- WWE is in the middle of making a big effort to make their B-show pay-per-views more unique and special. The top 4 pay-per-views are considered to be the Royal Rumble, WrestleMania, SummerSlam and Survivor Series while the rest of the shows throughout the year are B-shows. WWE wants to brand these shows over the next few years so they each have their own gimmick or distinct feature that makes them stand out. For example, One Night Stand is all gimmick matches and Night of Champions has all Title matches.

WWE officials are initially happy with the way the Scramble matches came off and there is talk that they could return next year. There is also talk that the Elimination Chamber will return at this year's No Way Out, though that's not confirmed.

from impactwrestling.com

this could be good for some ppvs but idk if i wanna see the scrambles every year unless they make some changes...

Could be good. You have the big 4, and then each of the small ones with personality too. They already have started it though, by the looks of it..

Cyber Sunday-Votes
No Way Out-Elimination Chamber
ONS-Gimmick matches
Unforgiven-Scramble matches
NOC-Title matches...

Thats a few they have, if they give the rest some gimmick, that'd be great.

I don't want something unique for every PPV because if there was it would mean the current ones will mean less and sometimes I prefer seeing a normal wrestling match to some other kinda match. As long as WWE keeps it all real and doesn't go TNA with their matches I guess it's ok but still leave a couple of normal PPV's imo, don't make them all "unique".

Summerslam and Survivor Series have really lost their flare as top PPVs. They really need to focus on building up those two PPVs, especially Survivor Series where they're just throwing together one big ass elimination match that has 5 feuds in 1.

I think it sounds like a good idea. Thata way they have potential to be good. Although, WWE has a poll on their website whether you want to see Scramble matches reappear at Unforgiven and it was 65 to 35 or something like that.

That's good, every PPV is going to be something special and we're not going to see the same average matches on Television and on PPV. Finally they have differentiated between the two.

I wish they could just go back to having the PPVs branded again. It was the best way to get people on PPV, and I feel like its too cluttered with 3 brands on every single PPV. This idea is a good one though, making every PPV unique is a great way to increase buy rates.

Nice list there Mike, I'll add one more to it.

No Way Out = All Cage matches, that's what the original concept was.. but for whatever reason they didn't go with it.

And I also agree with getting the PPV's back to one brand by one, it's all too cluttered when you have all the brands mixed together every month and it doesn't add to the excitement. If they make them brand original, It's going to make the big four PPV's more special since that's going to be the only tri-branded PPV's.

Giving each PPV a gimmick would get too... gimmicky, I think. If they wanted to put two feuding superstars in a certain type of match, they might have to wait, for example, two PPVs from now before the gimmicks allow for it. Unless of course the gimmicks they give the PPVs are so vague that you can fit pretty much anything into them, in which case they really won't stand out.

Branded PPVs, however, would be awesome. It'd give the midcard time to shine and allow feuds to more fully develop before a PPV comes to finish it off.

Yeah i also think branded ppv's would be the way to go. Having all 3 brands on the 1 ppv isn't given enough time for decent feuds to build up and so they are rushed and ended quickly. Separate branded ppv would help this, plus give more chances of new talent to showcase there stuff. Id love to see them start to do separate ppv's again. I'm not sure about the whole gimmick thing tho we have quite a lot of gimmicky ppv's as it is. Id like to see just some plain and simple wrestling ppv's were the time is spent more on the build up the match and match length. Than gimmicks and promo stuff. Yeah we need story lines and promo's to fill but I'm sure they could pull off one or two good 20/30 minute matches like back in the day. They have some talent there to pull off and carry a long match. We just don't see enough of decent length matches anymore. I f they brand split a ppv for each brand then that could be achieved IMO.

This idea sucks shit!!! Now when we get to SummerSlam or something we will just think, "meh, why book this when we could see something just like it next month, its not that special" or something like that. This kinda is like copying TNA since they have the lethal lockdown PPV which is all cage matches, KOTM match at Slammiversary and maybe others. :smh at WWE

The WWE really needs to go back to branded PPVs. If they complain about 1 brand only getting 1 PPV in 3 months then they can devise some kind of Supershow. They dont need to make any PPVs gimmicky like TNA and it is fine they way they have them now.

Spicing up the B-PPVs is a nice idea, but I do think they could do that just as well with the matches and fueds alone without relying on 101 gimmick matches.... IF they stepped their efforts up accordingly.

IMO No Way Out being a EChamber-fest like it was this year takes away all the buzz from the Rumble winner getting the WM title shot cos the EC matches are obviously gonna to have world title conotations and BOTH brands EC must be treated equally.... The idea of one being for the title but the other being for contendership (effectively at WM) totally stinks.

Surely Armageddon would be the obvious choice?

...Then again I think it's clear that the intention there is to 'pile it on' as much as possible to let the hype snowball as much as poss between Nov & March as you have 3 of the big 4 in the space of 5 PPVs, of course, leading up to 'Mania. Making NOW a EC-PPV will only further this approach....

I think it's kinda worrying that they were that pleased with the scramble matches too...

They made Hardy's character look like a moron and the idea that with a guy like HHH, Taker, Cena, Bartista or any of the big guys, as reigning champ, them losing in the space of 5 mins with their implied conditioning is ludicrous! I think if they're not carefull they'll do further serious damage to some of their talent's characters.

My thinking is couldn't we at least get ONE brand exclusive PPV per year? So we get to the the roster in full swing at least once... Maybe between Summerslam & Survivor Series? This could also feed angles for Brand Supremacy battles at SSeries.

And drop Cyber Sunday.... It's shit cos the fans don't REALLY have any kind of say.

That's good, every PPV is going to be something special and we're not going to see the same average matches on Television and on PPV. Finally they have differentiated between the two.

The differences are there already... Surely you would be able to tell the difference between a PPV & Raw/SD just from a brief clip in a 'Pepsi Challenge'-kinda scenario... I know I would!

Fuck that.

Bring back single brand PPV's first.

But yep, this does seem a tad redundant imo. NOC, ONS and CS are enough of 'gimmick' PPV's in my eyes. Like Airfixx said, NWO is a dumb time to have an annual Elimination Chamber(s) as it defeats the purpose of the Rumble.

But what about the fact of NOT knowing what the Main Event will be? It would be pretty awful to know every PPV what kind of match you were going to see in the Main event, be it a Championship Scramble, an EC, a HIAC etc.

If I remember correctly, WWE was doing stuff like that long before TNA was.
