Josh Neer vs. Mike Pyle added to June's UFC on FX 3 event
A welterweight matchup between Josh Neer (33-10-1 MMA, 6-6 UFC) and Mike Pyle (22-8-1 MMA, 5-3 UFC) is the latest addition to June's UFC on FX 3 event.
Pyle recently revealed the booking in an interview with Las Vegas' Fight Church, and MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) has since confirmed that verbal agreements are in place for the matchup.
UFC on FX 3 takes place June 8. While the main card airs on FX, officials haven't finalized a venue for the event.
Pyle returns to action for the first time since scoring an 82-second win over Ricardo Funch at January's UFC 142 event. The victory brought Pyle to 4-1 in his past five fights, with the lone loss coming to top prospect Rory MacDonald. During that run, Pyle secured wins over Ricardo Almeida, John Hathaway and Jesse Lennox.
Meanwhile, Neer boasts an overall six-fight win streak that includes back-to-back UFC victories over Duane Ludwig and Keith Wisniewski. The 28-year-old is currently embarked on his fourth stint in the UFC, and the two recent wins leveled his octagon record at 6-6. "The Dentist," who first fought for the UFC in 2005, is now 8-1 in his past nine fights.
With the addition to the card, the UFC on FX 3 lineup now includes:
