I Agree with you. Randys win was very big and NO ONE thought he would win. i wish the match would have been a little long but still.

If you watched the past Raw's it was actually painfully obvious that Randy was going to win or at least get cheated out of his title.

Booking wise, He was always forgotten and undervalued by Triple H and Cena and he never got his chance to disprove those assumptions by the two. Meaning he's going to disprove it at Wrestlemania. Honestly it's nuff said. WWE uses formula booking since day one and to me anyway it was obvious.

There is a big difference between WW booking logic and what happened to Orton. Edge got the upper hand on Taker a lot. He beat him week 2 into the build up, gave him a con-chair-to at week 4 and avoided him every step of the way, for the most part. Orton, was absolutely shit upon. He was made to look insignificant, which generally, you arent should do, especially to your god damn champion, but it worked. EVERYONE, and I mean EVERYONE was surprised. I didnt see you anywhere predicting an Orton win and, as you know, hindsight is 20/20. :hoover:

The only one who predicted an Orton win was soulpower.

A lot of us thought he should win, but didn't think he would.

Now what we need is Hogan to come back at Summerslam and job to Orton and everything will be right with the world.

Yeah Orton went over huge won a triple threat match, gave Cena his first WM loss, and appears to have the belt for a long time.

However I think Triple H winning and retaining during WM16 was bigger.

I forgot about that one. BUT that years main event should have a asterix need to it. We all know if Austin was healthy he would have been in the main event and won. HHH won due to process of elimination.

As soon as you typed that, Hogan's knee started to act up... True story.

No doubt it was a huge win for Orton, and it’s something he needed to make this WWE Championship reign not a complete bust (like his World Heavyweight Championship reign in 2004 was) and in a way it legitimizes him as a true main event star. I thought, along with everyone else he was going to drop the belt to Triple H or John Cena but when I seen he retained I was shocked as hell. You got to give the Fed credit on keeping that a secret and not letting it get out.

Also Orton’s not the first heel WWE Champion to retain at Wrestlemania, Triple H did it in 2000 at Wrestlemania 16 in that Fatal-Four Way Elimination match featuring The Rock, Big Show and Mick Foley.

Those situations were different in my opinion. I already explained why i thought this situation was unique. HHH was the favorite in both of those matches (16,19), and really his competition wasn't that worthy at the time.

Hmmm i never really thought about this but EVERY time HHH had a decent opponent hhh lost. He lost to Warrior, Taker, Kane, HBK + Beniot, Cena, Batista, Orton,

He beat goldust, owen hart, foley + Rock+ Big Show, Jericho, Booker T,

Those are decent opponents? I think you messed up there a bit.

I still think that Orton will loose his title to CM Punk when he cashes it in, in a few months. No matter how much I hate this idea I just see it coming.

orton's triple threat match was the weakest on the wrestlemania card.cena usually kicked out of 2 pedigrees but this time it only took one to knock him out cold.It made the match look weak but i rather see orton as champ than cena.

at Backlash Orton has an even bigger challenge! if he beats hhh and cena again along with JBL, Orton is a legend in my book.!
