WWE Raw Netflix premiere press confrence notes: Triple H on usage of ‘heel’ and ‘face’ in cold open
Triple H and other WWE stars spoke to the media following Monday’s Raw.

Triple H and other WWE stars spoke following the Netflix Raw premiere.
John Cena, Roman Reigns, Rhea Ripley, CM Punk, and Triple H all spoke to the media following Monday’s premiere. Here are the highlights:
John Cena
- The first question asked about him potentially wrestling The Rock. John Cena said he was trying to set realistic expectations with Monday’s promo and stressed his storyline about his losing streak heading into the Royal Rumble.
- Cena also reiterated that this is his last Royal Rumble, and hopes it gives him the energy to get to WrestleMania.
- In terms of how many matches he’ll have during 2025, he said that it is “well beyond my scope of field.”
- Regarding using previous personas like the Prototype or Thug Life, Cena said there are elements of that around already.
- When asked about a future match with The Rock, Reigns said that he will let the internet “do its thing,” saying we’ll see.
- Paul Heyman said there should be no reason why Roman Reigns shouldn’t get an Emmy this coming year, saying Roman Reigns didn’t miss a single week during COVID while production shut down everywhere. He also said WWE, himself, and Paul Levesque deserve Emmys.
- Ripley said that she and Liv Morgan were done after tonight, and was excited to see what the future brings.
- On her moment with the Undertaker, Ripley said she thought that kicking Dominik in the netheregions would be the highlight of the night, but then that happened. She said it was a moment she’ll never forget, she can’t wait to rub it in Damien Priest’s face.
- Punk was asked about facing either The Rock or John Cena. He said he wouldn’t say no to facing either, as those names come with fat paychecks. He mentioned that he saw Cena in the hallway and he looked tired, and needed to “go to sleep.”
- He was asked if main-eventing WrestleMania was important to his legacy. Punk said it would be foolish to say it doesn’t matter, but also said it would be foolish to hold him to the same ideas he had 10 or 12 years ago. He said if the opportunity arises he wouldn’t walk away from it.
- Denise Salcedo asked him how he sees this part of his career. He responded by saying he doesn’t want people to focus on his body falling apart, but he wants people to understand he’s 46 he’s just starting to understand the business, but his body is falling apart. He said tearing his triceps was the worst thing that ever happened to him but he told himself he was going to make the injury the best thing that’s ever happened to him.
- He pushed the new arena gate record, with 17,514 attending Monday’s event.
- When running down the card for next week’s show, Triple H assumed people already knew who Chad Gable’s opponent was for next week, referring to Penta.
- The first question asked about the biggest changes with the move to Netflix. Triple H said the biggest difference between streaming and cable is the commercials, as they have been given more flexibility.
- Triple H said that tonight’s show had to be approached as a standalone event, next week Raw will return to a more episodic feel.
- Some announcements on Travis Scott collaborations will be coming “soon.”
- While talking about the cold open to Monday’s show, Triple H talked about the reaction of him in the video using phrases like heel, babyface, shoot, and work. He said they are not trying to hide what they do, arguing the terms have even transcended the business.
- Said he was very happy with what went down tonight, happy with the talent. He said there was a cool vibe happening here ready to make the product great.
- He said they are learning along the way, mentioning the new lighting and camera angles. They are learning and trying new things.
