John Cena has reportedly filmed content for WWE that has yet to air.
According to a report from Fightful Select, Cena filmed a segment with Austin Theory at the WWE SmackDown on December 30 from Tampa. However, it's not clear if what was filmed is intended for future WWE programming, a commercial, or something else.
Theory was pulled from a live event in Toronto that night in order to travel to Tampa and film the segment with Cena. He had been scheduled to face Seth Rollins in a steel cage match to headline the house show but was replaced by Finn Balor.
Cena and Theory had also been rumored for a program leading to SummerSlam last year. Our own Dave Meltzer addressed the two potentially working together in the June 13, 2022 edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
Meltzer wrote:
While this has not been confirmed to us by the company, the talk in wrestling is that it will be Cena vs. Theory at SummerSlam with the idea that working with Cena will bring Theory up to a higher level
