Michael Cole was introduced as the voice of WWE. Following a brief speech, Cole introduced Vince McMahon, who described himself as a fan of WWE. Vince set up a WWE hype video.
"Today is a great day to be a WWE fan because, drumroll please, we are announcing the launch of WWE Network," Vince said. He introduced WWE executive Michelle Wilson.
She said the network would be "over the top." She said fans want access to WWE anywhere and anytime and are willing to pay for content. She said WWE fans are highly engaged in consuming online digital content and said they are twice as likely to purchase online subscription services.
Wilson said WWE Network offers 24/7 streaming service with live content and a video on demand library. She said the network will include all 12 WWE pay-per-view events, including WrestleMania. She said there will be groundbreaking shows, pre- and post- Raw and Smackdown shows, and eventually a daily studio show. The launch will include VOD (video on demand) access to every WWE, WCW, and ECW pay-per-view. She said they will continue to add legacy content.
Wilson said the price will be $9.99 per month. She said it will be available on desktops, laptops, Xbox 360, Roku, Amazon Kindle Fire, Playstation 3-4, and more. She said it will be available in the U.S. to start. It will be available in other countries in late 2014 to early 2015.
