WWE is hoping to have The Rock be a part of this year's Survivor Series which could be in Brooklyn, New York.
Mat Men's Andrew Zarian first reported that one of WWE's "Big Four" shows would be heading to Brooklyn with Dave Meltzer adding in this week's Wrestling Observer Newsletter that WWE hopes to bring in the 49-year-old pop culture megastar for an appearance that would lead to something bigger.
"If he’s involved, that would make it a huge show and it would lend credence to (Roman) Reigns vs. (Dwayne) Johnson for WrestleMania as Johnson is getting older each year," Meltzer wrote.
A Reigns-Rock match has been rumored for quite some time and Meltzer said that if Rock does come back, he will want to set a box office record with Dallas' AT&T Stadium (2022) and Los Angeles' SoFi Stadium (2022) as the two venues where that could happen.
"Last year, when there was talk of Reigns vs. Johnson, we were told that it wouldn’t happen at the 2021 WrestleMania but that it was something they were shooting for in 2022, but that’s also 1,500 plans ago," he wrote.
