With the invention of Social Network websites such as; Facebook, Myspace, Twitter, etc... People post status updates on what they are currently doing or what somebody might have on their mind they wish to share with everybody that has befriended them or is currently following them. Now, I know that I have a lot of friends that read somebody's status update and immediately assume that they are being talked about in somebody's status update or being thought about. Now, I will admit that I've done this a few dozen times before in the past and still occasionally find myself doing this and this usually occurs when I've read somebody's update and thought: "Oh, that sounds like they are talking about me? No, I am sure that they aren't talking about me but rather somebody else". So, I guess you could say that I am a little narcissistic when it comes to reading some status updates from other people I know. An I will admit that I've done the same exact thing to some of my friends, when I am talking about them but, not calling them out directly. Minding you whether or not they've figured out that I am secretly talking about them without others having much of a clue. So, this leads me to my question that have been on my mind for a little while now.

"Have you ever thought somebody's status update was talking about you?"

I am quite proud to say that I don't have a Facebook, Myspace, Twitter page or anything like that. I personally don't see much point in them and would only consider it if I moved overseas to keep in touch with family and friends.

I can see why some people would think that way though. People naturally like to think that people talk about them and if something is ambiguous then they will try to see how it relates to them rather than thinking that it must be about someone else.
