Here’s my idea. Make him lose and lose and lose. Eventually have him lose cleanly to someone like Baron Corbin at a big PPV like summer slam. Then something in him just snaps. He becomes the feral dog. He goes around leaving destruction in his wake to both heels and faces. He attacks people both fair and dirty. He does whatever it takes to win regardless of the consequences. He wins through pinfall and takes some L’s via DQ. He forces his way into a title match through underhanded tactics. Then you have him win to a chorus of boos. Except it’s half boos because of reigns and half boos because of his character. Except he doesn’t try to rectify the boos but instead he thrives on them. The boos feed his fire until he eventually starts evening them out with some cheers. At first he rejects the cheers lambasting the fans for cheering him now when they could have been for the past couple years. Now he just wins and wins. Anybody who stands in his path gets obliterated. The mixed reaction just makes him more and more wild until he goes through a change of heart. He finally accepts all the people who doubted him all along. He becomes the people’s champion and starts calling out the ridiculousness of WWE.
Him and the “Authority” clash until he prevails and finally preforms his final turn back into a face.
