On tonight's NXT, general manager William Regal announced that WWE will air a program live from Japan on July 4th. He also confirmed that a huge NXT Title match featuring champion Kevin Owens taking on challenger Finn Balor would be on the show. The show airs on a Saturday, which is a bit different for WWE Network specials.

It's unknown if WWE plans on airing the entire event, or if it will just be the championship match. As we noted last week, Brock Lesnar is set to return at the event, and is currently booked to face Kofi Kingston.

Oh, that's pretty sweet! I hope they decide to air the entire event.
But if they don't, them airing just KO vs Bálor and Lesnar vs Kofi would be enough.

RIP Kofi Kingston.

Seems funny to air something on the 4th of July, and not be in America.

The reason Brock is being fed Kofi Kingston isn't just because Kofi can take a few bumps when he's being tossed around the ring like a rag doll, but so that Brock can look bad-ass whooping three different asses at once... Because you just know The New Day are gonna try and jump Brock in a 3-on-1 gang attack before the match starts and get dismantled as a result. Looking forward to seeing that one fail spectacularly.

An update:
- Dave Meltzer noted on last night's Wrestling Observer Radio that the WWE's July 4 show from Japan will either be aired on the WWE Network on a slight delay or won't show the full event. The show is set to start at 5:00 AM eastern, while the broadcast starts at 6:30 AM eastern.

I've said it before... They don't have to broadcast the entire event, although it would be nice. But, broadcasting KO vs Bálor and Lesnar vs Kofi would suffice.

Update On If Big WWE Event In Japan Will Air In Its Entirety

There was some confusion as to whether the WWE live event from Tokyo, Japan on July 4th would air in its entirety, and whether it would be live. Joey Styles confirmed on Twitter that the event will be broadcast live in its entirety, and will be available on demand immediately afterward.

The event is scheduled to start at 6:00 pm in Japan, which is 5:00 am ET.

Below is the current card:

WWE NXT Title Match
Finn Balor vs. Kevin Owens

WWE Divas Title Match
Paige vs. Naomi vs. Nikki Bella

Brock Lesnar vs. Kofi Kingston

Chris Jericho vs. Neville

John Cena and Dolph Ziggler vs. Kane and King Barrett

The Lucha Dragons vs. Los Matadores

Soo, Bálor is pretty much all but confirmed to take the NXT title at this event. He'll be a good transitional champion for Tyler.

Agreed.
There's pretty much no one I can think of (well, no one I'd like to see more, let's put it that way) to be the one to take the title away from Bálor.
Joe could become the NXT champ, I guess.
Aaand... There's Corbin, but, fuck that guy.

So, Cesaro vs Diego is the only new match added to the card, I think everything else was revealed a week ago.

That Kane tag match sounds terrible, hopefully it doesn't go last. Cesaro vs Diego will be OK but they could do better. Anyhow, are people actually going to wake up at 5:30 to watch this?

I'll be in Japan anyway, but I'm not going to the event (going to the NJPW PPV) I'll probably save it until I get back from vacation and watch then.

Ah, that's awesome. The PPV is the day after this, right? I bet it'll be lots of fun.
I'll probably watch live because it's going to be 6:30 for me here so it won't be that bad, but I'll definitely watch it for Bálor probably winning the title and Kofi's death also.
