WWE Spoils Legacy Storyline

The WWE website posted a feature this past week counting down the top 10 Superstars who are most destined to win a championship this year. Ted DiBiase is listed at No. 5 with the following blurb, apparently spoiling his rumored babyface turn: "Another Superstar who is now on a quest for singles success is Raw's Ted DiBiase. Without Randy Orton and Cody Rhodes at his side, this third-generation Superstar will be looking to prove what he is capable of. Can this former tag team champion finally win one for himself?

I was big on the guy when he 1st debuted, but Rhodes > Dibiase.

How's that? The only one's that knew about it (besides those that work with the E) that Ted was getting the boot were the IWC when we read the reports about Dibiase getting a face push by the end of the year to sell his dvd.

Speaking of which, he's playing a great face.

Meh, they better push Legacy as a dominant faction than breaking it. Legacy didnt reach its pinnacle to dispare them already! Thats not right imo.

I say at the rumble Orton eliminates Cody Rhodes and Ted eliminates Orton. Then thats the end of legacy. It will be triple threats witht hem 3 and ted being the face cody the tweener and orton the heel.

Legacy's break up angle has been built better than the dominance of the actual fashion. Legacy has been living of what they did let's say prior to Survivor Series.

DiBiase will be the Batista and Rhodes the Orton if you get what I mean. DiBiase screams babyface, and Rhodes has always cut better heel promos.

Ughhh how long has Legacy Split rumors surfaced even on WWE TV? They always drop the ball with it and everytime you think we've seen the end of legacy, they hold them together. I won't be convinced of a Legacy split until I see it for sure

Why the hell would they split them up now? Legacy was never even fully established. They haven't done shit together for months until now.

That's the point It's been over a year and Legacy hasnt been tag champs since late 08. What is the point of them lagging with orton. Orton has helped them. They have improved on the mic and in the ring. His job is done and it's time for these guys to take the next step. With THD on the rise, Legacy wont be seeing tag gold

Once again lackluster booking slows down what could be another incredible push to the top. Sheamus gets a title two weeks on Raw and Dibiase/Rhodes do nothing for three months in proving they are a dominant tag team/faction when with Orton.

Cody Rhodes has always been the better promo than Dibiase, heel or face and I don't see that changing. Dibiase has more the look than Rhodes so I guess it all evens out as I see them damn similar in the ring. It's really hard to judge a wrestler when he has nothing to work for so maybe just maybe they will give each of these guys their rightful shot at a real feud.

Ted breaking away from the group first has to happen, I would much rather have Dibiase feud with Rhodes before Orton but it's too close to Wrestlemania and doing that would rush Orton/Dibiase. I say run with Orton/Dibiase at WM possibly with Rhodes pulling double duty as the special ref and in MITB. It's going to take a lot for Dibiase to earn a clean 'W' on Orton at WM so have Rhodes fast count Dibiase to the mat, let Orton sick Rhodes on Dibiase for a month or two. Have Orton act above Dibiase until a Raw in May possibly June where Dibiase finally does something really impactful against Orton. Give Dibiase a clean win over Orton and send him either for the US Title or a Upper Mid Card feud with Miz.

And then what do you feel about Cody? I'm all up for opinions especially something thoughtful as this, but I don't think Rhodes can Kayfabe, do MITB and the DiBiase/Orton match as the special ref, so I look for the special ref part as above the MITB one. But I do expect for Orton and DiBiase to respectively have shots for the MITB match with the other screwing them out of it. Rhodes will try to be the peace maker and will jump ship to Orton.

Why not have a US Title win first to throw jealousy in that Ted is the only member of Legacy with a title. First it's Cody that gets jealous because the two had to compete against each other for the shot and DiBiase won then won the title. Cody and Ted are set to have a match to settle it but Cody loses it afterwards but Orton comes in and breaks it up. He looks at both men, turns to Cody but turns back around and hits Ted with an RKO. Orton admits to being jealous too (not explicitly) Ted and Orton feud with Cody in Orton's corner. Ted/Orton at WM with Cody as ref. Ted looks to get the win but Cody either refuses or counts slow. Ted gets angry and takes out Cody. Orton hits an RKO and calls another official out to count the one two three. Ted and Cody/Orton feud for a while longer with hopefully a kayfabe or real injury or something to get Cody out of the situation then Orton/Ted face off and Ted gets a clean win.
