Interesting that the 2 SNMEs are so close to one another

Very bold move but I don't mind it. You can get a bunch of matches on there that won't make it on the Rumble card but you're gonna be missing alot of the top guys you'd assume.

Meltzer says he's heard this date too and adds that San Antonio is being discussed as a possible location.

Also, not sure if anyone's mentioned yet but these shows are supposed to be simulcast on Peacock as well which makes sense with the PLE branding too

From Observer radio:

“It will be January 25. That date has been out there for a while, but WWE did confirm it to me."

And about the timing:

“The deal is that when they get the date from NBC, that is the date they run. They do not run NBC. NBC is the one who makes the choice. They are the higher power in this one.”

Makes sense now knowing that NBC is the one calling the shots.

I’m sure they want something to bring in ratings. I don’t know how much original content they have.

I just think it would make sense to see how the first one did before ordering another one.

A certain amount were guaranteed when they signed the new TV deal I believe, so waiting doesn't really change anything.

Also highly doubt it's as strict as Meltzer is making out to be where they get told a date and have to run that.

After the disaster return run in 2006, you'd think so, but I don't think anyone expects anything other than a pretty good success this time around. If I had to guess, they already know they don't have shit for that weekend so that's why they're going ahead and booking them for it

I believe it's one per quarter so NBC probably has tentative Saturdays around any sports or events they would like something instead of reruns or whatever

I don't know if I am remembering wrong or not, but weren't most Saturday Night's Main Events aired close to PPV events? So they were basically commercials that were a little better than the weekly shows, but less than the PPVs.

I guess I could just look it up but "Better Ask Chris" works so much better lol

Yeah it was the only time I could watch any decent shows because my dad wouldn't get PPVs so it was Superstars and SNME.

You have a decent knowledge of classic wrestling though.

But my memory tells me they were close to PPVs. My sister and I would watch them and yeah, they were in SNL's slot.
