- According to Variety, WWE will be joining about 100 other channels on a new TV initiative by the Google-owned YouTube.

WWE will be providing content to YouTube’s new service. It sounds like this could be the first clearance for the new WWE network.

YouTube will pay each channel no more than $5 million and in turn, will charge viewers a fee to view the content.

YouTube is launching the new initiative to compete with satellite and cable TV providers. Other channels joining WWE include The Wall Street Journal, skateboarder Tony Hawk, actor Ashton Kutcher, Shaq and others.

Most of the channels will be launching early next year and once up and running, the channels will provide about 25 hours of new content each day.
