I guess I'm the only one watching movies around here but what the hell, why bother worrying? I just got back from The Lone Ranger and it was awesome, way better than Man of Steel and Iron Man 3 and just a touch below Star Trek Into Darkness for the summer blockbusters. I enjoyed pretty much everything about it and its a shame we're probably not going to get a sequel due to its lack of box office. Anyhow, I guess all that's left for the big blockbusters is Pacific Rim, which I've already got a ticket for, so we'll see how that one pans out shortly.

So ot has the Fuji seal of approval then. must see it then. I took my daughter to see Despicable me 2 last week. decent flick. loved the minionsore than anything else. they cracked me up.

My only concern about Lone Ranger is that it seems to focus more on Depp then Hammer

I was concernedwith that but some of the things I have read says other wise and that Hammer could of used this role as a nice break out but the story wasn't there for him to do so.

Ended up seeing "Now You See Me" this past week, great film but hated the ending.

Also checked out Hotel Transylvania & The Campaign. The first is actually pretty good, the other is so-so.

Saw "The World's End" yesterday, second favourite film of the year so far. Loved it, the usual great comedy from Wright, Pegg & Frost, but no slacking in the character department either.

Whoa whoa whoa, new Pegg and Frost movie and it's directed by Edgar Wright? How is this the first time I'm hearing of this? Need to see now.

Looks cool, and the 3D trailer I saw looked stunning. But I can't see myself watching it until DVD. I imagine other films will be picked over it when it comes down to a choice.

Well I ended up seeing this last night.

First time I've left the cinema happy that I paid for 3D. As a spectacle it's fantastic and exactly what you're looking for in a summer blockbuster.

Fantastic film, saw it last week. Has some hilarious moments in it.

Simon Pegg is exceptional in it.

LB did you see the trailer for the Alan Partridge movie?

I'm a massive fan of Partridge so I will certainly be going to watch that.

I'm not a big fan of the character, but judging by the trailer, it looks a lot better than most TV-to-movie jumps. He's had a bit of a resurgence recently so I wouldn't be surprised if this ends up being a decent effort.
