White Sox deal Carlos Quentin to Padres

SAN DIEGO -- Four years after trading Carlos Quentin from Arizona to the Chicago White Sox, new Padres general manager Josh Byrnes is bringing the All-Star outfielder back west, and home to San Diego.

Byrnes made his second bold move in two weeks when he acquired Quentin from the White Sox for two prospects Saturday.

"It's exciting. First of all with the trade happening this morning, your whole life has been shifted," Quentin said. "It will take time to set in but it's exciting ...

Doubt he will vastly improve the Padres offense give his own K rate, but at least the Padres have someone to anchor the middle of the order for a season.

lol @ Fielder not getting signed anywhere yet. He's not going to get Pujos money and it looks like the Nationals are the only team that wants him. Still think he should of took a one year deal with the Brewers and make his money grab next year, when he would of been top dog.

He will still get paid, he's just not going to get what he wants. Some team (Nationals, Jays, Orioles) will through good Money at him. Most likely washington but Baltimore is dumb enough to do it (meaning way more holes than that). Actually like Toronto as an option, but it's not likely.

Whatever team Prince goes to will definitely get an upgrade from their current first baseman. I think he will end up with either the Nationals or the Cubs. The Brew crew would be the best place for him but I don't think they can afford him now which is sad because he is one of the premier stars in Milwaukee.

Source: Jesus Montero dealt to Mariners

The New York Yankees have traded top prospect Jesus Montero and right-handed pitcher Hector Noesi to the Seattle Mariners in exchange for phenom pitcher Michael Pineda and righty Jose Campos, a source told ESPN.com's Jayson Stark.

The Yankees receive the 22-year-old Pineda after he went 9-10 with a 3.74 ERA for the Mariners as a rookie last year.

After an up-and-down year in Triple-A, Montero came up to the majors and showed off his electric bat. In 18 games, he hit .328 with ...

The additions of Pineda and Kuroda have given the Yankees a strikingly deep rotation with six legitimate starters and Burnett.

Also read that the Yankees/Angels are talking about a Trumbo/Robertson trade.

That would be horrible for the Yanks and masterful for the Angles. Trumbo has little value and is overrated because he hits homers, does very little else, Robertson is one of the 5 best set up men in baseball, that would be a rape.
