Although the talks only appear to be very preliminary, The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that Kurt Angle's name has been brought up within WWE and it appears the company could be making a play to bring him back later this year.

Angle, who turns 41 this December, could be faced with a big decision if he is approached by WWE about a return. His wife Karen was said to be a major force behind him leaving WWE and now she is no longer a factor with the two splitting up recently. The negative is that Angle is still pretty banged up and is much smaller than when he left WWE in 2006.

While many feel his size could work against him, the belief is that WWE would give him an easier schedule and he would make more money. Angle has dropped a ton of weight in the last couple years, and tells friends he is much more comfortable this way. The plus to staying with TNA is that he is always guaranteed a top spot, his size will never be an issue and even if WWE offers him an easier schedule it will never be as easy on him physically as the TNA schedule is. The general opinion on Angle is that the smartest thing he could do is stay in TNA, but Angle's career is also coming to a close and the possibility of an increase in pay becomes even more important at that stage of his career

Man, Angle belongs in WWE. It'd be great for him to come back just to finish off his career. Doubt it'll happen, but who knows?

I think it will, this report is definitely neutral, but it lists some big reasons as to why he would want to come back to WWE. Remember, wrestlers have no pensions.

If Angle wants to continue to live a healthy life he should stay in TNA. While WWE will promise him a "light" schedule, it'll still be more hectic than his current one in TNA. I just hope Angle puts his health as his top priority before he makes his decision

It's either Angle picks his health and stays with TNA, or he picks money and goes to WWE. Angle has been one of my favorite wrestler for years. It's a tough choice for him to make.

I disagree. You don't see HBK having that heavy of a schedule, and that's the kind of schedule he'd have

I am almost certain Angle will remain in TNA. TNA will never take Angle out of the top spot. He is almost what Hogan was to WCW. He is going into WWE blind. He is much smaller than the top stars in WWE and said some nasty stuff about WWE after departing. I would be surprised if Angle would go to WWE.

He doesn't really seem smaller to me.. just more cut and ripped. It shouldn't be about the money. He's done all he can in TNA, and I personally think it's time to come back. It IS truly where he belongs. =/

Keep in mind that Angle is wrestling guys like AJ Styles and Jeff Jarrett. If he were always up against Batista, Triple H, and Randy Orton he would probably look way smaller.

Kurt Angle is like 5'8 or 5'10 right now and much let jacked than he used to be. I met him last October and for god's sake I was taller than him. He is much more leaning towards the MMA build than the pro wrestler build. You match him up against guys like Cena, HHH, Batista, Orton, there is no comparison. Angle would not fit in. They cannot make Angle look like a beast at wrestling against guys that are significantly bigger than him.

I doubt TNA will ever be as big as WWE. If Kurt returns to the WWE, he will get more money, as well as a proper possible Wrestlemania send off in 2011. A future hall of fame spot GUARANTEED for being wrestlings only olympic gold medalist. And he will continue to rake in money through retirment through royalties with the inevitable "Best of Kurt Angle" DVD.

But also for the sake of health, TNA is obviously the better choice. But I just dont see TNA having any long term stability, and thus Angle will not only be left no matter what with post retirment without alot of money, but also no company to carry on his name. No Hall of Fame send off, nothing. He'll be left wrestling in his 50's jobbing to guys on ROH and PWG just to get 300 dollars a week.

No one has ever taken Angle to be a beast wrestler though. He's still fairly agile, even at 41, and has always been known as a great technical wrestler. Still, him german suplexing Big Show was pretty awesome.

I think if he took the route of changing his style up to being more of the british lancaster, collegiate submissionest style, he could continue to have an excellent career. Take out all the high risk and dangerous to his neck moves and just specialize in taking his opponents down and ripping them limb from limb on the mat with slow and methodical psychology.

This should be done regardless of what we does with TNA, WWE or even MMA, but either way it will help him put a few years on his career.

WWE's obviously the better option, but I can't see him fitting in there tbh.

I would however, like a Morrison/Angle feud.
