WWF Backlash (2002) Watch Along Thread

The time has come for us to witness the first PPV of the Brand Extension Era! With the entire face of the World Wrestling Federation changed drastically this last month, no one quite knows what to expect from this show. The SmackDown side plays host to the main event as best they can as the non-branded Undisputed WWF Champion, Triple H defends his title against SmackDown's Hulk Hogan. Can the Immortal one prove that he is, in fact, immortal by capturing his first WWF Championship in 9 years? Still on the SmackDown side we have two former friends facing off in Kurt Angle vs Edge in what could very well be the match of the night. Also announced for the SmackDown side is Billy Kidman defending his Cruiserweight Championship against Tajiri.

Over on the Raw side, the marquee match-up is Stone Cold Steve Austin vs The Undertaker to decide the new #1 contender to the Undisputed WWF Champion. These two have been at each other's throats since the draft and because of this, Raw owner Ric Flair has made himself the special referee for their match. The Raw side also features Rob Van Dam defending his Intercontinental Championship against the returning Eddie Guerrero plus Brock Lesnar will make his in-ring debut! Catch all this and more this Saturday at 6:30 p.m. EST!
