb 2005.
